Diggs wasn’t separating at the end of last year and the film showed it.  He was either slowing down or not giving same effort - the result was the same, regardless. Allen actually had far less ints after the OC change, and it coincided with targeting Diggs and Davis less.  For instance, prior to Denver game 97 targets 834 yds, 7 TDs for Diggs, and from DEN on 63 targets 349 yds, 1 TD.   Davis and Allen were clearly not on same page many games, and Josh had the highest Int % per attempt throwing to Davis.  To me it’s no surprise neither is on the roster anymore. Is there a drop off in talent?  Yes, but chemistry is important and no doubt we still have questions about the chemistry with the new look WRs.  Claypool is talented and it’s not much of a gamble, and if he can’t play with Allen his career is pretty much over.  Claypool has all he could ask for in terms of opportunity and if he does put in the work it could be a sneaky good signing.  I get that’s still a big IF.

Keeping Diggs and Davis would have been a worse decision then moving on from them seeing how neither was integral to winning when the Bills stopped effing around at end of season.

Only time will tell, let’s see how we feel at end of next season. I hope you’re right.

Who were all these separators last season when Allen had an MVP worthy season?

Easily diggs, he was on fire first half of season. Allen had 2nd most Ints in the league last year? Was a rather weak MVP season overall, compared to previous years. Defenses realized that once you took diggs away it was tough for us to get the ball moving. Who is getting doubled teamed or taking the pressure away next year?

They want BIG and Athletic.  Speed is good, don't get me wrong, but they are seeming to push for big, physical WR's and that is what Joe Brady had his year as OC with HIS offense down at LSU.  No more getting bullied at the LOS, and hopefully a lot more contested balls.  It also brings a greater Catch radius for Allen to hit on when his passes are slightly off.

Look I get it, Fans want splash they want exciting and we tried that with smaller, faster WR's and it didn't work.  I am excited to see this new approach to be honest, and if we get the running game going, then we are going to see somewhat less exciting 8, 10,12+ play drives that eat the clock and keep guys like Mahomes and Kelce on the bench and hopefully lead to more TD's.

It could also mean more Ints for Allen as he isn’t the most accurate passer. Separation from speedy receivers helps lower the chances of Ints. Are you really pinging your hopes on consistent contested catches? I’d 100% prefer more separation. I really only care about big and tall in the red zone.

Maye has way more to correct then Caleb Williams... Including a not perfect release and playing weaker in the pocket despite giving 20 lb to Caleb...

There's a reason why the 6'2 220 lb quarterback went over the 6'4 235 lb guy

The bigger guy has the look...  But his faults do not bode well to the NFL unless he corrects a lot... Including a longer release, struggles under pressure and times gets lost with his reads

Caleb Williams can go from his first to his fourth read.. is the strongest in the pocket in the draft..  super super plus arm with velocity and is a better athlete

Maye didn't take the step this year that I thought he would... He's also very young and raw... He's a guy that is going to take 3 years but he does have a lot of talent

I’m scared of Maye too, what you just said are the same things they said about Allen

Kind of proves my point. Rice and Moore aren't exactly good based on where they were selected. QBs shouldn’t have a say in talent evaluation. They had the worst wr core in NFL last year with the most dropped passes.

This must only happen in football, I follow hockey pretty closely and no NHL players are involved in selecting draft picks they want to play with. Just doesn’t happen.

There's zero harm in showing the QB/leader of your team respect by being open to hearing his thoughts.

Then if his wants match up with what you were planning on doing anyways, he's just that much more invested in manifesting success.

10000% disagree, do any other teams incorporate this strategy into their draft philosophy besides the Bills? I’ve literally never heard of such a thing. Do you think Sidney Crosby tells the GM who he likes or wants to play with?

Nah…They are in contention for a SB every year as long as 17 BB and Mcd are around. A lot of words though

Then we end up being the chargers with Rivers era, really good and make playoffs every year, but never make the big one. Are people here really okay settling for that?

You have a QB that's a Maserati. He's built for bombs away. But instead of building your offense for that, you build it for plodding, 10 yards at a time max, 10 minute drive offense. So I ask, what is the point?

What's the point of having a guy who's designed by nature to bomb the football deep and whose weakness is dink and dunk stuck in an offensive scheme that is built to do just that?

Why not offload him for someone who's better suited for that kind of thing if you refuse to play to his strengths? That's what I can't wrap my head around. It makes no sense.

Beane likes his guys. Good character, slow, and tough

And how would you have prevented KC from getting Worthy?

Other than drafting themselves, a guy they didn't want who likely the Bills don't think it going to be that good, just so KC doesn't get him.

As has been pointed out, KC's record with drafting WR wasn't that good.

So was Worthy the guy you were hoping they'd pick at 28, if so can at least understand why you're mad.  But this entire cut off my nose to spite my face argument is really dumb!

Actually I'm thrilled they didn't take a 165 pound WR and got extra picks out of it.

We took Coleman, run along now…

If they Bills had wanted Worthy, they could have drafted him, but they didn't, so think it's a safe assumption to say they didn't want him.   So what should the Bills have done drafted Worthy anyway even if they don't think he's any good just to prevent KC from getting him?  And what would have stopped KC from still getting him by either waiting until 32 or trading up with another team?

So explain to me how they could have prevented KC from getting him?  Love to hear this one!

Great idea!!  Love the way you think!!

KC has a much better judge of who’s good and who’s not judging by their 3 Super Bowl rings.

  11. So many bills fans make excuses for this team. We’re always a step behind KC. When will you guys admit that? After they beat us a few more times in the playoffs? KC viewed worthy as worth trading up for. We need Wr more than they do. I trust KC mgmt team over ours. It’s pretty simple.

lol….,please explain how this is even remotely the same thing other than in your scared head?  This is gonna get good.  Can’t wait to wake up and see the amazing content you’re about to post while on an emo rant.

Go on!  Please explain how we went through the same thing with McDuffie?  Did we bypass McDuffie?  Did we trade back with KC and enable them to draft McDuffie?  Was worthy the guy we really wanted but KC bamboozled us into thinking he wasn’t actually the guy we wanted?

make it make sense. Like real sense…. Not in your head sense….becasue are two completely different things

I know that Beane doesn’t agree.

    Beane > you.  Facts.

as a GM, you don’t make selections just so your “arch rival” doesn’t get said player.  You just don’t.  Disagreeing just makes you wrong.  Facts

The chiefs did it to us when we needed a db and took mcduffie out from under us. Forcing us to trade up for Elam. What do they know as back to back champs.

Beane, from his presser, could not have cared less about doing a deal with the Chiefs. Bills fans are extremely insecure when it comes to them. Beane obviously is not. He is a professional. He said he was on the phone with 6 or 7 teams and he liked the Chief's offer the most. So he took it. Simple as that.

And do you think that the Chiefs ONLY called the Bills? They could have done the deal at 29 or 30. Or waited and picked Worthy at 32. There was no way to prevent the Chiefs getting who they wanted, just as there is no way for the Chiefs to prevent the Bills from getting who they want.

What are you talking about? We literally went through this when the bills wanted mcduffie and ended up with Elam a few years back. That move cost us and this one will too. Bills are playing checkers, while the chiefs play chess.
