Man… I watched every game of this kid’s career. He played hurt, he played sick, never said a word when he was sitting and learning behind vastly inferior players, never took a play off, was a leader in the locker room.

I know you can’t know what’s in a guys heart but I have a VERY hard time believing that he’s dropping due to heart.

Size and injury feels exceedingly more likely.

Thanks for the insight. At the end of the day we should be fielding a team of the best football players. I feel like they are putting too much thought into this. Find good football players and put them on the field.

If we are trying to be reasonable hopefully the gm/coach gets fired after missing the playoffs

They will just say it was a rebuilding year and run it back again. Josh will be in his 30's by the time they have figured out they wasted his prime

It's hard to believe anything you hear on the week of the draft, but one report I heard said he may not be 100% for the first season, if not unavailable for some of it

There's rumors of Worthy going in the top 10 to someone like the Raiders or Dolphins who love speed.  I can't see the Dolphins doing it with all their other needs, but it wouldn't be the first time that someone overdrafted a guy because of his 40 time

Based on this it could be possible Brian Thomas would be available at 28 anyhow or maybe we trade up like 2-3 spots like usual to get our guy if they really did target him

The closer we get to the draft the more I want us to move up to 8 and grab Odunze. I don’t expect him to slip past Chicago. I know this mortgages our future, but Odunze has character, intelligence, and elite skills. He’d be perfect for Allen. If we can’t make that happen, I’d be okay to move out of the first round altogether and take 2 WR’s to buck the odds.

Plus you get him for 4 years at a super cheap salary vs paying someone 25-30m per in free agency

You're using the Senior Bowl as a measuring stick?  He played in the SEC and destroyed his competition at South Carolina in 2023.

The one-year-wonder conversation is more nuanced.  There were a lot of circumstances involved with that, including a late shift to the position and a motorcycle accident, among other things.

I'm not advocating a trade up.  But I'd be happy with him at 28.

I'll say this. I'd be happier with Leggette at 28 than I would trading up for Brian Thomas who I think is a pretty similar skill set. BTJ is a slightly better athlete but Leggette is thick and can be a returner and a blocker as well so it's really what's your flavor kind of thing. But if the Bills spend a lot to trade up for BTJ I think that's pretty stupid as I think you can trade BACK and still get Leggette at the top of round 2

The only thing I can think is that BTJ is younger and maybe Brady has some inside knowledge on him or something. Otherwise I think it's a dumb move. They would be mortgaging the future in hopes that there's more to BTJ than meets the eye and maybe there's not.

  6. Latu seems like one of those guys where he keeps dropping and dropping and everyone is going crazy and then Bills come up and pass on him too and everyone is like wtf and then we find out he failed medicals, something draft people aren't privy to. And then the Cowboys or Chiefs draft him and he's an all pro lol

  7. How about our extra 4th this year and next year's #1 to go up to #9 with the Bears? Maybe we will throw in like a 6th or something this year as well to help sweeten the deal. The Bears only have 4 picks in this year's draft so if they could add 2 more plus a #1 next year it would be to their benefit. They are already pretty stacked at WR, Odunze would be their #3 option on their offense (DJ Moore, Keenan Allen).

  8. Rumor is that QB's will go 1-4 so that drops the top 3 WR's a bit and one of those guys might fall out of the top 10. It wouldn't be too crazy to think they could get to around 10 if they gave up next year's #1 while still maintaining a high 2nd rounder (Vikings 2nd from Diggs trade) which could act as their 1st if they believe they are going to pick around 30 anyhow. Vikings 2nd is likely top 35-40 so they wouldn't be totally screwed for next year.

Rome Odunze - welcome to Buffalo

Can I ask you guys why you think Xavier Leggette is so clearly not a 1st rounder?

If he was a round 1 guy he would have destroyed the competition at the senior bowl. He did not. He had 5 years in college and was only good for 1 of those years when by then he was 2-3 years older and more seasoned than everyone else. He has had a lot of drops. I think he can be a faster Gabe Davis type. Would you use a 1st round pick on Gabe Davis? I like him but not in round 1. To me he's a 2nd rounder
