  1. I think Grayson is who Grayson is. He's already playing at his highest potential, which isn't all that great. Petty has a higher ceiling but is also a bigger risk. Tough call, not sold on either of them but here we are in a position where we need a QB and there aren't any good free agents or guys in the draft (unless you are picking 1st)

  2. I get your sentiment. But trades aren't that easy to make. Someone has to be on the block worth trading for. In your Foles scenario, what would you give up if you were Whaley? And what leads you to believe Foles is that good?

In the other thread I laid out a scenario where Mariotta drops out of the top 5 and the Eagles trade their 1st and 2nd and next year's 1st to move up. We could grab Foles for our 2nd and another pick next year based on how well he plays. So in the end all it would cost Philly to move up would be next year's 1st which is pretty cheap if they think Mariotta is their QB for the next decade

  3. Foles would be a solid pickup but I don't see philly getting mariotta so they would have to keep foles.

Philly could trade this year's 1st and 2nd and next yr's 1st or something to make it happen. We could give them our 2nd and another pick based on performance for Foles. So basically it would only cost them their 1st next year to move up. That's not a bad deal for them if they think Mariotta is their QB for the next decade. I think RG3 cost the Skins 3 firsts if I'm not mistaken

  4. "At all costs" easy to say but who do you envision them going after and what do you envision as "all costs"?

It's hard to say as each situation will be different but I feel as though we need a QB more than any other team. So whatever the going rate is for any of the available guys plus 1. If it's at all possible to get a Bradford or Foles then make it happen. I don't want to see us sit back and have the Texans trade for one of those guys for example. If there really is no one good available then get Sanchez and Locker and let them battle it out with EJ but keep the trade talks going as those other guys or better might be available mid season.

The Eagles might be crazy enough to trade up for Mariota so the Bills better be in on that if it happens. Give them some picks for Foles and then the Eagles can use those picks to trade up. Work all of the angles and be ready to deal if the opportunity arises.

Bottom line is if there is a way to get better at QB then the Bills better be doing all they can to make it happen. No more lets give EJ another shot and see what happens and if he fails we have this crappy veteran as a backup. And If I see another team trade to get a good QB and we don't then I'm going to be upset. Get a QB in FA, trade for a QB, draft a QB. And let the best man win

  5. @KevinMassare: According to source: the Bills "are still very much on the hook for EJs rookie deal, would make no sense to let him go right now

Just like any of us with at least half a brain could conclude, they owe EJ money from his rookie deal so they aren't cutting him without giving him a shot to compete. He's at least an adequate backup.

This blows up LMO's story that they would cut EJ. That made no sense anyhow. They still have to pay him so why not give him a shot to compete? Even if they bring in 3 more QB's I still want to see EJ compete with them and let the best man win
