If Von Miller is in, what difference does it make if our corners are playing 10 yards off the receivers and Burrow gets rid of the ball in under 2 seconds? We could have had aaron Donald, nick bosa, Von Miller and Micah parsons and we wouldn’t win with that scheme we ran against the Bengals

Oh the bills defence is great every regular season, I’m not denying that haha . Only to fall flat on their face in the playoffs though every year. Same thing in 2021. Great against the chiefs in the regular season- hold them to 20 points and force 4 turnovers. Only to let up 42 and choke 13 seconds away in the playoffs. We have a pretty good sample size under MCD/Frazier that the bills can’t slow down great QBs in the playoffs. It’s not like getting crushed by Burrow is a one off type of game.

In the run it would have helped having Jones, I’ll agree with that. But the pass rush is irrelevant if you’re playing 10 yards off the receivers and giving Burrow the easy passes all game long. Having those guys play or not, it wouldn’t have mattered if Frazier ran the same soft zone coverage

If we have Von, Jones and Hyde against the Bengals, do we play well on defence? I am guessing no because the scheme never gave them a chance to win. You make very good points all around. I just think If the bills D takes the next step In the playoffs, they have to change their scheme and be more versatile at times

Drafting more mediocre D lineman is the best way to go in my mind..

They definitely need a WR2. Gabe is good as your 3rd/4th option, but he’s not a 2.

I’ve never trusted this defence. It was hard to argue with the results they had in the regular season over the years, but time and time again they choke in the playoffs 2019- Blew a 16 point lead in the 3rd against Houston 2020- Got steam rolled by KC 2021- Steam rolled again and couldn’t stop 13 seconds 2022- No answer against 3 backup o lineman in bad weather

1. Let Frazier go, hire Fangio 2. Change the defensive scheme (as fangio would) 3. Let Edmunds and Poyer walk 4. Fire Dorsey and hire Reich 5. Use as many assets/resources on the offence as possible

Edmunds definitely not as it would be over 20 mil as guys like TJ watt Jack up the price as they are listed as “linebackers”. Poyer, maybe but I doubt it. I think if a deal gets done with Poyer, they will have to make it a “phoney” 2 year deal where they push money away from the cap this year.

Ya There’s 0 point paying Edmunds 17-19 mil per season. Their defence is soft with or without him, might as well use that money and invest it in the O line and WRs

He was the OC for a Nick Foles SB team.. Head coach? Maybe over his as. But as an OC the man knows how to scheme offence

What I would do? Fire Dorsey and hire Frank Reich As OC. Fire Frazier and Beane tell MCD to change his defensive philosophy and to hire more of a man/aggressive guy. I wouldn’t fire MCD yet as he has a lot of stability, but there needs to be changes in defensive philosophy IMO

You’re absolutely right Alpha. But here’s the problem… I think it’s more Mcd and not Frazier. They can fire Frazier but then MCD will just want to hire a guy who runs his cover 2/cover 3 shell. If the defence changes, I think it has to start with MCD looking at himself in the mirror

That’s fair. He definitely had a descent rookie year. But ya whatever the reason, he had a bad year this year IMO
