  1. Absolutely thrilled! Got two edge rushers in Mario and Anderson, a huge corner with shut down potential, a LT with the size of an elephant and a speedster. I'm really happy. And for those not happy about the TJ pick, tell me you knew any of the 20 picks after him? A punter went next...

Totally agree. I am happy with everything they have done besides the last pick in the 3rd round. We could of traded one of our two 4th round picks for Randle who easily would of been our 2nd WR on this team.

  2. Ranked as the 24th best WR. WOW.....

    Height: 5-11. Weight: 188.

    40 Time: 4.41. 10-Yd Split: 1.47.

    Vertical: 33.5.

    Broad: 10-0.

    Arm: 31 3/4. Hand: 9.

    Projected Round (2012): 5-6.

4/24/12: Graham had a nice week at the Senior Bowl. He was a quick wide out who showed the ability to be a slot receiver in the NFL. Graham performed well at the Combine also, putting up one of the fastest 10-yard splits. He had 46 receptions for 757 yards and seven scores this season. Graham also returned 44 kicks averaging 22 yards per return. In the previous three seasons, his highest reception total was 25. He is one of the better returners in the draft and that helps his stock.

  3. I was curious about this, so I did some research. Here are the 64 projected starting CBs in the NFL for the 2012 season, and the round they were drafted in:

    Buffalo-Williams 2 Florence 2

    Miami-Davis 1 Smith 2

    New England-Dowling 2 McCourty 1

    New York Jets-Revis 1 Cromartie 1

    Baltimore-Smith 1 Webb 4

    Cincinnati-Hall 1 Newman 1

    Cleveland-Haden 1 Brown 3

    Pittsburgh-Taylor 3 Brown 3

    Houston-Joseph 1 Jackson 1

    Indianapolis-Thomas 3 Powers 3

    Jacksonville-Ross 1 Mathis 2

    Tennessee-McCourty 6 Vernor 4

    Denver-Bailey 1 Porter 2

    Kansas City-Flowers 2 Routt 2

    Oakland-Spencer 2 Bartell 2

    San Diego-Jammer 1 Cason 1

    Dallas-Carr 3 Claiborne 1

    New York-Giants Webster 2 Thomas 2

    Philadelphia-Asomugha 1 Rogers-Cromartie 1

    Washington-Wilson 2 Hall 1

    Chicago Jennings-2 Tillman 2

    Detroit Houston-2 Berry UDFA

    Green Bay-Woodson 1 Williams UDFA

    Minnesota-Winfield 1 Cook 2

    Atlanta-Robinson 1 Grimes UDFA

    Carolina-Gamble 1 Munnerlyn 7

    New Orleans-Robinson 1 Greer UDFA

    Tampa Bay-Talib 1 Barber 3

    Arizona-Peterson 1 Jefferson UDFA

    St. Louis-Finnegan 4 Fletcher 3

    San Francisco-Rogers 1 Brown 5

    Seattle Sherman-5 Trufant 1

27 were drafted in the first round (42%), and another 17 (26.5%) were drafted in the 2nd. That means that over 2/3 of the starting CBs in the league were drafted in the first 2 rounds. Not sure how it compares to other positions (I don't have THAT much time on my hands), but it looks like starting CBs mainly come from the top 2 rounds. Whether or not that changes your perception at all (or whether it should for that matter), is not for me to say.

Just thought I'd present the info for those interested.

    /Thread.

  4. As I said, criticize the player...fine, everyone has their own opinion. Criticize the pick for being a DB...ignorrant as far as I'm concerned. Nobody can tell me that a great DB doesn't make an impact on your defense.

I hope this is sarcasm...DB means "defensive back", which encompasses cornerbacks AND safeties...sheesh.

On the other hand, if it was sarcasm, then well played.

  5. +1 I was going to post this when I signed in here but this sums it up. Hoping for offense, Floyd at WR was there, and Reiff. I have a feeling Floyd is going to be nasty. (good) Never heard anything about Gilmore. He didnt crack the slightest smile when it was announced. Maybe he was as surprised as I was. His highlight tape didnt look special. Surprised with who was left that we didnt trade down at the least. I feel we made a mistake passing on Floyd. I just have that feeling.

Disagree with this. Could not be more happy with the Bills 10th overall pick! Gilmore was projected to go at number 8 overall in nearly every mock draft. We totally got a steal. Not only is this guy a honor student and a 3 year starter (Even in his freshman year) But he has guarded Julio Jones and AJ Green and did a great job at the college level against these WR who have been amazing at the NEXT level. Whoever is disappointed, should not be...The Bills made there selection within 10 seconds... It was an obvious choice! Now LT/LB/WR in the next few rounds! GO BILLS!!!

If you have not heard about Gilmore you were not following the 23532532 mock drafts which had Gilmore from 7th to 9th overall...

Did you see Palamalu's film out of college? Fantastic, just like he is today. Flying up and down the field, always around the ball. No way Id compare the two. It does fill a need I agree, but he wasnt worth a 10th.

Pol is a safety not a db.... :wallbash:

  6. So I actually read all 17 pages of this thread, and I came away learning absolutely nothing about Gilmore. VERY disappointing, guys. For the past 3 years, Gilmore played in the best football division in the country and covered some of the very best WR talent. Can't we talk a little more about that stuff and less about the value of the CB position?

And for the record, Whitner and McKelvin were different players drafted by a different regime. If Gilmore develops into a quality #1 CB at the pro level, then this was a great pick...regardless of this franchise's dubious draft history with DB's.

TOTALLY AGREE! The guy has a laid back personality. Just look at this video...Guy is going to be a STUD!
