@MasterStrategist are you from PGH also?

I've noticed a ton of Bills fans here!  (I'm in the North suburbs).   I know a few other posters here are from PGH area.  We need a TBD Pittsburgh branch :)

Great to see what Hamiln has been doing.  The U Pitt to Bills defensive backfield connection is strong at this point with Hamlin and Jackson.

My brother lives in Pittsburg and went to the event. His kids grew up in Fox Chapel which I believe is a suburb Northeast of Pittsburg. Although his four boys grew up there, they have remained diehard Bills fans their entire lives.

  2. My account manager emailed me back and said there was an issue with the website, so I don't think they poorly worded the email, but that they didn't set up the rules properly in Ticketmaster or however this is done.

Regardless, he said he put the tickets I wanted in my account. I didn't see them there so I went into Ticketmaster at 1 and easily got the tickets I wanted.

  3. I had the same problem others have. It said six tickets per practice, up to two practices. Got six for 7/28 and wanted two for 8/10. If I had done it in the other order, would have been ok with only four for 7/28 and just told two friends I was bringing, sorry, couldn't do it. Unfortunately, I decided to do the six first.

What makes you think the Jets' outcomes are much broader than the Bills?

I'd argue their defense with Saleh will keep them in every game. Perhaps the best D in the AFC.

Their biggest weakness on offense was their QB situation. Whether you like Rodgers or not he's clearly a huge upgrade. Their WR core is solid and a healthy Breece Hall makes them better. Rodgers has plenty of weapons. He doesn't have to be Superman.

The Bills have some big question marks in the trenches. Will the new additions improve the oline? Can Brown improve or will he continue to be a liability?

Will Kincaid be a bonifide weapon as a rookie? Besides Diggs who steps up as a solid WR?

Can the Bills generate a solid and consistent pass rush? Is the dline  vulnerable to physical play?

Will Allen be careless with the ball? Will the Bills struggle in the redzone?

What kind of OC will Dorsey be? Do you trust his play calling skills and ability to reign in Allen need be? Will he use all his skill players? Will he run the ball consistently and it effectively? Will they run 12 or 11.5 schemes effectively?

The Bills have a difficult schedule and the upgrades the Jets and Miami made are significant. The division appears to be a dogfight. I don't believe there is a lot of seperatiob between the teams.

I give the Bills the slight edge merely because of Allen. However, besides Allen and Diggs the Bills roster really lacks difference makers and game changers. Who knows if that's significant?

I think the Jets and Miami are well prepared to dethrone the Bills. Who knows if they can get there? I would not be surprised one bit if either of thoses teams win the AFC.

The thought that the Jets or Miami are vastly inferior to the Bills no longer exists. Folks, the gap has significantly closed and the Bills have to be better in order to win the division and advance deep in the playoffs. Will they regress, improve, or continue the status quo?

Thus far, the Bills have managed nice regular season records only to fizzle out come playoff time. It's a pretty consistent theme for years under the current regime. What will we see this season?

I've already said why.........the Jets haven't made the playoffs in 12 years and finished last in the AFC East in 2022 and teams that have defense's that go from worst to first typically have huge dropoffs the following year.    The Jets had the healthiest defense in football last year after having the 4th most injured defense the year prior.   It will be hard for them to repeat that success.    Their QB is turning 40 this season and is coming off his worst season as a pro and his commitment to the game is highly suspect.

The Bills have the highest point differential in the NFL over the past 2 seasons.   We know exactly what they are capable of and they've won the division 3 straight years, gone on the road and beaten SB contenders and won close games in high pressure situations.    And perhaps most importantly........they have the best QB in the division.

@newcam2012Excellent list of concerns, it kind of depressed me because I can't disagree with most of them no matter how much I want to. I agree with @BADOLBILZthat based on recent history, we are the best team in the AFC East and I don't expect enough of those concerns to go the wrong way for us to make us lose the division or not be a serious Super Bowl contender.

I just cut the cord with Direct TV. My discounts just expired and it was too expensive. Plus, no NFL ticket.

Subscribed to YouTube TV. Prices went up a lot. $72 a month which is about $100 cheaper than my Direct TV. Pretty good savings.

Also, signed up for $249 NFL ticket. Supposedly, it's a $100 off promotion until June 6th.

Personally, I like the setup of the Direct TV better. Seems easier for a non tech guy like myself. However, YouTube TV doesn't seen daunting. Will take a little getting used to.

I can't help but think Direct TV is going to lose a lot of business. The retention department didn't even really try to retain me. Offered me a $50 off for 12 months. Not worth it!

Thanks for your help in this matter. A few of you really encouraged me to make the jump.

As I said in other posts, I switched to You Tube TV from DirecTV around 2.5 years ago. I always found it very easy. However, sometimes it does "spin" for a bit and it's almost always much slower to fast forward than with a regular DVR. I think that may have more to do with my Visio TV than my internet connection or You Tube as it works much better with a FireStick. But, it's great service, unlimited cloud DVR, many great channels, and MUCH cheaper than cable or satelite. I think you'll get used to how to use it very quickly.

question regarding sharing Sunday Ticket for someone with technical knowledge of the service.....

Youtube conditions for service stipulate that a subscriber can view the NFLST on 2 devices, only for people who reside in the same household.

Is this enforceable? If I want to share a login and password with a neighbor, are there obstacles that Youtube has in place to prevent sharing outside the subscriber residence? What if I want to take my tablet remotely away from the house? Do I have to remain on the same home wi-fi network to receive the streaming from Youtube?

Unfortunately, I'm not seeing these questions answered at Youtube's FAQ site.

I'm trying to avoid paying $350 for what will amount to only about 5 or 6 games not shown on local Atlanta TV/Peacock.  If I can split the cost with a friend it might be worth it.

Thanks in advance for any definitive answers.

I've had YTTB for the last 2.5 years. It allows 5 logins for family members (I see your comments that it's only two for the Ticket, I'm talking regular YTTV). I use it in Orange County CA, Rochester, Syracuse, and Milwaukee. But to use outside of my home area which is Rochester, each user must login from Rochester every three months. I do this by setting up an email for my family members that's only for YTTV and logging in to YTTV from each of these emails regularly.

This is just a speeding ticket. I was expecting him being an a-hole but what I saw he seemed to be polite.

Agree. It's speeding. In CA I normally go between 85 to 90 if the traffic will allow and am passed by cars going much faster. He was polite to the officer and didn't try a "Don't you know who I am" with him.

The post said Dallas was definitely taking Kincaid. I said there's no proof of that. That's all. Check out all of the down votes. This is a pretty common sense argument but people are so brainwashed that they truly think Beane knew Dallas was taking Kincaid and they more than likely were not based on reporting since. Someone just acknowledge this fact and I'll shut up 😂

    Get over it already.

I really don't get why you keep arguing your point. First of all, the post does NOT say that Dallas was definitely taking Kincaid, even your first post said, "I keep seeing everyone saying Kincaid would have been gone like it's a fact." I think it's pretty obvious, this being a message board that likely Jerry Jones is not anonymously messaging on, that when people state he would have been gone, it's their belief, not fact. Everyone who has responded to you has stated this in one way or another.

There are two things that matter:

    1) Beane BELIEVED he needed to trade up if he wanted to be 100% sure that he got his guy.

    2) If in a few years, it was a good pick.

If he's a bust, it was a bad decision. If he plays 10+ years for the Bills and is a HOFer, it was a fantastic decision even if Beane was wrong about Dallas taking him or some other team trading up to take him. If he's somewhere in between, then depending on where between and how other players he would have traded down to take, it may or may not have been the right decision. Trading up for Josh Allen was a great decision. The Jets trading up for Darnold wasn't. The Cardinals taking (did they trade up for him?) the "Right" Josh, wasn't. Chicago trading up for Trubisky wasn't but if they had taken Mahomes instead when they traded up...

By the way, in addition to those here and Beane who thought Dallas likely wanted Kincaid, as was said above Beane was on Moving the Chains on Monday. Later on Monday they replayed part of the interview on Late Hits with Alex Marvez and Bill Polian. Bill said that based on Dallas' war room shown on TV, with all the down faces, it seems almost definite that Dallas was targeting him.

So no, none of us knows for a fact what Dallas' plans were, but so what? Whether it's the draft, poker, or any negotiation, you try to read your opponent and take your best guess as to what their plans are and if there's a bluff involved. You make your bet accordingly and sometimes it works out and sometimes it doesn't.

    I hate the pick

this is a message board for bills football, why can’t I express that?

You did. Maybe 40 times. We get it. Wjy not give it a break already and either say "told you so" in a year or two or, more likely make believe you never objected to the pick.

  10. I posted about this in Gunner's QB thread. I saw Bryce play in late 2019 on high school. He was amazing throwing for over 500 yards in the semi finals on under 3 quarters of play. I completelu forgot about him until last month even hearing all the draft talk, didn't remember his name.

Actually i do that quite a bit because i live out of the area & my job takes me on the road to places that are dominated on the TV by other teams so i have to wait to find out the scores or if it is on TV i have it record the out come & watch it so i can see the good stuff for myself .

Seeing as i live north of Nashville now this area is the Titans domain so like last year when the Bills had a game that could determine where they would line up in the play offs in the AFC & the Titans were out of it they still play the Titans games no matter what which sucks but i get it ...

Living out of the area makes you a prime candidate for Sunday Ticket or finding a Bills Backers Bar like I did for years.

  12. Almost every game from 2010 to 2019!

I moved to CA before the 1993 season. I went to a bar to watch all the games for many years. Started taking each of my two kids when they turned 8 weeks old (1998 and 2001). Made friends there that I still have today and my kids are still friends with their kids. But, by the time my son was about to turn 9, he was involved in youth sports and I started doing a lot of volunteer work on weekends for youth soccer. Also, the Bills Backers groups I had been involved with weren't doing much anymore and the football was not very good. I got DirecTV and Sunday Ticket. I DVRed every game, and watched later on Sunday evening. It's very easy in So Cal. to not know what the results of a football game are, you actually have to search to find out (or have notifications turned on from BuffaloBills.com, TheAthletic, etc.).

In 2020 I was working near Syracuse, the Bills were good again, and I started watching live again and now wanted to watch live. Got Seasons tickets and watch all games live again. Now I'm back in CA and trying to decide what I'll do this year for the games I don't go to. Get the Ticket? Watch on delay again? Or, most likely, go to a local bar and watch with Bills fans!

  13. Thank you for the evaluation, Gunner.

I've been wanting to post something for a bit but wasn't sure where to put this LAMP. You gave me the perfect opportunity!

First, I don't follow college at all. I start to listen to the draft talk but rarely watch videos of the prospects. That being said, of course I've heard about the top QBs and typically base my opinions mostly just be hearing what the talking heads and other fans like you say.

So, hearing mostly about Bryce Young and CJ Stroud over the last several months, I wasn't so sure what to think. Then, when my son was home from San Diego State U. a couple of weeks ago, I mentioned to him (who follows even less than I do) about the two QBs and he told me that Bryce Young was local, went to Mater Dei in Orange County CA. I reminded him that we went to the semi-finals in late 2019 and saw Mater Dei crush Mission Viejo (his school). He said Bryce Young was the QB we saw. I remember posting about going to that game and what I saw in Bryce.

This is what I posted on December 30, 2019. I made the post primarily because “Super Cade” was the honorary captain for the Mission Viejo team but then added what I saw in this HS QB, Bryce Young:

“By the way, at that game, Bryce Young, the QB for Mater Dei was amazing. He threw for over 500 yards before they pulled him, I think in the 3rd but may have been early 4th. The first play of the game was a 53 yard strike, second play was called back due to illegal receiver downfield but was a completion to what would have been a touchdown. He had 7 touchdown passes and many amazing throws. He's going to Alabama next year and I can't wait to see how he does with SEC competition.” Of course, since I don't follow college football, I completely forgot about him until the recent talk and even then didn't put 2 and 2 together until my son and I started talking about the draft.

I am hoping loophole exists in spectrum app.  I have a friend who lives in WNY that is gonna let me try his  spectrum account first no national games,

Unless you can block your location while using the app, I really doubt you'll be able to watch games our of the area. In fact, even if you can block the location for regular TV, I doubt you can block it and watch local games. But, doesn't hurt to try.

  15. 3 hours ago, SoMAn said:

Thanks for the insight. So, the next question is regarding the technical side if it.
So, if you have different people in different states using a single account, how does that affect the local station availability?  Obviously, if your account is tied to a Rochester zip code, you can get local stations there. But I’m guessing the folks in California aren’t getting those local stations. Do they get any locals, even in their area? I can’t see how they could.
It should be clear that some of us out of state fans might be thinking about setting up an account with someone in WNY (where all games are shown) and accessing the games without paying the Sunday Ticket fee.
The Sunday ticket cost is actually a decent value, though it’s probably only needed here in Atlanta for maybe 8-10 games, with the expectation that there will be a fair number of nationally televised games and some others shown regionally, depending on what the networks believe will have the most viewership that week.
Even at $350, it still beats dropping a wad of cash in a noisy sports bar where the server doesn’t have enough sense to wait until a TV timeout to see if you need anything else. 😊

Local station availability: With my account being in Rochester, everyone gets the Rochester stations regardless of where they are EXCEPT for things that they should not be able to receive out of the area, i.e. I can't use YTTV to watch Bills games when I'm in CA if it's not on local CA TV, instead I'd get a black screen and a notification that the game is blacked out in my current area. Yes, when I first signed up I was hoping that this was a loophole to watch all Bills games while I'm home in CA but no such luck.

I also regularly (not always, but often enough) get a question when I log in outside of Rochester asking if I'm travelling or if I live here. You are allowed to change home locations once or twice per year so I always say I'm travelling. YTTV then responds, "Enjoy You Tube TV while you're travelling!"

Apologies if this has been answered and discussed previously…

Don’t want to read through 20+ pages looking for answers. 🤓

question regarding ability to share YTTV:

If a subscriber is using a firestick or similar USB device with their TV to get steaming apps, can that USB device be used on another TV or different Wi-Fi network?

e.g.- can I take my Roku stick over to my neighbor’s house, plug it in to their smart tv, and watch the NFL Sunday Ticket I’ve subscribed to?  Or has YTTV made it so your subscription is tied to a single network, preventing 2 parties from ‘sharing’ a subscription?

If that’s the case, can I not use my mobile device on another Wi-Fi network to watch games at Goodyear while I’m waiting for my tires to be rotated?
Thanks in advance for any info related to these inquiries.

I switched to YTTV around 30 months ago and have been very happy with it (mostly).

You can share with I believe five family members. I signed up at my father's house in Rochester. I also had it at my apartment outside of Syracuse and my house in California. I log in with my own login for six different TVs and have recently started switching to using a Firestick on some because it seems to stream better via Firestick than via my Visio TVs. My father, wife, daughter (in Wisconsin) and son (in San Diego) all use YTTV on my account. The only thing is, every three months I need to log into each account from Rochester. So, for my son and daughter, I had set them up with a new gmail account only to use as their YTTV account so I don't get their emails and calendar notices. I have all of the accounts on my phone and I log in when I'm at my father's house.

Someone above had mentioned that you need a good internet connection. For my apartment outside Syracuse, I have the lowest plan that Verizon offered and I had fantastic service. I actually had much worse reception at my father's house which had a faster internet. I think that was based on the TV and that's why I got a Firestick for there. Unfortunately, I got this after the season was over so I couldn't do a one to one comparison. But, at his house, even though I had no issues with Prime Video for movies or shows, for NFL games they were completely unwatchable and in some cases would just freeze up completely using the Visio Smart TV. With my laptop, I watched with no problems. As I said, my expectation was the Firestick would improve the ability to watch on his TV without needing to cast from my laptop.

The irony is if this hits 200 pages it's because we are not getting him and this thread dragged on way too long because neither side is engaged in any trade talks. If we were getting him we would have had him by page 100

I have no idea if we will get him but I think he will be traded by draft day. AZ wants picks. To say it would have happened already if it was going to is wrong imo. The only date that matters is 4/27, draft day. Similar to Rogers, if both the team and player want it, it will happen. Of course it's not the same as a QB is not the same as a WR. That being said, the Bills aren't in with the current contract unless AZ eats some of it. That will likely happen 9n draft day when there are no better offers.

  18. Yesterday afternoon I was listening to Sirius XM NFL radio when they were interviewing a Patriots beat reporter about this issue and the Kraft / Bellicheat / Mac Jones (and more) relationships. It was pure pleasure to listen to. One of the points brought up were that almost no coach would have an issue with a young player talking to his college coaches to get some advice / help, but to the Cheater this was a major transgression. They also discussed all of the issues Kraft has had lately with Bellicheat. The fact that Kraft allowed him to talk him into giving Brady a one year deal when Kraft and Brady had basically agreed on two years; then Brady leaves after the year and wins a Super Bowl. That didn't go over well with Kraft. Allowing Bellicheat to go without a "real" OC last year with horrible results. And of course, recent draft issues. He basically was saying that Kraft is about ready to move on if this is another down year but not sure how it would play out specifically because Cheater wants to break Shula's win record. He's 18 total behind Shula now (includes playoffs) so it will mean two or three more seasons.

The Bills have done this before during the ill-fated Toronto series. In years where there was one-fewer home game, they raised the per-ticket price, but what you paid for the package stayed the same from the previous year. Then the following year you package price would go up but the per-ticket price stayed the same.

Don't forget with 17 games, year to year we will be going back and forth between 8 and 9 regular season home games (ignoring games at neutral sites). So, we'll have 8 regular season home games next year and 8 again the year after. The 2025 season will then have 9 games if we don't have any neutral site games.

One thing I've noticed that seems quite weird is the cost of each individual game ticket from the season ticket package. It wasn't obvious anywhere except if you pull up each game individual ticket from your account. There is a number on it without a dollar sign. For my seats, it was either 75.5 (preseason games), 142 (Vikings, Jets, Dolphins, Patriots), or 164 (Titans, Steelers, Packers, Browns). I wasn't even positive that they were the prices since it would be so easy for all regular season games to have been $153. But, it was confirmed to be the face value when I was credited $164/ticket for the Browns game.
