  1. Next year. They inherited an absolute disaster and certainly deserve a 3 year tryout. They seem to have done a pretty good job of addressing some major holes on D through the draft and free agency the past 2 years. This year they have to make a decision on Fitzpatrick and either pay up if he earns it or draft a stud QB. They obviously also have to address the OL next off-season as well. I actually think they are doing a good job of patiently building something from nothing so far.
  2. The only accurate thing you said in that post is that Favre would be better than Curtis Painter or Dan Orlovsky.
  3. Irsay is a complete piece of work and was clearly trying to be funny with this one. I'd bet my salary that Peyton will be under center week 1.
  4. What about that article makes you think he is competing for a starting job? It is pretty clearly stated that he is being brought in to push some depth guys and that there is not a penny guaranteed in the deal. Seems like a smart pickup to me.
  5. Vick was a hell of a lot of fun to watch as a QB in Atlanta, but he did the majority of his damage with his legs. He wasn't accurate, he made bad decisions, he had a horrible work ethic (he admitted that part) and his reliance on running the ball had begun to bring in injury concerns. Like i said earlier in this thread, when he got out of jail he was viewed as nothing more than a gimmick wildcat QB and many people thought he would have to change positions. Philly's first inclination was to put him on the field with McNabb lined up outside. It is absolutely amazing that he has made this transformation after sitting in jail for 18 months, but I don't blame the Bills or any other team for not seeing it coming.
  6. Let's face it, experts were questioning if Vick could even play QB again in the league or if he would just be a wildcat guy. Not a lot people saw this thing playing out the way it did. I don't blame Ralph (or any owner) for passing on a guy who was out of football for 2 years and had a history of inconsistency, poor decisions in the pocket, and a less than ideal work ethic. Pretty easy to play revisionist historian now that the guy is a legit MVP candidate who somehow learned in prison how to be a dependable pocket QB in addition to maintaining the freaky athleticism.
  7. Agreed that Goodell overstepped boundaries if this did happen, but it is kind of a moot point if Wilson was going to refuse to sign the guy anyways.
  8. Because he is the guy writing the check. I am sure a lot of owners wanted no part of the PR nightmare that Vick made himself into following his crimes. Don't get me wrong, I would've loved him in a Bills uniform, but the guy writing the check gets to make the call because he founded the team!!
  9. Or it could mean that behind Stevie we have two decent slot guys (Parrish+Nelson)and a bunch of unproven, yet promising young wideouts. My guess is that Jones, Aiken, Easley, Roosevelt will be interchangeable throughout the rest of the pre-season and maybe the first few weeks of the regular season. Hopefully one of them steps up to the plate or it could be a long year of double/triple coverage for Stevie.
  10. Depth charts have been updated on buffalobills.com. Kamar Aiken is listed as the starting WR2 ahead of Jones. Has anyone else seen this?! No other surprises, Levitre still listed as LG1.
  11. If he can pass a physical, sign him. If anything it will give us some added depth. I am borderline OK with our starting line, but man are we in trouble if anyone goes down.
  12. Can you name 2 players that were on the field for the Bears at the point that Nesbitt got under center? Smith looked good out there in a couple of key situations....definitely opens up the playbook, and unlike most wildcat guys he can actually throw.
  13. Easley would get snatched up in a second on the PS....he'll make the active roster. Agreed that Kelsay stays and Dotson goes. Coleman probably goes as well which would make room for Easley.
  14. Saved my first post for Maybin, they've gotta cut him at this point. Getting blown up by Barber was flat out embarrassing. I was at the draft in NYC when they took him and everyone around us was doing the Orakpo chant, you could feel the wind come out of our sails when they announced Maybin. I was able to go over and talk to Mort during an ESPN commercial break and he thought it was a great pick. I felt better, then I saw him play Can't believe he had the balls to come in to camp weighing 228.
