Since NSD is now over, some people are probably interested in how their teams/school did according to the rankings. I went and retrieved the top 10 from 4 ranking services (Scout, Rivals, ESPN, MaxPreps). If anybody knows any other lists or services, feel free to add them to this thread. Based on the 4 rankings, looks like Florida has the #1 recruiting class. From an SEC standpoint: Awbarn landed a pretty good class this year, and may have been helped by the situation and "going ons" at UGA. Georgia still has no DC (Kirby Smart from Bama has declined the position until this point), and Richt's position as HC could become unstable if his team has another lack luster year. Richt built a pretty strong and competitive program, but in the last couple of years, his teams have drastically under achieved. Yes, the Bulldawgs went 8-5 last year (with a bowl win), but the Dawgs went 4-4 in the conference, and 2-3 in the East division. They got whipped by Tenn and lost to Kentucky. That will not earn you lots of love in Athens. LSU landed another top 10 class (and the early 2011 class is also looking good), thus proving Miles sure knows how to recruit, but still leaves people questioning his ability to coach. Les has made some made major coaching gaffes, and it has cost his team. While I do not think he is in trouble this year, another year of questionable decision making leading to losses could have the higher ups in Baton Rouge deciding what the limit is on stupidity.

You're right. But this recall is the 6th largest in the history of the US. Toyota can spin all they want that the suspension of sales was voluntary (It wasn't), but the suspension of production indicates a much more serious problem than Toyota is willing to admit. You don't stop producing 8 car lines because of "faulty" floor mats.

Wow. In terms of ignorance, this post ranks right up there. Just because somebody took "a few hours of classes" doesn't mean they automatically are filing business returns, or anything remotely complex. To do that, experience, more class time, and testing is required. Do you have any clue who works at the local H & R Block office? You would be surprised at who you might find there. You might find a retired IRS agent, possibly one or more enrolled agents, tax accountants, and yes, even CPA's. And regarding those few hours to learn about taxes, H & R Block had to institute a clause in it's basic training contracts. Turns out independent tax return companies and "tax pro" CPA's were sending people to the H & R Block classes for training. If you feel confident in your abilities, go for it. Just be aware like any computer program: garbage in = garbage out. More ignorance. Most people I know in the tax return business wish those tax return loans would go away. The stupid things are a PITA, and cause more headaches than they solve. Unfortunately, a lot of clients WANT those loans, and will seek out those companies that do it. H & R Block itself does not do the loans. HSBC handles the refund anticipation loans for the Block. And I'm guessing you believe when you go to a CPA to have your tax return done, you actually believe the CPA does your return.

Actually, they already tried that. Then they tried blaming the floor mats. Take out the floor mats, problem still happens.

IIRC, I thought NBC got busted with the GM gas tank brooha.
-
Possibly. And it should be noted most recalls are NOT ordered by the NTSB. As for Toyota taking action, they have no choice. They have been trying to bury this problem for a while, and it keeps popping up to bite them in the ass.

Starting next year, the IRS is requiring professional tax preparers to become registered (for a fee). To become registered, a tax preparer will have to pass a competency test (for a fee of course). No grandfathering. To maintain registration, each tax preparer will need to take continuing education of at least 15 hours a year.** Active attorneys, CPA's, and enrolled agents are exempt from the CE requirements (they have their own CE requirements already) Preparers will need to re-register every three years. **Side note: for those bashing H & R Block, said company requires it's people to take 24 hours of CE every year. Does that mean H & R Block is "superior"? No. It means going to the Block is potentially no better or no worse than going to any other "tax pro".

There are two ways to declare sales tax. One: Like you said. Save every bloody receipt for everything bought, and add all up the sale tax. Two: Use the safe harbor number, (an estimated amount taken from a table, and dependent upon your income), plus all large purchases (cars, boats, etc ...).

Oh yeah, she's definitely a doer.

For about the past 3 years (IIRC), you can/could choose to deduct state income tax paid or sales tax, which ever gives you the better deduction.

First, WTF does Donte being a millionaire have anything to do with the argument? Secondly, how in the heck do you determine Donte is one of the better leaders on this team? At this point, Donte is nothing more than a loud mouth attention seeking leader wannabe. He defended Jauron to the point he told Bills fans there are 31 other teams to root for. Yet, the same Donte seemed to change his tune once Fewell took over. Donte needs to STFU. If he's a leader in the locker room, these public out bursts do nothing to enhance that position, and only make him look like an idiot.

That Shannon O'Keefe has potential, but I would need to see more evidence.

Never underestimate the influence of "basic" or "simple" in music. The world's most recognizable musical piece is not considered hard to play. In fact, it starts off with 3 simple notes. The musical number? Beethoven's 5th Symphony, first movement. As for who Angus Young influenced (FWIW): "His work with AC/DC has been an influence on bands ranging from Guns N' Roses, Slayer, The Cult, Jackyl, Metallica, and Def Leppard to newer artists like Disturbed, Jet, Alter Bridge, Buckcherry, Airbourne, The Darkness, Rob Tognoni, Wolfmother, and You Am I." Remind me how many he had again? I remember one top 5, back in 2008. Was there a second during his tenure? Regardless, he wasn't a good HC.

Can we assume you swapped it with a known working cable? Did you google your make and model to see if others are having the same problem? (like possible hardware failure) Some out of the box suggestions: Assuming you are behind a router, do you have admin access to it? If so, check to make sure somebody else hasn't accessed it, and blocked your box. Try rebooting your router. (long shot, but suggesting it based on personal experience with a similar problem).

Ok, fine. But why Buffalo? What's the connection? Buffalo hired a recycled coach? Marty and Norv were both recycled head coaches when the Chargers hired them. Is he trying to portray the Chargers as "harmonious" unlike those "dysfunctional" Bills? But why use the Bills when the Raiders are in the same division as the Chargers? You think Chargers fans are completely in tune with what's happening in WNY as compared to what's happening in Oakland? -

The Chargers may not be a punchline at this point in time, but even in 2002, the perception was different. Nobody was talking about how great and stable the Chargers were when the team was throwing big money at second rate talent like Tim Dwight, Wiley, and Alexander (IIRC). Trying not to be disrespectful, the best thing to happen to the Chargers this decade was the death of Butler. -
Just admit it. You are addicted. You can't hep it.

Loved the comments by the judges. Even some of the comments left by the people who watched the video are kind of funny;

Seriously? Hey Nick, the Chargers fired Marty (who was a 3 time recycled HC when the Chargers hired him), and hired fricking Norv Turner, a 2 time recycled HC (with a LOSING career HC record at the time). And he's smacking on the Bills because they hired Gailey, a 1 time recycled HC? Is Nick jealous? WTF. So the owner, the GM, and the HC all get along "wonderfully". Great. Let them go sing "Kumbaya" together. Maybe Nickie-poo can join in. But Nick, do everybody else a favor, and just STFU about the Bills. Pooj, Thanks for writing the idiot in attempt to get him to clarify his stupidity.
