  1. Did anyone notice how bad the snaps were in the Denver game? I mean, probably the worst shotgun snaps I've ever seen in my life at any level of football (including High School). Fitzy did an amazing job of handling them, but ya gotta ask "WHY!!?" I know that during the Miami game the excuse was that the rain made it too hard to snap, yet they stayed in 5 wideout Shotgun for most of the game despite the god-awful snaps and lack of good WRs. How can a professional football team not have a single healthy player that can snap a football? It just defies logic. If they can bring in replacement Kickers, why not a Center??

Your question begs the assumption that a decent C is available.

  2. Their stupidity will shine brighter than ever. It's like these idiots don't learn from past mistakes and just keeping letting the good players go while drafting a hopeful replacement. All FA olinemen need to be re-signed no matter if they are starters or back-ups along with Byrd and Johnson.

Make some progress for once and draft to fill holes that are their now - not ones that are created in a few months....

There's been some debate as to whether or not Stevie is truly a #1 receiver; therefore, there is some debate as to whether or not we should pay him like a #1. He may be a #1 on this team, but if he goes to another, would he be that team's #1? I jusrt don't think we should pay him like the Cardinals do Larry Fitzgerald.

  3. I've been hearing on this board that we need to take a receiver because the group we have at that position needs an upgrade. All well and good, but does a guy who is thought of as anywhere from a mid-round pick to an undrafted FA really fit that bill? There are some listed as a first- or second-day pick that would be much better investments.

  4. Tell me this... Part of the reason we are such losers this year is because of our lack of depth at key positions correct?

My question is.... "who is to blame?". Let's cut the Buddy Nix love-fest in here. Buddy should get a lot of flack for not building depth and for failing to find quality backups. Buddy your 73 year-old keister shoul be feeling that hotseat ASAP

It sounds like you eaxprected Buudy to fix about 10 years of questionable personnel decisions in two years. That cannot happen. While I'm all for getting rid of players that don't perform up to expectations, I'm also all for doing it in such a way that it does not hurt the team.

  5. A frequent Bills FO excuse and one that has led to the early departure of several players we should have kept over the years, and will led to the soon to be loss of SJ and Bell.

Their job is to negotiate contracts for 54 guys, with maybe 7-10 actively in negotiation (or should be in negotiation) at any one time. What are these mythical 'other priorities' which keep them from doing this work???

Without looking at a list of our FAs, Stvie and Chandler come to mind, since their contracts are about to expire. I also realize that the popular sentiment is to resign Fred Jackson, but he has another year to go as well.

  6. Byrd is set to only make $565,000 in 2012. Free agent in 2013.

Byrd is one of the most dynamic players to be on the Bills defense in a long time. We have been notorious for letting our core players go after their first contracts are over, instead of paying them top dollar. Will Nix change this and convince Ralph to open up his pocket book, or will Byrd walk and we'll try to "gem out" a UDFA from another draft who has a lot of potential to become the next big thing... <_<

I'm also looking to buy a Byrd jersey when the Nike ones are made, but I don't want it to be a one-year jersey either...lol. :wallbash:

They'll resign him eventually (I hope), but there are other priorities right now.

  7. If your read my post, I said that I know they have to try and win every week. My point was that it is laughable that they lose every game that means anything and now, when a loss would be a better outcome, that's when they finally win a game. I just find it ironic, that's all.

I will grant you that a loss would have resulted in an earlier draft pick; however, a win means more for the morale of the team and the fans.

I was thinking the opposite really. I wasn’t impressed with him as a dynamic speed pass rusher similar to Peppers/M Williams like I heard he was. However, he did look big and strong and could move people with his hands. Relative to a 3-4 DE, he looked very quick off the snap and could penetrate the interior of the line. He could be a good pass rushing 3-4 end for us kinda like Seymour was for the Patsies. Him, Dareus and Williams could get after the QB pretty well. I wouldn’t take him with our pick unless some other guys are gone, but he may be a better fit inside rather than out. I don't see him play LB at all (unless is the Spencer Johnson 'LB' role????)

I would rather take somebody who has really played OLB (Upshaw), unless, of course, we revert to a 4-3.

  9. I seriously thought I would see more on this topic, but here goes. Winning that game showed a lot about this team's character and not in a good way. In just about every game this year, where there was the least amount of pressure, this team folded like a house of cards. And please don't give me the first NE game as an example, because nobody expected Buffalo to win, so there was no pressure. Now that the pressure is off and they are assured of a losing season, they come out and play a good game. Exactly what did that accomplish? It cost the Bills dearly in next year's draft. Now I know that they have to try and win every week, but how pathetic is this team? As a fan, I have rooted for them to win every single game since the opening season in 1960. Yesterday, all I could do was laugh. This team loses every game that they need to win and wins when losing would be the best outcome. As a fan, it is just laughable. I couldn't even enjoy the win yesterday because I knew it was probably costing the Bills the player that they desperately want in next year's draft but will miss out on because they won yesterday.

I have a question concerning your subtitle. When should the Bills ever lose? So they can get a higher draft pick? No. These guys are paid a minimum of six figures to go out and play to the best of their abilities and try to win games. Winning puts fans in seats. Right now they pick 10th. They can pick up an impact player at #10.

  10. Regarding this quote from the Oleans Times piece off the front page:

Maybe this has been one of their problems all season? Sometimes you need to keep it simple stupid. Of course, that would be an indictment of Edwards as well. The defense has one of their better games when you simply let them play...

It's about time...keep it simple so the young guys can learn.

  11. No way do I get rid of Chan. When this team was healthy, Chan had them playing at a high level. I'm all for Wanny taking over the D, but Chan needs to remain HC and in charge of the offense. Too many Bills fans are quick to throw the baby out with the bath water.

I think the only way Wanny takes over the D us if he can make it player-friendly and it doesn't take too long to learn.
