    Is this one of those moral victory threads? We never win it all but enjoy the slightly better than average results.

     

    We are in the same position as the 31 other teams. Let's see how they do first before we congratulate anyone.

    There is currently zero incentive for fiscal responsibility in government. If anyone cuts any program then people freak out and you lose your next election. You get elected by promising to give away more money towards whatever cause, not take away. Why would anyone in government want to do the right thing in that case? It would be political suicide

    You are off the rails. Can't take anyone seriously who can't look at things objectively. You keep saying maga and most of us aren't any party let alone a party that doesn't exist. If there was a better alternative to Trump I would have voted for that. There's only 2 parties so not much of a choice. If Dems weren't complete nutjobs the past 4 years people might have voted for them. Instead you get Trump and there's nothing you can do about it. You are shouting into the abyss.

    Anyone who is mad at this all I can say is the Dems had 4 years to change things and they went full r*tard with a senile old man, letting millions of unvetted people through the border (many of them legit gang members and criminals), all of the woke crap, sky high inflation, and dangerous rhetoric about how the entire other half of the country are Nazis. This is what you get in return now. A spending bill to undo all of the destruction they caused. Now if Trump loses there will be a spending bill to undo what he did and so on and so on forever.

    I know a lot of healthy people that all of a sudden have heart conditions that they are referring to as "long COVID" when in actuality they were vaccine injured by an experimental drug that was forced on people that did absolutely nothing in the long run.

    In this specific case we once again see Trump's personal desires - to punish CBS for favoring Harris over him - run up against his total control of the Executive Branch and the very real threat that the FCC will do his bidding by messing with Shari Redstone's plan to sell the company. In this way it is a corrupt settlement. And everyone who's looked at it objectively has agreed.

    Legally it might not have succeeded at trial as you say but we all know what happened here. A media company got busted for purposely changing a candidate's (they favored) answer to put them in a positive light. Whether that had a quantitative impact on votes is hard to say. But the damage is done. Nobody should trust CBS news ever again. What else are they spinning?
