  1. The fans are the big winners of course.... because the fans were the big concern of both sides throughout the negotiations.

Ticket prices dropped 20%, Season ticket holders no longer need to pay full price for those pre-season exhibitions, PSLs are outlawed, parking cap is $10, drinks are only $3, blackouts are lifted, you don't need to pay for the NFL channel to see Thursday night games......Honey, wake up. It's time to go to work.

  2. I hope the CBA addressed the 'If I hold out this year, as long as I show up by week 11, then it counts as a full year of obligation to my contract'.

It should be that if you miss training camp, the NFL will not approve any new contracts for that player that year.

You sign your name on the contract, you live with it. You know, like real folks.

  3. I hope that the rookie scale is nice and tight like the NBA, where players really don't need agents. You were the number 5 pick, your contract will be this much and for this long. You were the number 12 pick, your contract will be this. Not much negotiating from agents.

You don't hear from NBA Player's agents come rookie signing time and hopefully we don't see Rosenhaus on TV as the big story every year with his rookie holdouts.

  4.

BTW I was at that game. Anybody else here?

Sure, Of course! Wasn't everybody who lives within 200 miles of the stadium?

Just kidding, I was there and it's still something our family brings up now and then.

Almost left.... luckily stuck it out a few more minutes.....then couldn't leave.

Funny how we weren't as cold during the comeback.

Sad that we have to go back this far for the good memories.

  5. I'm admittedly disappointed about no blue pants, but the more I look at the all-white look I have to say it's pretty sharp. These uniforms are so "old school" and I love it.

So for road games played in the snow, we're back to QB's complaining they can't spot the receivers quick enough in the white uniforms and helmet. IIRC that was one on the reasons we went to the red helmet.

  6. my understanding is that you will only get a refund if the game is canceled entirely. if it is postponed, and you are unable to attend on the new date, you are SOL. i've been considering getting away tickets to our first game in KC, but i'm not sure what happens if i buy the ticket from an individual seller and the game gets canceled. to my knowledge, i'd lose my money - otherwise who would i get my refund from? would love to hear otherwise though!

edit: FYI, this is on stubhub: "The NFL lockout isn't settled The NFL is currently in a labor dispute with its players. If the lockout is not resolved by the start of the season, August 1, here is what you should know.

Due to the NFL lockout, there is no guarantee your favorite players will be in the game. If you buy tickets and the game is played, the tickets are yours to use, regardless of who is playing and if the game is rescheduled. If the game is cancelled, we will refund the cost of the tickets plus service and delivery fees."

Where are you getting your info from?

Buffalo Bills Ticket Office states that if the date of the game is changed, a full refund will be offered.

Owners nor NFL Office have mentioned replacement players as a possibility.

Hopefully there hasn't been a lot of people buying up tickets to games that might not happen and there some decent seats left.

This is what I'm trying to find out.

  7. The little ring isn't intended to seal the hole, it's job is to prevent the straw from coming out and being lost. So like Brimley says, the ring goes on the inside and allows you to move around the straw without being able to remove it (except of course when the lid is off).

All this new techology drives me nuts...

  8. Why trade him? I don't understand why everyone is always in a rush to make this team worse.

He is not a true #1 quality receiver and is overpaid based on performance. He does not require double coverage and did not excel even as the #2 receiver when TO was here and drawing the other teams' top coverage corners.

I'm not saying we're better off without him, just that he's not top tier.

  9. I assume that during the 24 hours the NFL was 'in business' enough play books were distributed so all drafted players will have one. But undrafted free agents won't have that benefit and who knows how long it will be before they are even allowed to be invited to join a team. What a huge disadvantage that might be to make the team.

Good thing we had a decent draft.

    Insight anyone? :)
