  1. I want Mankins and Gronk to both play and still beat them. Edelman out though can be a problem for them. Welker will then be seeing double coverage. Gronk will have to stay on the line to protect Brady. They are pretty thin all ready, and if even one of them is not 100% Brady could be in for a rude awakening.

The Browns were supposed have one of the best OLs in the league and our defense still sacked Weeden a lot and got 2 interceptions. This offensive line of the Pats will be in trouble. JMO. The Pats are always going to be a threat with Brady steering the offense, but he's only one guy. He needs people around him and that is not looking too good for him. I expect the Bills defense to be a real problem.......Bills were on fire against the Chiefs at home and will be pumped for this one too. Listening to Kyle Williams, he is not taking anything away from the Pats. He says that they are the top dog in the division until someone knocks them out. He is not looking for injury weaknesses, but simply beating them strait up. That attitude is what will turn the tables. The Pats are in trouble.

And that's exactly what I preach Rockinon!! ATTITUDE!! That's where it all starts.

  2. Its a game we could win. I just really think its up to the Bills.

We already know the Pats are the pats. We know what they have and what they can do. The question for the Bills is WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO ABOUT IT??!!

It starts with their attitude and heart. Realize you can win because you have beaten them before.

Understand it takes heart to play for quaters of strong and solid football but also without your best weapons. I believe that's where the heart really comes in too. Knowing fj and cj may not play.

Therefore, all you got must be giving for 4 quarters solidly. COME HARD OR JUST DNT SHOW UP!!

Take the game plan and execute it on both sides of the ball.

Imho, its up to the bills. HOW BAD DO THE WANT THE WIN??

The OL as a unit is playing at a very high level. The player I focused on was Cordy Glenn. He is a stud tackle who rarely goes down and is terrific on passing plays where he consistently stays in front of the defender. Usually, rookies have very uneven performances when they play. Not him. He has played as a mature player and seamlessly has blended in with the other linemen. As a second round selection he is a steal.

Our best defensive player on the field by far is Mario Williams. He is taking the pressure off of the other linemen by garnering the attention of the offensive blockers and allowing the other players on the line more room to maneuver. The wrong way to evaluate Mario Williams is to use sacks as your measuring stick. He is playing with a bad hand and yet he is still the focus of attention of the offensive blockers. He is our difference maker on defense.

Fitz fulfilled his role very well i.e. he managed the offense. Most of his throws were underneath the defense, with very few long distant passes. That's fine with me. As long as he plays within himself (limitations} he will do fine. I'm worried that the loss of Spiller is going to allow the defense to play a tighter game and make Fitz less effective. In the limit amount of time that Spiller played in this game he demonstrated how dynamic a player he is and how important he is as a playmaker. I hope his injury isn't long-term.

What impresses me the most about Graham at this point is that he has very good hands. Speedster don't usually catch the ball too well. He might be a little raw but he is going to be force fed into contributing sooner than the coaches had planned.

Rookie CBs usually struggle and have inconsistent games. It is part of the learning process. He is going to be a good player for us. Don't fret it Bill. Be patient and you will be rewarded. Review the Spiller development.

    .

Not for a top 10 pick!!
  4. I agree with buffalo west. The front four have to bring much more to beat the pats.

We really need to be physical. Sure we can be aggressive, but we need to be physical as well.

Same thing with the O. We need to take our time and execute at a high rate. Imho, I think the team needs to raise its level of play altogether.

    A&E FELLAS....ATTITUDE AND EXECUTION!!

How bad do they(bills) want it? Its also a division game. We really need this one.

  5. Good post!!

I would really like to see MW moved around a bit. I've said this in a previous post. I really think it would give offenses head aches.

If u have a TE staying home and the d has taking notice, why not switch MW to the other side. Of course it would have to be done as soon as they see the formaion that the O is in. Id like to see him and MA flip flop real quick. I think its worth a try.

Could you imagine what the left tackle would be thinking?? "Where the hell did he come from?!!"

Id also like to see them load up on MW's side. I really think that could make a difference too. Pertaining to his sack count. Just a couple thoughts.

  6.

I noticed this as well. I also wonder if his groin is still troubling him.

A win is a win, no matter the opponent.

It was wonderful to see Gailey take the game out of Fitz's hands and put it in Spillers. And even better to see Spiller pick up where he left off last week.

A healthy FredEx along with Spiller will be a great thing to see.

Fitz sucked again, but at least he didn't hurt the team this week.

Gilmore seems to be holding an awful lot on coverage. Got away with most of it today.

And I just thought it was me who saw that!! You're right CM, he dam sure did. I was thinking to myself, the regular refs wouldn't allow him to get away with it too much.

I understand. Perspective around the league is that Denver ran 54% of the time last year, which is the highest since chan took the helm.

The only other team to break 50-50 was Houston at 52% (I could see the argument that especially without schaub and Johnson the offense was like ours- meh passing game with good backs- but the D was much better which helps grind things out).

The smash mouth 49ers were 3rd highest percentage at 49% rushing plays. Great defense, and leads again a real theme unless your qb is tebow running the option.

I'm not saying your wrong, just trying to give some around the league perspective on the splits. Going 55-60% run would be put us firmly in the top 5 for the last decade, and we would have by far the worst defense of the group (I'm talking ravens and steelers as the baseline in that group). Additionally many of those are before opening the passing game up by protecting receivers.

If it worked, we'd be a bit outside the norm.

The niners passed more than they ran and have a best in the league type defense. Also played with leads. A few things to keep in mind.

    thanx NoSaint
  8. RUN THE DAM BALL!! Its a copy cat league, right? Well we should try to copy the niners!

Alex smith is ass and we all know that, but he manages the game. Their offense has frank gore and vernon davis. Sure they just picked up moss and manningham, but look at last year.

We just need our defense to come to the game and go for broke. I truly believe our defense will be fine.

As for the O, chan ask to much of fitz in imho. He has this complex passing O with the best career back up in the league at the helms. Honestly fellas, chan needs to scale back with the responsibilities that he places on fitz. Allow him to just manage the game. Run and set up the play action. I actually think fitz runs the play action well.

And if the niners aren't a good example of comparison, pls someone tell me why not?

  9. Good points fellas!! But chalk the bat downs and picks on fitz. Sure it gets batted down if the ball is behind u!!

I just posted in another thread about the team taking on the personality of the HC! Maybe that was the problem yesterday or at least it plays a part.

  10. I was waiting for a post like this. NO HEART is exactly right when it comes to the Jets. And you can't be mad at them. The jets do what the bills allow them to do.

Its like getting bullied. Until you stand up, look him square in the eyes, and punch him in the f*cking mouth, you get the same results......AN ASS WHOPPING!!

Honestly, I think it starts with the HC. It is said the team takes on the personality of the HC. If that's the case, chan needs to get his head out of his ass and put a foot in theirs(bills). I believe that will transfer to the field of play.

The bills have to start standing up for themselves. What pissed me off the most was watching the jets laugh at us!! That sh*t just sends me through the roof.

    A&E......ATTITUDE AND EXECUTION!!

Need an example, just look at the San fran and Green bay game.

Did you see the attitude of the niners?

It was like Aaron who?? F*CK HIM!! GOT GET HIM!! MATTER OF FACT, ILL GO GET HIM!!

Attitude and swagger, that's what the bills lack. Oh and some other things, but heart and attitude would help!

  11. Really look foward to your post Bill! I don't usually post in response but today I gotta vent.

You're wrong about spiller. The dude came to play today. As for the fumble, IT WASN'T ONE!! He clearly did not have possession of the ball. If you dvr'ed the game, take a good look at the play.

And in spiller or fred jackson's defense, how can either win you a game when we have a pass happy hc that doesn't realize he needs to base his offense on the run and not the pass.

Fitz is what he is. The best career back up in the league. To much responsibility has been placed on fitz. Chan needs to just let him manage the game and base the offense on the run.

Imho, look for gilmore to get burnt some more. He was a mid second round pick at best and I will not change my stance on that. I know he's a rookie but I just feel we should have taken Kirpatrick. All I know is he played on the best D in the country last year. And I dnt follow college ball like I do the Nfl, but evry week I heard about claborne and kirpatrick. I didn't hear bout gilmore till the combine.

Just an awful display today. Hopefully we can bounce back next week.

Oh....and mckelvin needs to be cut. We can make as many excuses as we want for him but he's a bust!!

  12. K-9, you nailed it!! Absolutely flat and that has to do with coaching.

    And let me add......F*CKING SOFT!!

So the bills continue to allow the jets to bully them!! When will they stand up and go toe to toe with them? I mean, when it comes to the jets, will they just continue to be soft?

The bills are simply not aggressive enough!! Its a disgrace!! If they didn't want to play, than why not just stay home. Win or loose, they need a serious gut check!!

I listen to WIP sports radio out of Philly all the time, and they had absolutely zero interest in keeping VY around after last season. One of the hosts was citing a source within the organziation and really throwing the guy under the bus. They made no effort to bring him back.

If possible, try listening to 97.5 the fanatic. They were interested. However, Andy told him he has more to offer. He could start for another team. And that was from an interview that the fanatic had with Coach Reid.
