  1. Ugly play, but I blame the coaches for it. I don't like pass plays when it's 3rd and 3 and you're in field goal range...unless they are stacked against the run, whcih they weren't. YOu know the D is gonna try to push you back out of FG range with a sack...so call a fuggin draw, pick up the first, and continue. Argh. 10977[/snapback] You know nod--we did this on a couple of plays last night....3rd and 4 or so...we ran--we need to practice this a lot, since we hardly did this at all last year...I think that defines a true commitment to the run...do you run when the tendency dicatates a better than average call for the pass. The other thing I am still a little frustrated with is the lack of use of the screen or circle routes in this case...maybe they are practicing this stuff--but if you let the line through and run the receivers deep--that puts a lot of pressure on LB's to cover our backs- I like that matchup and we haven't seen it yet... I had a thought last night--when we go 3 or 4 wides on the field in these situations--why not line Reed up in the backfield or in a tight slot and have him run a middle screen--I think that would be quite effective. The truth is while the play call mix has been good, there is a lot of the playbook that we haven't seen yet--I am hoping that some of it makes into the game plan for Jacksonville and Oakland...
  2. If there is any risk at all to do more damage--I say hold him out for the first two games and the bye week....bring him back for NE. I think Coy is happy to be back at SS and will perform well as a starter---it sounded as if he played well last night...Murph and AVP were both recognizing his recognition and range. We aren't in a position where we have to rush Lawyer back--
  3. Thanks Kelly--From your analysis I would form the opinion that the starting 5 is fine and even depth in the middle and Marcus Price are adequate back ups... Sullivan needs to go -- he is just not motivated enough to be a good player. The key is to get Jonas back sometime this week and let the starting 5 work together for the next couple of weeks in practice. We are in real trouble if we get past the third tackle (Price) and past the third guard (Tucker)...there's not too many NFL teams who wouldn't be in trouble in this case.....
  4. Are they confused what country they are supposed to be representing or is it a Home and Away dilemma???
  5. Happy Birthday AD....birthday wish for you: behind the plate seats for Greg Maddux pitched game....
  6. I can hear my dear mother saying "What a little doll your son is"... The puffy cheeks, the bloated look, I am really sorry to tell mom and dad but that kids a steroid abuser
  7. Thin Lizzy, Jailbreak album, Cowboy Song...on real player 70's rock
  8. And a special added bonus---free mixed breed puppies with this house...
  9. One thing that could happen is that the grouping of Evans, McGahee and Losman will become tighter through this...JP hasn't had to rehab an injury like this and Evans and McGahee have had major injuries twice. I can already see this little support group forming....which would be nice for cohesion in 2005 and/or 2006 when they are the triplets...
  10. Ralph is there most of the time during the season also....why stop at the GM why not indict the owner in this to. Where was Ralph? A head coach needs to control his staff. The GM/President has enough to do with NFL, talent and team administration responsibilities. Look no further than Oakland to see what happens when you have a meddling owner or front office staff....you end up with rejects from coaches like Sean Payton and Norv Turner as your head coach....Instead the Bills job ended up being one of the most sought after jobs this past off-season. We could have had anyone we interviewed, although waiting for Weis may have hurt from a staff perspective--we could have had him...we chose Mike Mularkey who had rejected the Raiders and Bengals in the past....TD is a big reason why Mularkey is here...
  11. Is there any penalty for ripping off a thread without giving credit At least Brazilian Scumbag could have copied the whole post....Calling Mike Barnicle
  12. Thanks for the running summary nod. I don't think anyone is shocked by this. Its something we all strongly suspected. I would have the same feeling if OJ all of the sudden stood up on the 18th green tomorrow and said -- "I did it" Its unbelievable that Gilbride is still in the NFL...but then again he's working for Tom Coughlin and Brenda Warner. Just adds more credence to showing some optimism around here...you have to have high level coaching and talent to succeed, we were lacking in one category last year---that seems to have been addressed. GW could have had Tom Clements two years ago--that's who TD was pushing....at the time GW felt he needed experience....who knew what a fatal mistake that was.
  13. There are several Bills who I think fall into the category of underappreciated. The notoriety they gain is not commensurate with the contributions they make on the field....which Bills player do you think is the most underappreciated and why? I would go with London Fletcher. He was put into the background (and probably justifiably so) when we signed TKO last year, but he still led us in tackles, he acts as the QB of the defense and now is poised to become a key contributor on the KO return team by being the keystone of the wedge and blowing people up....He's always in the play on D -- and he seldom misses tackles--he makes up for a lack of height with better than average speed in coverage. He is a true 4 down contributor. We got him for a relative bargain ($3.5 million per year on a 5 year deal) and all he has done is lead us in tackles the last couple of years and become the heart and soul of the defense...... So i want to say #59 Thanks for all you do.....(bud light real American hero music in background) B)
  14. Stay safe AD.... Maybe prep for an aftershock by getting the martinis ready and letting mother nature do the shaking....
  15. I feel really bad for JP. This will hurt his development for this season but he seems to have the right work ethic to keep studying, watching film and then mixing in his rehab. I can't even respond to the suggestion of benching Vincent, its so far from the universe in which I believe I live I can't comprehend it...
