Trent Green Trade to Miami "Imminent"
JoeF replied to BenchBledsoe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Cam Cameron has known Trent Green since college at IU. Cam Cameron is also one of the smartest Offensive minds in the game. Green is accurate -- something the Phins haven't had in a while--Green is already what Chad Pennington wants to be -- a cerebral QB with a decent (as opposed to rag) arm who can lead a team. This isn't great news. The reason Green has "never won anything" is because the Chiefs sucked on D...not on O... The Phins are an offensive lineman or two away from being competitive again...the good news is that Offensive Lineman who can contribute right away are hard to find in the draft and that the Phins are aging on D with a lot of their stars being on the wrong side of 32 or 33. They have too many needs to contend this year, I think, but if they get Green I bet a lot that they are going to draft 2 or 3 young OL in the first four rounds. -

Mike--we have lost two 14 year old cats in the past year. I am so sorry to hear this. The euthanasia is a tough choice--we just asked how much pain our boys were in and that guided the decision. We buried the ashes in the backyard and the six of us (wife and four kids) each shared a happy story about the cats. I know it sounds really silly--but it got everyone's tears out and it was kind of a fitting eulogy. It was an interesting lesson for the kids. Wishing Godspeed for Doggie..

A clue that Marvs may have Pittman in his scope
JoeF replied to Helmet_hair's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So are you saying that you expect that posts in this thread are going to be limited to those that agree with your opinion? I am confused... I really doubt that we would draft a RB high in the draft because he can be a gunner on the suicide squad. We need a RB who can take the bulk of the carries for the offense -- that RB won't be playing gunner for us. Did Jim Tressel have Pittman play gunner for him after he became the feature back? Is there any evidence to suggest that? I would be really surprised because Tressel is a pretty smart coach and probably would hesitate to do this. -

If he does play gunner (which is kind of like a player you know may be a human sacrifice at any time) it says something not so positive about the pick....Our new gunner is probably going to be a 6th or 7th round corner or Jim Leonhard. Jabari Greer is a damn good gunner -- its a good thing to because he can't cover a book as a corner... -

I think that the loss of London Fletcher-Baker signals that the Bills have interest in Peyton Manning. When you lose the QB of the Defense you counteract that by upgrading the QB of the Offense. -
Good catch.....its Warrick Holdman who played for Jauron in Chicago..here is the Scouts, Inc. Profile Holdman has good athletic ability, speed and quickness. He has good range, he is a very good space player and he has good awareness and instincts. He is fluid in his hips; he has good change of direction skills and initial quickness. He has a good motor and he has enough speed to make plays from sideline to sideline. He does a good job of avoiding and slipping blocks. He is a good open field tackler, he breaks down and he will wrap up the ball carrier. One of his strong points is his pass defense. He has good awareness; he gets good depth on his pass drops and he knows where the ball is going. He is effective on has jam at the line of scrimmage vs a tight end or slot receivers and he can turn and run on man to man coverage. However, Holdman is not very good when he has to play in the box. He lacks size, bulk and strength to shed blockers. He can not hold up at the point of attack. He plays too high, big linemen are able to get under his pads and engulf him. He is not good when he has to stack and shed vs run at him and at times he will get physically overpowered. He struggles getting off second level backside blocks; he gets caught up in traffic and taken out of the play. Overall, Holdman he is around the ball a lot but is more of a pile watcher than a playmaker and he plays very inconsistent. He is an adequate starter when he is healthy. Stat Link: http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/133309 From the assessment--does not look like he would help attack the run much. Could be veteran depth and maybe DJ's version of Eddie Robinson -- hope Pennington doesn't fake him out....yikes..

And isn't it a noble cause it is to keep their calendars full? I respect your thoughts on this subject a lot. Do we ever get to a point where we reach the saturation rate of "Dumbshits on Parade" or is their enough ignorance in society to keep it going in perpetuity? I guess I know the answer....

Call him tomorrow morning -- I am sure he will be pleased that you have found it in your heart to forgive him. The most important thing is that he is a better person for all this. I mean half his show now is about "The Ranch", Green Cleaning, Fallen Heros -- maybe the part of his personality that follows the giving back path will take over and he will live out his life as a philanthropist. I personally would love this because his shtick got tired with me about 20 years ago...about the same time he went into rehab. Welcome to the board.

Makes Sense with Marv and Ralph overseeing the draft.....here is a picture of Marv and Ralph in the warroom http://gopvixen.blogs.com/gop_vixen/images...tlerwaldorf.JPG -
wow! Much tougher than I expected....Roger is proving to be a no nonsense commish who abides by his word. That's what I would expect from a guy with WNY roots. Godell for President...I guess that would be a step down from NFL commish..

You just don't get it....these were fake out moves to make you believe that Ralph is truly commited to winning. Signing three young lineman (1 DE, 2 OL) entering what are normally the 3 or 4 best years of their career and making decisions to purge a running back who didn't want to give his best; a cornerback who cost more than both young OL combined and two warrior LB's who are great but past their prime is a total give up and move to LA move. I can't believe how dense you are...gosh...

He was cut because he failed to pass his physical....don't think that he would be a worthwhile option. Article speculates that his career is over.... http://www.ajc.com/sports/content/printedi...athis0410a.html

80% of his scoops come from scanning local papers and calling out the content on his site first...on the stuff where he speculates -- his track record is somewhere just slightly above the Soprano Line... His sense of humor however rivals my own sophomoric sense of humor-- Lenny P from ESPN is Lenny pass the potatoes Theismann is Joey Sunshine Vince Young is Uncle Rico Michael Vick is Ron Mexico Kellen Winslow, Jr. was Evil Knievel And the ugly mash up photos are funny stuff...the Bang cartoons are funnier but Florio's updates are more frequent

If you could interview DL Anthony Hargrove, what
JoeF replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hey Tip--thanks for the opportunity... A couple from me... 1) He played for Coach Kollar in St. Louis and now in Buffalo. Why does he think Kollar wanted him in Buffalo after St. Louis seemingly gave up on him? 2) He alternated between DT (in rush situations) and DE last year. With the addition of Darwin Walker does he figure to concentrate on DE? 3) In year two for the defense in cover 2--where does he expect to see improvements? 4) Ask him about Coach April and how he keeps the special teams consistently at the top of the league. I know you may not get to ask him any questions--but these would be my top ones... -
You know what, and I know I will get trashed for this, but I have come around on Florio and PFT. It is what it is--part parody; part speculation; part BS and enough good content mixed in to make it worthwhile. I know its about as accurate as Ricky Vaughn pre-spectacles sometimes--but take it for what its worth-its okay.

Its called a "slight competitive advantage" I look at this from the pundits perspective and I would tend to agree...you lose 6 pro bowlers on Defense in two years (Milloy, Vincent, Clements, Adams, Fletcher and Spikes) and your feature back and the mass media is going to say you suck. It doesn't matter that these players were either 1) Not a good fit for the system 2) Way overpriced 3) Showed deteriorating skill 4) Didn't want to be in Buffalo and wouldn't work hard to reach their potential while in Buffalo or some combination of the above...all the ESPN guys and gals are paid to see is that the franchise is being gutted..that's fine-- if it bothers you--post about it, vent...but don't expect it to change... We got 2 solid role players (Ellison, Williams) and 2 very solid starters (Whitner and Simpson) on D in last year's draft. McCargo had shown pretty significant improvement before his injury and Youboty lost the year because of his mom's death...that draft could yield 6 starters or rotational role players on D...that's damn impressive...if we repeat that type of draft this year--we contend for the playoffs. Then the same ESPN guys and gals will be talking about our great future with our wonderful young talent..Its a show me world and right now we don't have a ticket to the movie-but a few wins buys us entry...

Simon winds up, throws the curve, that's cut on and missed by the batter... Sorry, baseball got the best of me... I love the foundation that is low expectations---keep 'em coming ESPN, FOX, etc. I hope the 13 teams on our schedule all are voracious readers and viewers
