McCargo's agent said the Giants called and were ready to take him at 32. After the Bills grabbed him, they settled for the BC Defensive End.

Ahhh..... the one way street of self righteousness where non-football people are NEVER wrong but Teams are wrong more often than not.
I noticed many players some of these " Experts " had going early in the draft fell to Day 2 or literally off the radar. So when they are finally picked, these players are not "overrated" at all...they are " Steals " . Ahhh....I see. They, the "experts", couldn't be wrong. Impossible.
But when these non-football geniuses project a guy to be picked in a certain slot in various rounds and he winds up going higher, then he's a "Reach"...because these idiots...er..."experts" are NEVER wrong.
Then the final grades roll in - The teams that picked the guys where the "experts" slotted them and made them look good receive an A. The teams that sought players that could help them win and ignored the " experts " rankings, relying on actual film and scouting instead, received no higher than a B- or even a D.
And the Lemmings usually side with the "experts", too lazy to do their own research and usually haven't seen any of these players actually play a game.
Got it.

Mort was absolutely ridiculous. I thought he was going to flip out trying to make his point to Kiper that the Bills reached at 8 and 26. Then this morning he picks the Bills pick of McCargo as his "headscratcher." It's obvious which one of the Tom's Mort is buddies with. It's a shame. I used to like Mort, but I'd be first in line to punch him in the face now.
You'd have to push me out of the way. I want the first shot.

I'm not defending the picks or actually trying to force my Ohio St. loyalty on anyone.
If you don't like the picks, that's fine. Seriously
But if you're basing your analysis on what Kiper, Clayton, Mort or any slanted media dunderhead states, then you're no smarter than a bag of rocks.

I don't care if Ngata or Bing or Jesus Christ provided a better " value ". Most mock drafts look like a joke after day 1.
If "Shiny" name players don't fit what we do and can't help us win football games, they're not worth a damn.

occupation: Defensive Tackle
reason: The Bills won't be forced to take a Defensive Tackle with the 8th pick.
The Bills don't like Bunkley because of character issues and Ngata isn't the type of DT the Bills want in their new scheme. John McCargo on the other hand would be a perfect, PERFECT fit in the Bills new scheme.

OK, I'll play.
We trade down into the 15-20 range, picking up an extra 2nd. Everyone freaks because Bunkley, Justice, Ngata etc. get picked. All is lost.
Then we pick the freakish Manny Lawson from NC State and he replaces Posey. We still get a DT in Round 2, along with an OL and suddenly everyone starts to see it's a pretty good day.

Because fans with a draft guide always know better.
I hope to see selections at DT, S/CB, OL, LB and anything else that helps us win. I don't care what round any of them arrive nor am I obsessively focused on any 1 or 2 players to the point of sick/unhealthy attraction.
Just improve the roster and give the Coaches some talent to work with.
With Mario Williams going to the Texans, the first round will be very exciting with potential trades and surprise picks almost a given.
Going to the Ralph this morning to join several folks from here for a great party inside the Jim Kelly Club.
