  1. Child labor laws didn’t do the leg work to end child labor in the US, capitalism did. Almost all child labor had been eliminated prior to legislation being passed. Innovations which made workers more productive had eliminated the need for their labor in the economy. The only child labor those regulations eliminated was that of people in families living in poverty and orphans, two groups which depended on the ability to work to survive.
  2. And there’s the rub. No one thinks regional squabbles are a great thing for the people who live in those regions. However *these are sovereign nations we should not be occupying and dictating to*.
  3. Horseshit. You're advocating for an interventionist military as foreign policy doctrine. That’s the reality. Real American lives being placed in harms way, at the cost of American treasure, to settle regional disputes and impose American diplomatic norms on counties in another hemisphere. That’s empire. That’s vassalism. Cry foul about the pregnancy analogy all you want, but I’m disallowing your mental gymnastics. You want to engage in a special pleading fallacy to justify anti-Trump interventionism as moral, because “reasons”. It’s a ridiculous and logically inconsistent position to take. Just admit you're a neo-Cheneyite, perpetual war, boots on the ground imperialist. You’re pregnant.
  4. You’re making an argument in favor of “a little bit pregnant”. You’re either with child, or you aren’t. You’re either an occupying force, or you aren’t. You’re either the world’s police force, or you aren’t. Wether you’re capable of honestly assessing your position or not, your argument is that America should use it’s military to impose our will on other nations in their own disputes against each other, or their own internal squabbles. It is an argument for soft empire, and for vassal states.
  5. Polls are not used to gauge public opinion. They are a PsyOp used to drive public sentiment.
  6. The Kurds are not being abandoned. They have been trained and supplied for several years now with the purpose being self-sustainability. The alternative is, whether you care to admit it or not, a permanent American military presence in areas of the world which don’t behave the way Americans want them to. A denial of the sovereignty of nations. A declaration that all other states are simply vassals. As to globalism? Globalism is inevitable. Technology integrates all economies and allows all peoples to interact, should governments not interfere in that communication. But globalism doesn’t need to mean a loss of sovereignty. Just as I abhor the idea of forcing other nations into vassal status with our occupation; I also abhor the idea of subjecting America to international laws, surrendering our own sovereignty to the collective will of nations whose interests may not be our own.
  7. No, our country is not directly responsible. Directly responsible would be the people who took the positive action. Follow up question: should the United States be the police force of the world? Because that’s the alternative. It’s amazing how fast liberals became neo-cons in their zeal to oppose this President.
  8. By becoming unprincipled both sides become my enemy. I barely tolerate the existence of the state as it stands.
  9. Then what the hell makes you different, and why should I support one over the other rather than bidding my time and shooting at both?
  10. “He’s back there making sandwiches.”
  11. I don’t have an erection. You have an erection.
  12. How is it possible that our special teams play hasn’t improved in like 20 years regardless of coaching and personnel changes? I swear to God it’s like watching Groundhog Day. It’s absolutely improbable.
  13. Man, Lorax closed the space quickly. He plays so much younger than his age.
  14. Of course not, Joe. This is Two Bills Drive. We don’t do harmony.
