Where is he from?
I think Star makes a lot of sense for the bills due to need and the fact that his worst year of his career was when he was apart from McD. I think it makes sense for both sides and i want to see it happen, but i definitely don't want to overpay for him.
Is Bryce, Bo’s brother? Bo was big time on draft day

Is your son tall or Beane short?

I would like to see:
* McCoy spike the ball on the Eagles logo and flip off the crowd to get those former 500 level Eagle fans really going
* TT rush for 100 yards and 2 TD (no pass attempts)
* Incognito lose it and I mean sledgehammer on a Ferrari lose it
* Boldin flush out the rest of the prima donnas
* Hughes hit the over on 2 personal fouls
* Lorax play every down in the first Q in all 3 phases
* Dareus drop in coverage a bunch of times to work off that body fat
* Peterman's wedding ring
* Ragland cover some WRs to really see if he has what it takes
* Darby play lots of zone coverage
* Jeffery Lurie cry to McCoy again about trading him
* Schwartz unveil a new hybrid 3-4 scheme to show Rex how to coach D
* me cover my $50 bet I just placed in Vegas on Bills with Eagles favored by 4.5 parlayed with Bucs favored by 1 at the half against Marones runnin' jag-offs
Go Bills!

I was thinking the same thing. The blocking was atrocious and his trajectory was a bit low....both of which are fairly easy to correct. Carpenter's misses were mental which is way harder to fix...if fixable at all. He was really shanking then like my drives on the golf course....hook one hole and slice the next. Can't just look at the stats for this comparison! How many PATs were blocked? Seven?

Interesting. Tyron threw 50 but I wonder if he somehow throws harder now?
Here is a good analysis on QB velocities since '08

What is Shaq returning from? Don't you have to be there before in order to return? All eyes on LeSean McCoy... but will it matter? 5 things to watch in #Bills/Dolphins, complete with prediction: https://t.co/8usVLbRKFC
Five things to watch for on Sunday:
1) LeSean: Will he or wont he?
2) The return of Shaq
3) Run it all day
4) Beware of Landry
5) What do the Bills do without Woods?
Prediction: Bills over Dolphins

The Bills rushing attack is really looking strong, but the 49ers run d was some of the worst I have ever seen in the NFL.

Wondering if the team leaders also weighed in (pun intended) that he needed to go...was a problem in the locker room, etc. That will probably stay in the locker room with the players and we may never hear that partObviously the Bills agree they have better places to invest their time, energy, and money or they wouldn't have cut him. But in cutting him, they are cutting a player in whom they invested a draft pick (albeit a low round one) and a season of development. All I'm saying is the stated "too fat to practice" 1 week of "didn't perform well" doesn't seem like enough reason to toss that investment.
It's kind of
to describe a player who starts 11 games for 5.6 ypa, a 78.6% catch/target and scores 9 TDs as "did nothing except get hurt when you have the chance to start". Had he shown he was a long-term star or a starter, or a guy you can build around, No. But he did show he could play and contribute in the league, and that really shouldn't be questioned by anyone knowledgeable in the game.
Both of these views make a lot more sense to me. If the players didn't trust him and there were locker room issues and coaching issues (lack of focus/effort?) on top of the weight and the suspension, that would be reason to cut their losses.
I suppose we'll never know, but I do tend to believe there must have been some final precipitating event that put him "over the top" with management. I have believed this about Lynch and Bryce Brown as well, but nothing has ever come out.

How much cap room do they have to sign him now that Wilkerson is signed?
-
So will they drop the Raiders and go with Locomotives? They should given the storied championship history of the Locomotives vs the Raiders

Good. Any more appeal avenues?

Great post! Agree with all of your pound except for pulling/benching Mario. I think that was a great move. He is your highest paid player. Let him go out there and earn that money he is f'n making...,and when he didn't, all of his teammates, fans and 31 GMs in the league (apparently Miami GM wasn't paying attention) have a whole season of film to watch of him quitting. I also can almost assure it was an organizational decision going all the way to the top to let it play out that way...not just Rex. Everyone knew he quit.I realized not too long ago that Mario pulled a Clowney. Clowney during his last year in college knew that he wasn't going to stay and would be a high pick. So he mailed it in for the entire year. Mario knew that no matter what his contract wouldn't allow him to stay on the team barring a pay cut. So he protected himself and dogged it. What I don't think he accounted for is how much the "quitter" label would effect his pay check. I want all of the people defending him to think about this. In a year where Olivier Vernon got 15 million for potential Mario had to settle for 8. He even floated that the first person to offer him 10 would get him and he couldn't get that. So all of us on message boards can opine for the entire off season but the league has already spoken on this issue and it doesn't reflect favorably on Mario.
Failed to the tune of not having a top 10 defesne twice in the years he has been a HC including last year. Rex was always dogged for poor offensive performance. His defenses were rarely the issue.
Yup. As I posted above clearly the league thinks he quit. Rex certainly erred in not pulling him off of the field.
This thread is beyond my comprehension. I have seen nobody defend the job Rex did last year. EVERYONE was disappointed. To lay the poor defensive performance at his feet entirely and not account for injuries or your best player mailing it in is lazy at best. Rex has even come out and admitted that he screwed the pooch last year by not going with his system full bore at the beginning of last year. I have yet to see anyone completely exonerate Rex for the d failings last year.
If he was benched or cut, Mario could have just pointed to how he was f'd over and that he would have had double digit sacks and wouldn't let him play, but Rex and the new coaching staff had it out for him...etc. he probably would have had several teams line up that would have bought it and have him a bigger deal in that scenario.

Kind of where I was intending to go with the last point. They certainly need someone to compete for #2&3. They do appear to be showcasing and maybe even leaking details of interest in round one prospectsor to just get better at QB..all we have is Taylor and Manuel...I don't think we draft one in 1st but we have comp picks this year and could take one in 3rd round
-
I'm not ready to give into the unlikely scenario they will actually draft a QB in the first round. Assuming this is a smoke screen, what are the likely reasons?
* motivation for Tyrod
* deterrent to Tyrod's agent for negotiations
* throw off other teams regarding their intentions on draft day
* learn more about the delta between top prospects and mid-late round prospects they are more likely to draft
Some combination? All of the above? Other options?

Says the guy who sides with a guy who quit on his teammates and the fans. Cutting Mario had NOTHING to do with ego. Mario made sure he would be cut all by himself and Ryan left him out in the field to show it to the whole world.I don't believe we should be drafting a WR in the first unless a fluke gives us a top 10 pick. But when I see people listing how stacked we are at WR, it makes me cringe. We have Watkins and Woods at WR. The rest are just backup/role player warm bodies.
Of the rest, we have Goodwin, if he plays, if he lasts more than 5 plays before another injury. He has talent, but not the durable body for it,or the passion for it. His passion is elsewhere.
The rest, warm bodies. Where is the talent that at least has a high ceiling?
Kujo and Henderson have had their years to show real progress. Use injuries as an excuse, but neither has shown a progression toward being adequate. This is the year for Miller to show real progression, so I give him part of a season more to start showing he gets it. If not, it is time to find someone else. This team is full of warm bodies with low ceilings.
And the owner chose Ryan over a quality defense and shot themselves in the foot, causing that huge gap that needs to be fixed by tossing Mario. Now they need to fix the hole by using a precious high draft pick. It was not about money with Mario, remember he is playing for only 1 million more cap than what we are paying him not to play for us this year. It was all about satisfying Ryan's ego and getting rid of Mario.
We were just a QB and a couple of players away from a decent roster before Ryan. Now we are a team in yet another 3 year rebuild mode again.
One of the few bright spots this year is we MIGHT have a possibility of a bridge QB for the next couple of years and time to develop a QB of the future.
Not going to even comment on the rest of the drivel but sounds like we should all hide out in our bunkers like you as it will be a rough year. Yea, right....
-
Agreed. It took Mularkey over a decade to get another HC job (the interim HC jobs aside)Think the owners stick together when you screw one of them (by exercising the santa claus) you screw them all...he'll get another chance but only after he learns his lesson..hell, he might be back in Buffalo after the Twins tank and Mario has 20 sacks for New England
-
your right. We should move on from Kyle and Aaron Williams too 😳We absolutely have to move on. For the simple fact that he was being depended on within our offense and he's not reliable. You can't put yourself in a position to have a guy be important and then not be there. It's just not worth it even though his skills when healthy are very very good.
-
huh? In addition to being a film room junkie, he is a workout warrior. Not sure he can put much more bulk in without it impacting 2 KEY areas that are critical: his throwing capability and his elusiveness. Unfortunately he just has a slimmer build and is not ideal height...which is probably the biggest reason he dropped to the 6th roundAgree, that is the biggest area he needs to improve on. Getting physically stronger wouldn't hurt either.

This absolutely is a Charles Clay week. The Bills will 100% need to pass the ball to open up the running game. This game will NOT go down like the Miami week where they run a lot and eventually just get some big plays.[/quote
I agree on Clay being a big part, as well. He was a big part of the first Miami game and you could see them focusing on him (and the run) in the 2nd which left Sammy in single coverage. Woods, Hogan and Shady on swings out of the backfield will also be bigThis absolutely is a Charles Clay week. The Bills will 100% need to pass the ball to open up the running game. This game will NOT go down like the Miami week where they run a lot and eventually just get some big plays.

Before that he played Right Wing for the San Francisco Giants back in the 1870'snothing - except that he wasn't the LB coach here, he was the DL coach. He coached LBs in NE.

Everything was clear and in full HD with no chop for me. Much better than my local Fox channel which is heavily compressed and 720p at bestI'm sure they only count legal streams
My stream was always choppy during the game but the commercials were not for me as well. And the commercials looked to be in full HD resolution whereas the game never was.

Really going out on a limb here, but he mentioned Alabama perhaps because they are an active college dynasty winning many national championships of late. Very good example to prove his point that they would win far less if you raised their SAT requirement. Can you make an argument to disagree with his premise? I'm sure Marcell Dareus would still have gone to Alabama if the SAT requirement was raised to 1000+. As for the hot tub comment....you must be just jealous because that is a great idea and typical of an underclassman. We put a blue tarp in the back of a pickup truck and filled it up with water from our apartment at my college....kept the hot water running and just cycled between 3 apartments as the hot water tanks emptied. That's college and great memories!
