I know I may sound stupid, and you can make fun of me, but I am a little nervous about the home opener. With it being the anniversary of the attacks, Im a little nervous about it. Considering how close we are to the border, the amount of people attending, and its a highly publicized event--Im nervous. Just wanted a little feedback about how others feel. Im going to the game regardless, if its my time, its my time.
you're right -- i've been suspicious of those canadiens for a while as well.
just bustin' your chops. no one in this country can be blamed for feeling a little anxiety on that date -- ever.

even better if we're just lying in wait for the team that DOES prepare for it (read: patriots) and gray has something else up his sleeve. man, i'm hoping that's the case.
-
hmm...do i want a cheeseburger or the filet? grape juice or a vintage cabernet sauvignon?
i've been to camp at fredonia. i ONLY enjoyed it because i'm a bills' fanatic. i have the feeling i could take several non-football fans to pittsford and they'd enjoy themselves.

It's scheduled to be replayed at 3AM.
But, so you go into this fully informed: if the game runs over 3 hours (minus halftime) they'll edit it to fit into 3 hours. Also, if TO makes a statement between 3AM and 6AM, they'll likely cut to a Live news conference and you'll have to catch the full game the next time it airs....
ha.
on a somewhat serious note, i wonder if NFL network will air the "home" feed in the first half (tasker/levy). they aired the colts' guys in the first half of last week's game, and the bills' guys in the 2nd.

your point is well taken, steven, but there's another angle here. apparently the bills want to run so many of their exotic blitz schemes in the preseason that they will overload houston when it comes time to prepare for the first game. we'll have to wait and see how that plays out, but at least there is some logic to it.
-
I have a sneaking suspicion that if the Packers were a Bills kind of blitzing team and we weren't, and the Bills weren't prepared for it, and JP Losman was never given a chance to get the ball off because the Packers were blitzing all over the place, TSW would implode over the fact that the Packers were cheaters and you NEVER do that in scrimmages and that's total bush league bullschitt.
honestly, kelly, i'd B word about the coaching staff not preparing for it. that's what i'd be doing if i was a green bay fan and read these articles.

experienced? absolutely. proven? yes again. drew proved beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is nothing more than a slightly below average starting QB in the NFL. i'll take my chances w/ losman and holcomb any day of the week. if the bills are 6-10, it will be a result of circumstances that go far beyond the quality of play at the QB position. i say that without hesitation.
-
i've never rooted for the bills to lose a football game in my life (and never will), and i wanted them to beat pittsburgh and get into the playoffs in the worst way.
my point is that now, LOOKING BACK, those close losses may have been a blessing in disguise. i am very excited about the prospects of the team this year with losman at the helm. what exactly is so difficult to understand or "scary" about that?

i doubt that PP could overcome the shot to his ego. in buffalo he'd have to accept the 3rd or 4th WR role, and probably have to play ST full time. i just don't see it, given his attitude in the past.
damn shame. 2002 was a fun year, watching he and moulds do their thing.

Please tell me you are kidding. I seriously quit. THE GAME WOULD HAVE BEEN OVER. Done. No chance for other "less quality" Bills players to make MORE errors. The so called "Best CB" in the league made it possible for some others to mess up. Some of you people on a coaching staff would be laughable.
Nate Clements makes his living playing football. He owrks at it all year. He goes to mini-camps. Training camps. He's a veteran. He made one of most idiotic plays of the year. He should have known better than to try to intercept that ball. He was one on one. He lost, BECAUSE OF STUPIDITY. It wasn't a physical error, but rather a mental one. One that I would think wouldnt happen to a self proclaimed best CB in the league. And if it was a physical error, than he doesn't deserve "best CB in the league money." Unreal.
IT WAS A MAJOR MISTAKE. Undefendable.
you are completely missing my point. i have never defended nate's play in that game. i simply said that EVEN WITH THE PLAY -- which was not a score -- the game was not over and buffalo had a chance to seal the victory. one play does not a game make.
i can't make it any simpler than that.

while discussing the bills' variety of blitz packages, TKO offered the following:
"That's our M.O. — that's what we do," said linebacker Takeo Spikes, who said Gray has vowed to never sit back and play it cautious again after last-minute losses to Jacksonville and the New York Jets last season.
11-5 would have been a pretty nice record last year. but it's funny how things work out -- that sort of record would have likely resulted in bledsoe behind center for another season. yecch.
in any event, if the bills put the prevent D in the closet, i'll be a happy man.

OK, enough of this "he cost us the game" bullcrap. it's an ignorant statement. yes, nate made a stupid play. yes, if he knocks it down the game is over. but where was the ball after smith caught it? on the freaking 40 yard line!!!! the bills' defense as a whole had numerous opportunities to win the game. the bills' offense had numerous opportunities to put the game out of reach before that.
stop the madness!

nice PR. way to go, swordsmen.

stop living in the past, man...show some support for the next wave of future HOFers.
-
one of their weaker efforts, if you ask me. the kellen winslow, jr., parody blew the socks off this one.

It just gets occassionally tiresome around here. Whenever the media disses the Bills in any way, they are classified as ignorant, don't know anything, pompous, uninformed idiots.
Then the next day when they write something positive, they are glamorized as being one step from sainthood, mensa candidates and soon to be rhodes scholars.
then please devote your criticism to posters who engage in such activity...i don't believe i belong in that group.

it's ignorant when guys like sullivan devote entire editorials to bashing the bills for not doing his job for him.
-
i need to see them shut down the patriots to be convinced. brady & co. ate them up twice last season.
don't get me wrong, i loved watching us beat up on arizona and cleveland last season, but to be truly elite they need to do it against the cream of the crop.

MM opened his PC yesterday with the following:
"Just to go through a few things ... Ben Sobieski is on IR, Lawrence Smith is on IR. Willis (McGahee) practiced and is doing great, Shaud (Williams) practiced, he's doing great. Kevin Everett is on PUP. Rod Trafford came back and is looking better than we thought he would. Both tight ends have been remarkable. ... (Lauvale) Sape had the sniffles this morning but he appears to be doing better. They're going to turn his air conditioner down. Roscoe (Parrish) still has the wrist. And Bennie (Anderson), we think he's eating too many green vegetables because his stomach is bothering him a little bit. Other than that, let's talk football."
jerry sullivan should be licking his wounds right about now -- what a buffoon.

LOL...maybe he would like some help with his homework as well.

good points, lori. i'll be watching for all of them. at RB, i'm rooting for gates. i liked him at louisville, and i think he's a more durable option (over williams) if mcgahee is out for any extended period of time.
i also want to see how gandy holds up against KGB.
