  1. What was it exactly that you saw that you wish you hadn't? The guy racked up 159 tackles for goodness sake. Where does he belong other than at MLB? Brian loves him there. Why don't you? Please explain how we effectively get two players for drafting one?? What do we do, play D with 10 players??? Ralph will be delighted. One less player to pay.
  2. This is an interesting point. It appears that Martin was not thinking of quiting the team and citing Incognito's alleged harrassment and locker room atmosphere as the reason he quit when he forwarded those texts to Incognito. If he was, it sure was stupid to engage in the same conduct. He is supposed to be smart having attended Stanford and his mother is an attorney. Those texts show that Martin engaged in the same low life conduct for which he is now blaiming Incognito and the locker room. He was a paricipant, now he's a victim? It just doesn't wash. Does anyone know what period of time elapsed between those Martin texts and the date he quit?? A short period of time would suggest he left for other reason(s). I wonder if he was told he might be cut and he wanted to create a reason for his poor play, other than his poor play, so that he might get another chance with another team.
  3. I think I agree with you regarding Marshaun. I watched that piece. Lynch did look scared. He reminded me of Ricky Williams. Rickey was so frightened of the media spotlight he kept his helmit on while doing his very infrequest interviews. Williams also used marijuana to quell his anxieties. Lynch is also a known user. I am becoming sympathetic to the point that I think the NFL should no longer mandate 1 hr. per player on media day. Some are just not cut out for that and it should not be forced on those players.
  4. Maybe he watched Kiko more than you did. Who can know? One thing I'm quite certain of; Brian is light years ahead of any of us in being able to recognize MLB talent. Furthermore, he doesn't need to see 16 games to know what he's looking at. What else was he going to say about Kiko? He could have said nothing. He could have said he thinks the DROY award should go to Richardson. He didn't say any of that. He said what he said, I think, because he believes in Kiko. Why be a "devil's advocate"? Can't you just be happy the Bills found a really good player to play a position where we needed a really good player? Regarding the issue of "thumper", Kiko was not a soft tackler last season. He hits pretty darn hard. He played at 237 lbs. But he's a very young player who is now going through his first off season training and NFL body building process. He's not likely to stay at 237. Regarding over-pursuit; the Bills' D staff was amazed at his instincts last summer. If he was occasionally over aggressive in his pursuit last season, he'll learn and those occasions will be fewer and fewer as his natural instincts are modified and reinforced with experience. He racked up 159 tackles in his rookie year for goodness sake.
  5. Nice post brother. Those who politic for that 1st. rd. TE or WR or, in this case MLB, chosing to ignore the O-line, point to the 2nd over-all rush stat. They fail to mention the 25th position in run blocking stat. Maybe they don't fully understand what that means?
  6. Perfect. Hard to argue with Brian. These guys that try to impress by talking about gaps, wills, sams etc. want the Bills to mis-position a potentially great MLB. This ain't gonna happen.
  7. Pretty good? Isn't he like consensus DROY? I wish all of our rookies performed as well.
  8. Yes, and we prefer to fill them with good players. Say no to Martin.
  9. I love to watch Lynch run. He is the toughest SOB I have seen in my lifetime; incredibly strong and durable with moves and speed. I wish he was still with Buffalo. Bigger defensive players give him their best shot and he hurts them. However, I think I understand why he avoids public appearances. He doesn't speak english. It's some kind of language that has some english in it. He attended Cal for three years but gives the impression he never entered a classroom. Really looking forward to him selling Skittles.
  10. A report I read said Hernandez threatened to kill Welker because he didn't like Welker's response to a question Hernandez asked him.
  11. I agree. I don't know what our D is exactly. Some say it's mostly a 4/3 with variations of a 3/4. If it's mostly a 4/3, and that is what Schwartz had in Detroit, then Kiko's the man and we would only need another ILB for those occasions when we shift to the varient. Regarding Mosley; he is smallish and suffered a dislocated hip and elbow while at Bama, lost playing time because of those injuries. Additionally, his senior year was not a good as his Junior year. Is he beginning to wear down? I think he's a late 1st rounder because of these concerns.
  12. This kinda supports what my eyeballs have been telling me. Maybe this is a forbidden thing to bring up but I have the impression he might be gay. Something about his mannerisms. There is a story/rumor that his O-line went on vacation together with Incognito and didn't invite Martin. Could it have been a female hunting kind of vacation and his teammates thought he wouldn't be into that? Maybe he's not ready to exit the closit? Maybe I'm misreading him. I don't know. Like someone here said, there's more to this story than misbehaving teammates. As for bringing him to Buffalo for a tryout; he caused great harm to the Dolphin organization. I can't imagine any owner or GM having much enthusiasm for his addition to their team.
  13. I don't think so. Apparent in what way? You know he will never be a top player? You know how every other team rated E.J.? Please tell us; how did Denver rate him? Chicago? Jacksonville? I think drafting E.J. in the first was exactly the right thing to do. First, I think he can develope into a first rate QB. Second, I think a new Head Coach, needing a QB, needs to draft one early. There was talk that Buffalo should wait till next year when the QB class will be better but I'm not sure that is the case with this year's class. Third, drafting E.J. in the first insures that another team won't beat Buffalo to him and gives Marrone a few years of grace time to develop him before the wolves show up..
  14. Isn't it great? I'm hoping for nothing but the worst for that organization. Their what???
  15. Word has it the investigative results will be out soon, Speculation has it that the results will not be super critical of the Dolfhins organization based on the idea that the Dolphins are not out there doing pre-release damage control. Fixed it.
  16. I agree with you that we, on the outside, don't know the full story. I do know this; he quit during the middle of a season, ending his career, bringing a team mate down, and causing his team to scramble for replacements. Hard to Justrify that other than to point to some intollerable circunstance. He failed as a LT and was failing as a RT. I can't help but wonder if, to what degree, knowing he was failing, he used the situation with Ingognito to justify screwing his team as he did. An improvement at Rt over Pears? I don't think so. Pears is in decline but he was and still is a tough dude.
  17. "Paint everyone with the same brush"; that's a nice cleche. How does it apply to this? Yes, there are varieties of personalities in the NFL but all of those varieties need to have several quailties in common, toughness being at the top of that list. Martin wasn't the first to have problems with Ingognito. He was, however, the first to quit. Is it possible that Ingognito treated Martin as he did because he wanted to get him to throw down. He wanted to get him to stand up because that was the only way Martin might make it in the league? The two did seem to have some sort of social relationship judging from their frequest e-mails etc. suggesting to me that Martin did understand that Ingognito was trying to help him. There are and were less talented players in the league that had toughness and dogged determination and were successful, undrafted free agent Wes Welker for example. There were players in the league that had abundant talent but didn't have those other qualities, QB Jeff George for example . They didn't succeed or played as backups throughout their careers. It strikes me that Martin has neither the required talent or toughness or determination to overcome. One other thing, Martin never played guard in college. He was always a LT and played along side very tough LG David DeCastro. Maybe DeCastro protected him to a degree from that bully opponent? If you're not tough enough to play Tackle in the pros which might require more in the line of finesse and technique than toughness, you'll never succeed as an interior linemen where smash mouth ability is generally the order of the day
  18. You really think he'll be on the 49ers' roster at the start of next season???
  19. Yes, absolutely. He's a football player and he quit his team. I want no part of that kind of softness on my team. There are known wacko's that play defense, Sue for example, that would likely be locked in the slammer today if it had not been for football talent. What would he do facing Sue? Complain to the ref that Sue hit him too hard? The NFL is no place for the "can't we all just get along" crowd. I think it's doubtful that we'll ever see him on a NFL roster again. I know a guy who was harrassed in high school. One day someone pushed him once to often. He burst into tears but then he started throwing punches. No one ever bothered him after that. There are times in life when you need to take a stand. That's how you gain respect. There are players in the league who now see this guy as a putz and would love to play against him because they know that when things get down and dirty, he will quit.
  20. I have the impression that Pettine is a charismatic guy who subcoaches will follow. This is not a good thing for Buffalo regardless of how positive those in the Bills' organization appear to be. We are losing half of our defensive staff and starting anew with a new DC and several key assistants and all that brings; new nomenclature, signals, philosophy etc. It would have been great if, after a year of learning, our D could have taken off from there. In some respects, it's back to the drawing board. Maybe Marrone should have known this would happen since Pettine did the same to the Jets. I'll bet he didn't think it would happen so soon. Lets hope Schwartz can gather top assistants but that may be difficult since it's already late in the Lets Hire Some New Coaches game.
  21. Restraint of trade??? The man is under contract. It is within the Bills legal right to compell him to honor it if that is the Bills' wish and sue O'Neil for breach if O'Neil fails to honor it. Cleveland might offer compensation to induce the Bills to let him walk if they want him badly enough.
  22. #1. Hope you're right. #2. They could change the name to Numero Uno College All Star Game. I'd love to see more of the best prospects perform in practice like Senior Bowl prospects do. I'm certain pro scouts feel the same. For example; I really liked Baylor G Cyril Richardson before this game. Not so much now. Completely unaware of Wisconsin LB Chris Borland before this game. Morgan Moses, Virginia OT, might be a 3rd/4th rounder that could help Buffalo at RT. #3. Ford looks like Von Miller did in his Senior Bowl and there are teams that have pass rusher at the top of their wish list. I think he's a sure fire 1st. rounder and I wouldn't be surprised if he goes in the top half of that round.
  23. With such a large number of underclassmen in May's draft, players that in previous years might be 6th or 7th round selections, will be undrafted free agents this year. Last year Buffalo signed a number of good undrafteds. This year's undrafted class should be even better. I hope Whaley is up for it. The players in the Senior Bowl this year were, it's said, not as good a group as last years players. Is it time to invite underclassmen? There were some excellent Senior Bowl players this year however. Dee Ford, Auburn DE, was named MVP. Is he as good or better than Barr an a OLB? Has he moved himself into the top ten. How about Aaron Donald, the Pitt DT, who might be an excellent 3/4 DE for a D like Buffalo's. The best TE in Mobile is said to be C.J. Fiedorowicz a throwback style player. Fiedorowicz might be there for us in the 3rd. T/G Zack Martin is said to have been the best O-lineman. I was thinking of him as an early 2nd rounder Buffalo might grab. Some now think he a top 20 selection. Unless the Bills can trade down and get extra picks, Martin is not likely to be selected by Buffalo since he is not good enough for top 10 and too good to get out of the 1st Rd. Richard Sherman's agent says that his client has become so popular as a result of his TV rant that he may be in line for indorsements worth $5,000,000. If true, how many more stars will start yelling at you through your TV?
  24. You're missing the point. Numark wants a 1st. Rd. TE and has slanted his remarks toward that goal. Nice colors though.
