I'm one of those so called dick head fans in Philly! Watch your mouth!! The only team I don't ride with is the Eagles. And what would make Philly fans dick heads and not Bills fans? I think all fans are the same when it comes to their teams. You have fans that encourage and ones that do the opposite! One thing bout Philly fans, we don't sugar coat ****!! And if a player !@#$s up or is !@#$ing up, we let them know, DUFF. But were just as loyal as Bills fans! I got the best of both worlds!! Lol
As for the op, solid points. I know its easier said than done, but we must remain patient. Our time is coming and since Chix was hired that was the start. I've stated in other post, Nix is responsible for the majority of talent the Chargers have. They are in the post season every year.
As for the late round picks we chose, all I can say is.....STEVIE JOHNSON!!

If he's the nickel back he's basically a starter. It's a passing league. Many teams run three and four receiver sets consistently. Need more
than two corners. Stop complaining. The Bills needed a DB. And won't be surprised if they draft another.
A nickel back is a starter in todays NFL. FB position has been replaced by an extra WR.
EXACTLY!! I believe they will. My only concern is we didn't get the past rushing lb. Hope we still can if ones available.

Good looking out Astro! I really wanna grab Blaine from the Mines in round #7.
-
The double trade-down is my curveball.
Bills trade with Cleveland, who takes Peterson.
Houston calls and wants to leapfrog Dallas, and takes Fairley. Bills now have RD2#34, 37, 42 and RD1#11.
BILLS DRAFT
11 Buffalo Cameron Jordan DE34 California
34 Buffalo Martez Wilson ILB Illinois
37 Buffalo Phil Taylor DT34 Baylor
42 Buffalo Ryan Mallett QB Arkansas
68 Buffalo Curtis Brown CB Texas
100 Buffalo Pernell McPhee DE43 Mississippi State
122 Buffalo Tom Keiser OLB34 Stanford
133 Buffalo Rob Housler TE Florida Atlantic
169 Buffalo Jos. Barksdale OT LSU
206 Buffalo Chris Conte FS California
245 Buffalo Roy Helu RBF Nebraska
I wish Astro!!

Let me chime in..... O....thanx so much NGU! As for Cam, I just want to say this in his defense. Where the hell was Marcel Dareus when Cam and Auburn came back for the win? Don't get me wrong, its not a knock on MD at all. He's actually my 1st choice! However, it does show Cam was a monster at that level. MD is considered one of if not the best dt in the draft. Well Cam beat him and his team. The fact that he would sit behind fitz makes it a good fit for us. With all that being said, ill still take MD or VM at three. Jmo fellas.
-
Thanx for sharing.
-
NO WAY!!! If NE wanted to trade for MD, that's all the reason to keep him. They stockpile picks and now you want to trade a few, huh? Get the hell out of here! They wouldn't get MD in this lifetime. I look at all the picks we would get, but it would be like helping them. And when was the last time we beat them?
HELL NO! Play wit the devil and get burnt to a crisp!! Ill pass.
However, that doesn't mean I wouldn't trade with someone else. Jmo

Change #34 and I'm all on board! Really like your two 7th rounders! BIG NASTIES!

I almost like Quan Sturdivant more, he seems like a more reliable option and has somewhat similar size to Wilson. Might want to give him a look as well. youtube.com/watch?v=8_S_ZUk-YKc
That's cool 1960, but that was my point with OldTimer. Why isn't he ranked before Martez Wilson?! If he was, you take him! I think Quan is a projected 3rd rounder. We'll see. It just reminds of the Maybin pick. Why take the fourth best D-end when you could have had the 1st? Just my thoughts.
-
I am with you in terms of bolstering the D in this draft. I do have to disagree with the idea that since some view Wilson as the
best ILB in the draft, that it means he is one of the best LBs in the draft. Being the best of a very weak ILB class does not mean
that Wilson will be a good pro and worth the 34th pick.
For where you disagree, let me rephrase. Hes the best at his position. If not, he wouldn't be ranked where he is or perhaps some one would be ranked before him! He's an early 2nd possible late 1st round pick. I dnt think it would be a reach OldTimer.
-
I like Martez. If he is rated as the best Ilb in the draft, why not take him? All these guys have flaws, but that's what coaching is for.
If we take Von Miller or Marcel D. I still like MW at #34. The only exception is Phil Taylor at #34 if we take VM at#3.
So we would have two of the best lbs in the draft, if we go VM, MW. There are a lot of big nasties in the draft to grab in round 3 and down.
Now as for Qb, I really feel if we don't take one at #3, then don't take one at all! And yes I am bringing up Levi to play back up. Otherwise, why is he on the roster? On the other hand, we can go get a vet.
Defensive draft... take advantage of it I say. If we're still rebuilding, grab a qb next year. Its a surplus of defensive talent and that's the way we should go. Maybe a rt or te, but for the most part all D!!
Check out Drafttek. It gives a good idea of big nasties from round 3 and down. Credit to Astrobot. But either way we'll see come Thursday.

LMAO!!!!!!!

#3Dareus, #34Martez Wilson
-
Miller then Taylor-Baylor is an interesting way to do that. I still think ILB will need to be drafted early in this particular draft. How about NT Kenrick Ellis with our first RD4 pick?
Love it! How bout VM, Martez Wilson, Ras-I D, and then K. Ellis??
-
I think Antonio Coleman is going to factor in this year as well as these other previous draft picks.
I agree with you there, Astro! When its all said and done I think he's going to be pretty good!
-
Batten has been in on all team meetings as an ILB, according to Allen Wilson at Buffalo News. He has all the tools. I think he's one starting ILB on opening day.
I do think the Bills will take another ILB in the draft, earlier rather than later--Martez Wilson, Mason Foster (my favorite at this point for #34), Akeem Ayers if we obtain a lower 2nd Rounder, or Casey Matthews at RD4#100.
Would love Martez Wilson in the 2nd and Casey in round 4. Really dig draftek Astro. I've been checking out the mocks for a while now. GREAT STUFF!
-
Nope, that's about it.
Basically, I want to build a BIG, NASTY defense, and those two picks combined do nothing to get us closer. Now, I'm willing to be open to the Miller pick if we can go DL and big guys later on. It's only fair, as Ive suggested we take a QB in the first and big D the rest of the way.
It's simply that the combination of Miller AND Ponder as our net take from #3 and #34 overall seems... I dont know, like we left a lot of talent on the board.
Dank, you gotta check out Draftek. Credit to Astrobot. Its a lot of BIG NASTIES we can grab.
-
If our draft seriously goes Miller/Ponder, I may just become a UFL fan.

You and I both Dank!!

Some people have the ability to read between the lines and not just look at one thing they say and make a final opinion on it. Other do not. If you actually listened to Buddy's other WORDS that he spoke, you would find out that the guy is open to it, but he would LIKE to stay in the top 10. And being one pick off from the top ten has got to be a deal breaker wouldn't it?
For one, it wasn't just one thing he said. Two, there are no lines to read between. Perhaps you should read his quotes again and look at what he states about being in the top 10. Your perception is your own, but u can always ASK HIM YOURSELF! Lol
-
Really? Did Buddy tell you that? If so ask him why one spot makes a difference.
"Nix on the merits of trading down" bb.com posted april 5, 2011 by Chris Brown. So after you read the article, you can ask him yourself.
-
How bout Gabbert down 10! Just don't get all the love for this guy.
-
Won't happen! Buddy said he wouldn't trade out of the top 10. Houston would have to give a hell of a lot.
-
Nothing is more embarrassing then not being able to stop the run. We are dead last at stopping the run. So lets draft a QB who will sit on their ass for the year or two and we can be last in the NFL again. Lets ignore front 7 help, especially when it is the deepest DL draft possibly ever. Lets ignore are defensive problems, and draft a QB(Newton will be a bust IMO), then we can set our selves up to draft Andrew Luck next year
AND SO WILL GABBERT, IMO!!
-
Can we pick up a later round monster of a man NT in the mid / late rounds of the draft to back up Troup and start Torell T.? With Kyle at an end and Carrington and Edwards also at the edges, can we get V. Miller and with a " big " Ilb included in drafting this year, could we play a solid 3-4 with some success?
We sure could!! Check out Drafttek. Oh.....credit to Astrobot.

I agree! Coaching is the key for all our draft picks. I just wonder, would Maybin perform the same if he went to the Steelers? Anyway.....hope he turns out to be a monster.
