bravo... now that I look at the games played, it almost makes sense, like when those guys in the movie "The Matrix" were looking at the digital version of the matrix on their monitors and said, I see a blonde, brunette, redhead... :)

  2. Had to confirm before I posted, but I remember Juice having less than stellar stats coming out of college including consecutive years of only 5 touchdowns. Plus I think this was touched on the other day in another topic.

Which QB is this, and would you have cut him after these seasons?

That's tough, I'll guess Terry Bradshaw? I honestly have no idea though...

  3. Oj's first 3 years in the league. Heard this song before

That was fast... did you cheat and look it up? If not, I am quite impressed....

So, correct, we have a winner.... and the bust I was referring to resides in Canton, right next to the White Bronco parked out back hehehe...

So with that said someone else hit on a good point i was actually eluding to, which is that CJ Spiller will have to be given some serious game time to see what he has, and I don't think he will disappoint. I make this comparison because my Dad pointed something out to me. He said, "look at the way this guy runs, and moves his legs and feet, he looks so much like OJ Simpson it's scary" so I YouTubed a few videos, and sure enough I can see the resemblance, I really can.

So that got me thinking and did some research on OJ, remembering how it was said that early on Simpson was being referred as a disappointment until he finally broke 1000 yards. I'm not saying CJ will follow the same path, but who's to say he won't, and why is it so easy for a lot of people to not have just a little patience in him? He showed me more than I thought I'd see out of him last pre-season, and hold out hope he will be the eventual successor to Freddy.

Anyway.... thanks for playing along, I wanted to post something more fun than the usual (Insert player/coach/RalphWilson)SUCKS, is a bust, is a bad coach threads we all seem to post here from time to time, and I am one of them sadly.

    Go Bills!

  4. I've complied a ranking of the Bills' first round picks in the Modrak era, from best to worst. Feel free to comment, or contribute your own rankings of the Bills' first round picks.

    1) Eric Wood. He shows signs of living up to his draft position. That makes him the best first round selection of the Modrak era.

    2) Lee Evans. While he never lived up to the expectations associated with the 13th overall pick, he has been a solid contributor for the Bills.

    3) Willis McGahee. Picked late in the first round, McGahee was traded away a few years later for a couple of third round picks. This draft pick was only partially wasted! :)

    4) Donte Whitner. Chosen eighth overall, Whitner has played about as well as you might expect from someone in the late second or early third round. The eighth overall pick is worth 1400 points, while the 15th pick of the second round is worth 430 points. The Bills received about one fourth of what this pick was worth.

    5) Leodis McKelvin. While it is a little early to rank this pick, McKelvin looks to be a player who plays very well in stretches, only to get beat through mental errors. Using the 11th overall pick on a guy who should probably be your #3 CB isn't exactly the pinnacle of success, but it's better than anything below.

    6) Marshawn Lynch. Taken 12th overall, he was traded for a 4th rounder (plus change) just a few years later. Turning the 12th overall pick into a fourth rounder isn't the kind of alchemy you hope to see from your front office, but the fact the Bills got some value from him makes him the 6th-best selection.

    7) J.P. Losman. He had a decent year in 2006; but was otherwise useless to the team. He ranks lower than Lynch because the Bills could get nothing for him in a trade; and because of his subsequent difficulty finding a roster spot in the NFL.

    8) Mike Williams. The Mike Williams of 2004 would have represented an upgrade at RT for the 2010 Bills. You hope to get more than just one somewhat decent season out of a RT chosen fourth overall. But as a Bills fan, you don't always get everything you want.

    9) John McCargo. There'd been discussion of trading him away for a fifth rounder--at least until he failed the Colts' physical. While a fifth rounder isn't a great return from a first rounder, it's better than nothing. Which is exactly what the Bills would get if they tried to trade away . . .

    10) Aaron Maybin. Chosen 11th overall, this player has done nothing for the team.

Unranked: Spiller. (Too early to make an assessment.)

    1. A Eric Wood regardless of draft position brings work ethic and highh character to the team

    2. C+ Lee Evans really can't be faulted for the lofty expectations the franchise placed on him when he was clearly not as talented as he was given credit for.

    3. D- Willis McGahee quite simply was a lousy runner once he was injured in the Fiesta Bowl.

    4. D It's not Donte's Fault he was drafted in the first round when he clearly would have been a value at, say pick #72

    5. D+ Read my comment on Whitner, same goes for this guy

    6. D- This was a terrible pick plain and simple. Bust Mode was just not skilled enough to be a real weapon

    7. D+ I rooted hard for him to succeed, and he did give me one hell of a game to watch when I was in Houston in 2006, I did in fact go to that game, it was great, so he gets a + for that, and generally trying hard to overcome the disaster which was Dickie-poo and Mike Full-of-Mularkey

    8. F The failed hopes of this franchise may never fully recover from this disaster

    9. F- John who?

    10. F-- (This time a double negative does not convert to a positive) I think you can honestly blame Ralph Wilson and Jauron for this one, but there is no doubt he would have been a bust in any round.

I like your order, I just wanted to grade them, and for the record, I will neither fault, nor give credit to Tom Modrak for CJ Spiller, that one will belong to Buddy Nix, and I still think the kid will be something special, exceeding Reggie Bush, but it will take another year before everyone sees it happen.

This was fun, I love seeing threads like this, and sometimes it's just plain good fun laughing at the failures of others :D

  5. Guess which NFL running back bust these 3 year rushing stats belong to:

    Att_____Yds_____TD______Lng

    181........697.........2............32

    120........488.........5............56

    183........742.........5............46

Post your guesses here, for fun, don't google it, just guess who you think it is, anyone can narrow it down with the interweb...

I'll post the correct answer at Noon eastern time..

  6. This week I moved out of Pittsburgh and on looking back realized that the last time the Bills made the playoffs and lost in the Music City Mistake was when I was in N. Virgina (1999) before I moved to Pittsburgh 2 weeks after. Hopefully this is the beginning of the end and the curse will be lifted and the Bills will make the post season this year.

It was a tough 11 years @ Pittsburgh being surrounded by Steeler fans day-in day-out and having to listen to them crowing about their three SB appearances this decade when we were sunk in mediocrity. Let us see if the curse is indeed true.

Fixed.... please don't make that mistake again(I was at that game)

  7. FINALLY!!!!

This dude has blown chunks for years and its great to have him outta here. He was prob clamoring for terrible prospects all draft weekend and Buddy was tired of his crappy evaluating “skill”. Whitner/McCargo/Maybin/etal... thanks for nothing Modrak - I hope the door hits you on your way out!!!!

I would love to hear from all the Modrak sympathizers about how he never had final say and blah blah blah.

Modrak never had final say in anything he was Ralph's Meat Muppet, but no sympathy from me. Grow a spine and tell the old dust bag to go play tennis. He did'nt do that, so here we are, one less "yes man" at 1 Bills Drive

  8. I don't follow anyone on twitter, simply because I don't give a **** what anyone else is doing with their lives in a cyber environment. Donte uses it because he needs validation because his mommy didn't love him enough as a child. If he was a top talent, he wouldn't need that social nitwit media tool anyway.

Remember kids, You can't spell Whitner without whiner.

  9. I am OK with whatever people want to post in their own threads, but when the random opinion bashing, or internet tough guy nonsense occurs when somebody doesn't agree with your views, that's when I get nauseated with the banter around here. OR if someone thinks a thread is dumb, or ill-thought out, why even make a comment? If you don't like it, and have nothing to add, or even have a counter point that's not an insult, then what do you have to gain from it?

Trust me, nobody thinks your half-witted, or smartassed comments are cool except you.

  10. Ahem.... Mr Nix, If you're reading this, do me, every Bills fan on this planet, your children, their children, your neighbors, and the entire population of Guam A FAVOR, PLEASE DO NOT PICK CAM NEWTON.

    Wait... I meant to say

PLEASE DO NOT PICK CAM NEWTON...DON'T LOOK AT HIM, BUY HIM COFFEE OR EVEN WAIVE TO HIM. HELL, DON'T EVEN TAKE A WIZ NEXT TO HIM IN THE MENS ROOM.

Unless you want to be the guy who goes down in history as the one who discovered a thinner and dumber version of jamarcus Russell.

    That is all.... good talk.

  11. Sorry PTR the blue pants suck Donkey spunk big time, and these unis are, in my opinion, the worst uniforms just next to the current ones in team history. Grey face masks too? Lame.

No effort put into this uniform change at all, no attempt made at studying what the team's fan base loves most (Throw-Backs, see the highly successful Sabres uniform change), and completely not in line with what looks good in the NFL today.

This team has now officially become a train wreck, no, worse... an obese woman in spandex pants and an ill-fitted shirt in the mall. You don't want to look, but find it difficult to look away, but don't dare laugh or point, because that's just not a classy or morally decent thing to do.

Well, this is the Bills, the laughing stock of professional sports, and people are laughing, and people are pointing.

Hey Russ, I'm in for updates.... keep it coming, but one question... do you have a running bet on how much mindless and stupid stuff you can pull off without getting ****-canned? It simply can't be that you are this stupid, could it?

  12. The Bills franchise misfortunes are a paradox waiting to happen.

For example: If you build a time machine to go back in time to prevent a tragedy from occuring, something else will bad will happen in order for your time machine to exist.

If the Bills had started Doug Flutie in lieu of Flop Johnson, something else would have occurred that day to prevent them from winning, like an int return for a touchdown in the final minutes of a doug flutie comeback attempt, or like the year before when Eric Moulds fumbling on a sure touchdown in Miami(that's what the world saw, I saw something else happen, I have a time mahcine) so I speak from experience here.

No matter what this team does, they will always be just what we thought they were until someone else owns them.

someone very wise once said "If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got"

I still love watching them though.

    :wallbash:

  13. while it seems like there is a lot of time to still get a new deal done, neither side is willing to bend on several issues, and the owners are in good financial position to go ahead and shut down 2011, even without the TV money. In my view, i don't see them playing any games at all this year.

  14. Don't you think that selling luxury suites is the goal of this whole thing? Of course it's difficult, if it wasn't all of the suites at the Ralph would be sold to businesses and our financial issues wouldn't be as dire.

First they need to build a large fan base in the area so that ratings are high enough for Canadian companies to justify spending on sponsorships at the Ralph. Once that happens they'll have a much greater pull with businesses from Toronto to Buffalo...

I get it everyone, it sucks that we lost a home game but Buffalo's business economy can't support the Bills on their own. Embrace the concept of a "regional market" cause it's coming (if it isn't already here). Doesn't mean the Bills will leave Buffalo, but it does mean they're going to have to be open to doing business in a different way than the past.

Regionalizing the team is a great idea, and the challenges a smaller market team faces are corporate sponsorship dollars, not season ticket holders, the Bills have had no trouble selling seats to the current area. That's never been the problem. Getting corporate sponsorship from these regional cities is a challenge, but not impossible. If this little fiasco in the Rogers Centre brings a few over the border to actually fill suites, advertise in the stadium, or hold events in their town that involve the Bills Franchise, then great.

I clearly see moving games out of 1 Bills drive as counter productive for both the team and WNY. While the area is struggling with the economy, and NY state choking off one business after another, it is by and large, a very populated area from a season ticket holder perspective.

I think way too many people involved with the organization have been hypnotized by Ralph's decades long rant about how it's no longer possible to keep the team in the area.

I can't for the life of me see how the team could ever be successful playing less home games than the rest of the league, whether you choose to accept that or not is up to you, but the reality is that as long as the BIlls are a Buffalo team, Toronto will always be a neutral site AT BEST.

A winning team is not going to sway a die hard Miami fan or Steelers fan in Toronto into a Bills fan.

  15. What would have been smarter in my opinion, is selling some advertising and luxury suites to all these Toronto based businesses that may do business either in the states, or have a large client base in the Canadian viewing area. But that was probably too hard, and would have exposed Russ Brand-Boob as the fraud that he is. Instead, he chose to rob WNY of 1 out of ONLY 8 home games the area gets each year. Thanks Russ for the punch to the back of the head...
