Hypocrites Just note for the record who, once again, has run to court demanding that ballots NOT be examined...at least ballots from traditionally Democratic strongholds. And by the way the recount was triggered by state law when the margin was only 260 votes - law calls for a recount if the difference is less than 2000.

But I know.

Radio Host calls Condi Rice -Aunt Jemima

Well Belafonte called Colin Powell an Uncle Tom too. C'est la vie. It's probably not the first time. At least Belafonte can't be accused of racism. And anyone who's ever read Uncle Tom's Cabin knows that Tom was not a wimp but rather a devout Christian who trusted in his God, suffered much, never compromised his principles or integrity and went to his reward much too early. It's too bad that the name has been twisted to become a negative label. -
With all this opining of what is and isn't racist, I wonder if we even HAVE a person of color on this board who could set us all straight? We may have opinions on gansta rap and racist music but I can pretty much guar-an-tee that there's a whole other paradigm out there that most of us can never see because we can never go there.

And here in Seattle, the other contestant for mother of the year is a fat pig who has a total of seven kids, and who let two of them starve to death this past week. The found hundreds of empty beer cans and momma obviously didn't miss many meals, as the kids wasted away.

The funny thing is that one of the players union reps mentioned our violent society and the war in somewhat the same way. I thought he was full of RKFast. However it is true that if we raise our children to believe that violence is the first and best way to approach conflict, they will deal with conflict violently. If these boneheads were all raised that way then it's a good thing their butts are getting nailed to the wall, so they learn a lesson and serve as an example to others who would follow suit. Shrub is not, to my knowledge, a basketball fan, alas. And his capacity for learning has proven to be dismally low.

I would guess "mental illness".

Very good. No-one would ever accuse YOU of SELECTIVE hate speech.

There was a murder case not that long ago where they played all this hate music, I think it was part of the trial. If not it was included in the documentary about the case. It was disgusting.

Bush breaks up a fight in Chile

I know. I lived there. That's how I knew about it. I also figured it was an abysmal failure, judging by the amount of garbage strewn along the sides of the roads nightly. Every morning I'd walk my dog and marvel and the new crap that appeared overnight, obviously tossed from car windows. We used to pick it up but then gave up. The stinking kids across the street used to litter all over the neighborhood too. Finally I got sick of that and picked up the trash and threw it on their lawns. And we lived in an "upscale" neighborhood in a "blue ribbon" school district. Phooey. -

"Don't Mess with Texas" is an anti-littering slogan. It has nothing to do with the supposedly macho-cowboy-stud image that Texans aspire to. Just a little trivia there. I was surprised to learn it too - it's something they keep kinda quiet. -
Oh just eat my shorts you jerk. Better yet, eat your own.

And if you think a Stepford wife would have any clue about politics or even be aware that a WAR was going on you are truly a dumbass. Lighten up. The damned truck was probably stolen from KBR. Duh.

Until - he resigns - he loses his re-election bid - the neocons force him out - the Dems take over the Senate and he gets kicked out I'm glad to see him win out, he's fairly moderate. Much better than some of the wingnuts running the asylum these days. -
For some reason most of the dogs in that particular shelter are labs. Having had 3 of them I understand why - they need attention and activity. Even if they can't go on long walks just having someone pet them or toss them a ball will work. Anyway if you've ever worked in a shelter system you may have noticed that they sort the dogs out - certainly killer dogs with fangs dripping blood are NOT going to these homes any more than they'd be put in a kennel in a regular shelter to be adopted. They'd go to a special foster home or be euthanized.

Story You may need to register to read all about the TX-registered SUV that was found in Fallalujah, all ready to blow up our troops. I guess we'll be putting sanctions on TX now. Maybe sending in troops. What the !@#$, why not just blow the place to Kingdom Come.

You obvoiusly have never spent $250 on a new comforter for your bed, only to have a cat puke on it the first night it's on the bed. You probably also didn't spend a day shampooing the carpet in your closet, thinking the cat peed there, only to find out the smell was eminating from your prized leather suitcase, from which the small CANNOT be removed ... and you probably have never had to re-upholster furniture nor spackle and repaint walls where the cat decided to give itself a manicure. But an extremist? No. I LOVE cats. They taste JUST like chicken!

It's only for dogs, not cats. I have a cat I inherited but dislike them in general and would think any group that wanted to build a Cat Town was nuts.

I guess it all depends on how they screen the people. I think it's got possibilities and reduces dependence on government handouts, which should be near and dear to most people's hearts on this board. Those who have them that is.

That just can't be possible. LA is a red state, meaning that they value morals highly and are very Christian people. Surely they wouldn't bilk Indians. Must be more liberal pap from the NYT.

Exactly on the dot between liberal and libertarian. No surprise. -
I got a solicitation in the mail for this a couple of days ago and I just think it is an EXCELLENT idea that kills two birds with one stone! A local no-kill animal shelter is being forced to close because (although this place is in the sticks) the neighbors don't like the barking. So they came up with this idea about a dog town - where they are going to actually build a village which would BE the shelter! Their plan is to build this village and rent the housing to low-income senior citizens at a reduced rate. The seniors will house and care for the animals up for adoptions. No more cages for the animals and no dog food for the seniors! What a neat idea. Anyway I have never heard of anything like this, does anyone know if there is one in existence? What a creative way to address the situation. Anyway here is the link if anyone's interested. Dog Town

Then let's not hear about ANY of the deaths, because HEY, we're at war. And while we're at it, why worry about the troops? Their job is ... WAR. So. We don't fret because of looser gun laws that may make our police officers more vulnerable. That's their JOB as cops, to take a bullet for us if needed, right? So then what the hey, if someone's in a war any injury or death is what they should expect and it's just A-OK. That would all be true by your "logic" at least. Myself I prefer that our soldiers down the road NOT be made to pay for the stevestojan at Abu Grabass and this most recent event. But they will. All because of the actions of a few individuals who couldn't control themselves or who were battle-worn and injured and MAYBE should have been convalescing a bit instead of being thrown back into battle.

Relax! According to Bush and Rummy, the "insurgency" is really just a "handful" of people. You make is sound like this small group is really giving the best equipped and trained military in history a hard time. How many times have we declared victory in Fallelujah? And how many soldiers will have to stay there to hold it while we retake some other city? Our system of justice, based on PRINCIPLES (LOOK IT UP) is what makes us different. Things like Abu Graib belie our principles and betray America and what it stands for. Don't scream next time a roadside bomb blows up a bunch of our guys, or a carload of relief workers. All's fair in war.

Interesting isn't it? The people who are now defending this action are some of the same ones who condemned John Kerry for shooting a fleeing attacker in the back? It's not all black and white, is it, much though some of you might like it that way. Ahhhhh I love the smell of hypocrisy in the morning....or any time. It's always thick around here.
