  1. I think it would be nice for the Bills if the story of this game was about the emergence of someone like Spiller as opposed to the emergence of Maybin.

The Jets are loving the fact that Aaron Maybin making a few plays draws all the attention from their ultra-bust draft choice Vernon Gholston.

It's important for them to prove they can get something for nothing as they are essentially a team built around first round picks and expensive and/or high profile trade acquisitions.

The Bills are the exact opposite. They boast a roster full of hidden gems and freebies and that earns them somewhat of a darling status and a respect with the media that the attention hungry Jets wish they had.

Granted, the Bills success with players like Fitzpatrick, Fred Jackson, George Wilson, Stevie Johnson etc. etc. etc. is actually a bit more of a product of having a roster full of "opportunity" for the past 5-6 years than it is an ultra-keen eye for talent by Buddy Nix. But to the media, it's like an overnight success.

What the Bills need is production from their prime picks. Dareus has been solid from day 1 and has proven he can be dominate a lesser player across from him. But otherwise they haven't gotten much from early picks. Would be great if guys like Spiller, Troupe, Carrington, Williams and Sheppard start making their mark as more than part-time bodies and become impact players.

I am perfectly happy to watch our high draft picks sit on the bench, as long as we keep winning with the UFAs and hand-my-down players.

  2. Alot of attention this week is how the Jets will stop our offense or can our offense score on the Jets defense....but can our defense do it again.....

Last week: we got soo much pressure with just Johnson, Edwards, Dareus, and a rotation of Kelsay and Moats.....switch allowed sheppard and Barrett to fill wholes and take away quick read

The 2nd secondary did a wonderful job at taking away the first option....Sanchez isn't a great QB...but he is a capable one...his first option is Dustin Keller then Holmes and finally Buress in the redzone.....

Not impressed with the Jets offense but they can run the ball and they use the play action and roll out plays well..... but if we can get pressure without blitz and make sachez feel the need to throw the tough passes .... I thank we can have a repeat.... on defense

I would love it if Dareous had 2.5 more sacks than the entire Jets D.

  3. Fred is just as fast or faster than Spiller with regard to game speed.

He hits the hole stronger, and he definitely pass protects better. (Against a blitzing team this is huge)

If we are going to do a two back set, I would rather have Corey the FB in the there any day of the week, and you bet that Fitz and Freddy would agree. Chan obviously does.

    What he said.

Giving your high draft pick a chance to develop is not a good reason to risk losing a must-win divisional game.

If you really want to boost Spiller, put him in at Miami so Freddo can rest up to play the Jets in NJ.

  4. There's something special about this team and this year. I think this game cements what the Bills players already know, that they're a real good team and that they expect to win the division and make the playoffs.

Will Rex, Sanchez, Plax and Maybin derail this solid Bills teams at home with so much at stake? Aaaaaah no...I just don't see it happening.

We've got a great bunch of guys right now who will fight tooth and nail as to not disappoint their team mates.

In the end, the Jets and their fans will be left wondering why they felt so darn good going in with Sanchez and Green, while the Bills had the real difference makers in Fitzpatrick and Jackson, on their side.

I'm glad they expect to win, and they SHOULD expect to win. But they are coming off the bye and this will be a tough game. Not taking nothin' for granted.

  5. Im annoyed again.

Pats have the #16 hardest schedule in the nfl.

Bills have the #2 toughest schedule in The nfl. That pisses me off to begin with. Whatever, I knew that at the beginning of the season.

But check out the pats last 5 games

This sucks!!!! They will win how many games in a row??????

Admiral Ackbar says: IT'S A TRAP!

  6. i'll tell you why. because he was a first round pick. he's a great athlete. one of the fastest guys on the field. has the potential to be a star. and unfortunately he's playing behind one of the best running backs in the league right now. and the good fans want to see there talented player have a breakout game. i guess that basically sums it up.

    go spiller. go bills.

Those are all reasons we should keep the ball with Freddo. Spiller is all those things you mention, yet has not produced. Fred on the other hand is an UFA from a no-name school and he is lighting it up. That's the guy I'm rooting for.

I wish the best for Spiller but Freddo is the Man right now, and we are playing a tough opponent Sunday in a game that could determine whether we end up in the playoffs. Feed Fred!
