  1. Yeah I remember that whole episode. Mcdermott definitely speaking with schopp off air. Schopp gets alot of flak. I find him somewhat arrogant but good at what he does, he isn't agreeable.
  2. Browns game was bad for McDermott. I'm 0-20 allen because I'm not seeing the presence in this seasons games 20-40 mcd because of the winning record
  3. Yes I do think that developing Allen and winning games will not always go together. Its tricky. Picks are less an issue for me then the fumbles. If Allen connects to brown and the bills make the FG this whole perception of Allen changes. Esp if the bills won.
  4. Just watched the browns highlights. Less running from allen than the Dolphins game which I think is good (I think you have to see what you have in him as an 80% passer). Good throws in there, he throws well over the middle. The disappointment of the game tends to go a few days later and you see what's looks like a decent QB in the highlights. The disappointment of continual falling drives and lack of 3rd down conversions was frustrating in the game. Highlights do show potential but the game context is taken away. I thought he was less confident in the browns game compared with how he was in that Dolphins game last year. I don't want it to be the case that the bigger pressure game he is worse in. The Dolphins game last year was not a pressure game in fairness.
  5. Just watched the Dolphins highlights last year. Allen does look good there. There was a comment here saying they want the old josh back. Lots of running in that game from allen, I always see him play better when he runs AS well as passes. Some good catches from zay Jones in there aswell. Shock. All in all a real lack of consistency.
  6. I can see the accuracy issues. I know he scored high in the wonderlic test. I don't know how football intelligent he is, he seems more of an instinctive Tyrod/ Newton player to me than a manning/Brady type in terms of his football intelligence.. More athletic than cerebral on the field.
  7. Yeah. Surely there will be one full game where he will click, wishful thinking but you would think it's possible.
  8. There's an interesting thing with Mcdermott that somehow as a leader he listens. Not sure if players aired their thoughts but I think it's a good message, especially for allen. Best thing for Allen is that he can throw a few picks without being condemned. Not necessarily the best for the teams score but I think it's the best message for Allen's development to trust himself.
  9. I know what you are saying. Mike schopp too? I do think there needs to be people who will be somewhat 'provocative' in their opinions and they are entitled to them. I get more frustrated listening to John Murphy personally than schopp or Sullivan. I don't always want a positive spin put on bills talk.
  10. Genuine question: how football smart do people think Allen is? Has he developed his reading of defenses?
  11. I do agree with where your going in this. Allen separates himself from Tyrod with those comebacks. I really wanted to see one against the browns. I don't put the last drive on him so much actually. The rest of the game was the problem.
  12. I'm quite confident Allen doesn't have it. I'd like him to but don't think he has. Your talking like mcdermott and Beane have to be resigned to the fact that if Allen doesn't pan out they go - not necessarily. If they draft an insurance policy it would be an intelligent decision. Yes. But I want an elite QB.
  13. The gm and coach are not going to want their careers to be defined by an inconsistent QB
  14. Should there not be someone here waiting in the wings should he not show it? Are you saying he doesn't look as good as big Ben or rivers in their first two seasons? I agree in regards mariota/ tannehill etc
  15. Not scoring more than 14 points against a a badly coached team is the bigger failure I think. Look at the last offensive drive. They were held to 19 points. That's good enough to win. A team with Mayfield, Beckham, Landry and chubb can always lead scoring drives.
