  1. This year in particular, the defense has had multiple new players in the games at crucial times because of all of the injuries.  For that reason alone, I give McD a bit of a break calling defensive timeouts (although it bugs me in general).

Here's the update I got on a few of the injuries suffered yesterday:

-Spector is totally fine, will have no issues.

-Benford has a small tear in his meniscus but may be able to play through it. TBD

-Bernard I got less clarity on. My source believes it is a high ankle sprain, but not 100% sure since they were still testing it as of when my source got the information. TBD on if he can definitely return this year or what the return time would look like but thankfully it appears he avoided a truly serious injury.

I have no update on Taron Johnson, or the players that were out against the Steelers. I'll pass along any further updates if I receive them.

Thanks man.  Good news on Spector and Benford.  Isn't Taron a concussion?  Looked like he wanted to go back in.

I still think Tua is an elite franchise QB.

Obviously at some point though he's going to have to win a big game just like Dak Prescott who has also posted silly regular season numbers for years but came up small in the playoffs/big games.

Sure you do.  As a fan of the Fish, what else can you think?

  4. Playoff Josh is a different animal altogether.  This is a Pittsburgh defense that thrives off turnovers, and the national (and sometimes local) narrative on Josh is that he’s a turnover machine (often without proper context).  To play that sort of game with those stakes and come away with four total TDs and no turnovers tells me Josh is locked in and is going to do everything in his power to get the job done without being reckless.

Oh, how the fans of the Fish must watch this and know in their depraved hearts they will continue to play second fiddle in the AFC East as long as Josh is playing…

  5. The fear from Pittsburgh in this matchup was always about the passing game.  If there was any concern it was that Pickens and Johnson had gotten some chemistry with Rudolph and would run around and make big plays for the Steelers.  The weather removes that one little bit of "worry" I had because everybody knows Pittsburgh has to try and run the ball.

It will be low scoring and I don't think the Steelers put more than 10 points on the board.  23-10 sounds about right.

    Go Bills!!!  15-6, Babyyyyyyyyy!!!

  6. I still can't believe all of the worrying in this thread.

    Deleted the other one

I'm as excited as everyone else that we probably have the best chance this season with the Chiefs being vulnerable and the Ravens tendency to choke in the playoffs lately. I just don't have much faith in McDermott being able to make the right decisions when it matters most.

I’m sure you’ll get some bites from the other negative ninnies on the board, but I’d prefer to focus on, and am excited about, what’s ahead of us on the football field.

  8. Buy:  Dawson Knox.  Dude almost always gets a TD at home in the playoffs.  (I also love the Fournette pick here)

Sell:  Long downfield passes and empty backfield sets in this weather.  Need to present the appearance we could run.  I do trust Josh's arm to make those intermediate throws on a rope.

Hold:  Cook.  I understand the concerns but I think he could be good in bad weather.

Dome talk:  nonsense.  The new stadium has SOTA wind confusion technology!

  9. Just put Beane's record up against the other 31 GMs and you realize how good he is.  Nobody is right all the time in this game, and if you're right half the time you look like a genius.  It's so easy to cherry-pick the good and the bad, but compare the overall product and you understand how lucky we are to have him.

  10. ...ok, so first of all, we KNOW Josh should have only thrown the ball to a guy in the endzone or thrown it away.  That was a mistake.  But if you get past that, it was a good throw to an open guy and it looked like Johnson was going to score until Baker blew him up with a helmet to helmet hit at the goal line.  Why no flag there?   It was blatant and knocked Johnson out of the game with a concussion.

mike mcdaniel isn't real. he's that gangley bug eyed kid from SNL playing the role of an NFL coach while pretending to be a 16 yr old kid in the nieghborhood wanting to be cool

the unnecessary cursing, the look and hands in pocket, the weird bug like movements with the hands, he's a joke and i'm glad he's finally getting exposed.

The cursing did stand out to me when I binge-watched the first 5 episodes last night.  Can you imagine McDermott cussing like a sailor in every team meeting and practice? 😂

He's not a joke, he's just not a head coach. He should be an OC cooking up plays in the lab. You are correct about the unnecessary F-bombs. It looks like he's forcing them in an attempt to be relatable to players, but at his core McDaniel is the Yalee that he is. Also, putting the Yale football helmet in his office is a strange touch.

After the first Bills-Fish game he met McD at midfield and told him "I respect the !@#$ out of you."  Who does that?
