  1. Here's a link to a great article in the Athletic. Almost started a thread about this last night, but happier to post on yours now. He said it to Horrible Harry as leaving the field.

    https://theathletic.com/3036411/2021/12/26/that-guy-is-unbelievable-josh-allen-shows-the-patriots-exactly-who-he-is-in-leading-the-bills-to-a-huge-victory/

    From the article,

"Allen enjoined Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Harrison Phillips for a celebratory dap and hug.

“I don’t know who the fxxx they thought I was, Harry!” Allen yelled.

'Buffalo’s 33 points rank sixth this year, 428 yards sixth, 28 first downs tied for second, 35:09 time of possession third.

All despite an offensive line grouping that never had started together, an emergency replacement who had just recovered from COVID-19, two of the top three receivers absent, tailbacks who averaged 3.4 yards on 15 carries and one dropped touchdown pass that terminated a drive with zero points.

Before the game, imagining such a depleted offense vaulting the Bills to victory would have required visions of Allen putting on a cape and lifting them on his back up, up and away.

    He was better than that.

He elevated all those around him to greater heights. Everybody looked good.

That’s who the eff Josh Allen was."

I was listening on the way home when the Offside/offensive face mask was called. I wasn't able to comment then. If a defensive player jumps Offside and causes an intentional grounding, what is the call then?

Only the grounding is called. This (almost) happened this season. Josh saw offside and thought he had a free play. It wasn't called but intentional grounding was. The rules analyst on the broadcast said that even if the offside was called, the grounding is a major penalty and is enforced but offside, being minor, I'd declined by rule.

College coaches demonstrably need to get some seasoning as position coaches before being given head coaching jobs.

I don’t gamble but the easiest money ever is to bet big that each years “ Next up and comer” , who will “ revolutionize “ the sport , will flame out in 4 seasons or less.

Spurrier, Kelly, Saban, Carroll( NE), Rhule( Brady was getting HC interviews?!?!😂).  I’m sure there are more.

The idea that the college players you’re comfortable with and the college coaching attitude you have and the college schemes you bring will have any staying power in the NFL is farcical.

Agree except Pete Carroll doesn't belong in this group. He started in the NFL as a dB coach for the Bills, was an nfl assistant for 10 or 11, then the Jersy Jerks he before getting canned there and going to the cheaters. In LA, most thought USC made a terrible hire since he was always a lover as hc.

  4. I was wondering myself how hard it is to get an Uber after a typical game and where to go to find them. After the Miami game, I had a 6 PM flight to CA. I left as soon as the Bills went up by 9, but as you may remember, the game was close until that score which was in the 4th. I assumed when I booked the game would be a blowout and would be well in hand by then. Made it easily to my flight but not so sure I would have if I stayed to the end if it was close until the end.

Homerun throwforward was a long time ago, but I think we were mad at Wade for refusing to fire the special teams coach ?

I have to agree that given this exact set of circumstances that Bills fans would be doing the same thing.

Not quite correct. He did fire our best special teams coach of all times, Bruce DeHaven after that game. Then he hired Ronnie Jones who had no clue about special teams. I read years ago Steve Christie was showing Jones what he was supposed to do, what kind of drills, practice regimen, etc. he was supposed to run as a coach. We lost multiple games that year due to special teams. And yes, Jones needed to go. Since Wade was unwilling to fire him, Wade needed to go. Phillips always said that he had the belief if he fired Jones Ralph would have had some other demand and kept at it just to get rid of him. If true, that blows but no matter what, Jones had to go.

  6. I'm glad someone started this post. This year I just got seasons for the first time since 1993 when I moved to CA. I decided to add on the parking pass so I already paid for parking at the Bills lots. Pittsburg game I parked in lot 6, WFT game I parked in lot 1. Lot 1 was much easier to get out of (could have been because that was over early vs. Pittsburg was undecided until much later in the game, but I don't think that's the only reason). Having a long drive after games or other times needing to catch a flight to CA, getting out easily is great but, I really enjoy the tailgate. It seemed that Lot 6 and that side of the stadium in general is much more going on and therefore a more fun tailgate. Do others agree?

The Eagles weren't "awarded" him off the practice squad.  PS guys are already free agents and only go through waivers when they're initially cut or if they're elevated to the roster then cut again.

The Eagles offered him a contract on their 53-man roster (and must pay him for 3 weeks and count him against their 53-man, whether or not they keep him there).  The Bills could have countered.

Anderson would also have had a right to say "No thanks, I'm good here!" and stay on the Bills PS.  But, there's a big difference between NFL minimum salary and practice squad money, so that wouldn't be in his interest.

Actually, a team can pay more than the minimum for a practice squad player so they did have the option to pay more than Philly is paying (which I assume is league minimum). But, unlikely we'd do that for a late round pick that hasn't shown much, practice squad players count towards the cap (or so I've read here from trusted posters), and I'd assume most young, bubble players are going to want a chance to play, not just sit on the PS. So, same result, even if the Bills did offer more it probably isn't in his best interest to stay on the PS.

  8. Someone already said it, but I'll repeat as I've heard it discussed multiple times on Sirius XM.

Years ago most teams had the backup QB hold for field goals. When we switched, like the OP, I didn't understand why because it reduced the likely success of a trick play. But, teams pretty much all came to the agreement it didn't make sense to have a backup QB or other position players take practice time away for this when they already have a punter that doesn't have a large playbook to work on. And, as others have pointed out, Moorman and other punters across the league have been quite successful on the rare trick passing play when called.

  9. Always liked Bledsoe as I think he's a standup guy, as is EJ Manual, Tyrod, etc. And, no question he had a great eight game stretch. But, him being a statue that held the ball too long was always an issue even in his best years in NE. He never was going to be great unless he had one of the best lines ever. I remember when we traded for him my boss, who was from Boston, said exactly that. I suspect Bellicheat was already thinking of replacing him before the injury. If you remember, the Cheater replaced Kosar while he was still very popular in Cleveland with Vinny T. even though he had done nothing at that point in his career.

  10. Thanks for the advice. I also want to sell my tickets for this Saturday. Listed on NFL Ticket Exchange, now I just also listed on TickPick. But, I think you're incorrect on no fees. It shows a similar fee to Ticket Exchange. In either case, I show what the sales prices is and it comes back with a new price that's a bit lower due to fees.

Speaking if season tickets, can anyone confirm if they received ticket cards in the mail? Or is it mobile only this season.

I will have to call my rep.

What are season ticket cards? This is the first year I've had seasons since 1993 (the year I moved to CA), am I supposed to receive something in the mail?

  12. As someone already pointed out, In N Out is not a franchised business, all family owned. They've had many offers to franchise, have always refused. If they do eventually franchise, expect the quality to go way down.

To someone else's question, are they much better than Five Guys, YES, absolutely! In N Out is great.

I think In N Out being in Western NY is about as likely as Wegmans coming to California. May eventually happen, but don't hold your breath. Going national is obviously not impossible as many companies do it, but certainly is a huge change in logistics.

Cowherd is just a front runner. He realizes that league and media perception shifted to recognizing Allen’s place among the best. This guy hasn’t had an original thought his entire career. This new take allows him to say he’s right, and cover the market for rabid Bills fans. He used to sing the Pats and NY team praises because he wanted the large market. That’s back when he said the Midwest and its people are worthless, and only big market teams matter. Cowturd is really good at taking the popular position.

I haven't listened to him in years. But, when I did he was always very upfront that he plays to the big markets. Of course, they all do what it takes to get ratings, that's how they get paid. He was at least honest and would say he could care less about anything that isn't going to bring in large number of listeners. To that end, he possibly sees that even though Buffalo is small it has rabid fans and that Josh, being a very likable player, will appeal to a larger audience.

As long as Beane knows, that’s all that matters.

I agree that's all that matters. But, it also really irks me when (and Shaw kind of said the same) I'm listening to people whose job it is to discuss the Bills and inform us and yet I know facts that they do not. Just seems lazy. In this case, the cap hit of our largest contract in team history seems relatively important for them to know and be able to inform their customers, the listeners, about.

The joke works perfectly!  Perhaps you just don't get it.

If I'm off the mark by opining that the guy in the video is full of crap, then it seems I have a lot of company.  But because I've admitted to not wasting my time to watch that crap, you're making the effort to call me uninformed and mouthy.

From where I sit, it appears that you're the determinedly uninformed one.

And I'm sorry you're mad and sad.  I hope things look up for you soon.

Just to try to put a stop to this meaningless back and forth... Thurman is saying it doesn't work because he pronounces his name like "fates" not like "feats". Not sure why he just didn't tell you that. Personally, I like the joke even if he doesn't pronounce it that way.

  16. I didn't rewatch the game you posted, but, as I remember it Bruce Smith was unstoppable until he got injured. There was a horrible facemask penalty called on him then he was injured shortly thereafter. Along with all the other "ifs" already mentioned (being at Rich instead of away, TT getting more caries, Norwood...), if Bruce stays in the game, I think the Bills win. And yes, would have been a great SB against SF that I think we could have taken.

  17. Like most others have said, I root for all of the Bills players. I especially want to see some player break out that would end up making the team better because their breakout season makes the team better in an area of need (e.g. Knox). Also, a long shot to make the team, but Olaijah Griffin because he went to the local High School where I live (Mission Viejo High School). When the Bills signed him my son, who's 2 or 3 years younger than him, immediately said he wanted to get his jersey. I told him he may want to wait and see if he makes the team.

And it only makes it that much sweeter that Allen was basically built for Buffalo. From the way he plays the game to his personality. There's not another QB in the league that would be a better fit for this team and city than Allen. That includes great QB's like Mahomes and Wilson.

Many have said this and I agree. However, from what we've seen of his personality, do you think it would be different anywhere he was drafted? I think any city that got him would love him.

  19. I realize what an axxhole this makes me sound like, but I'll say it anyway. His father was one of the very few players I would have cheered if he got injured. That being said, I absolutely don't blame Jr for his father. But, I also just would have a really hard time rooting for him (unless he played great for the Bills of course).
