  1. Really? I must have been watching a different game.

ya maybe baseball and you thought it was the football. Just because you don't notice details you could not act like the OP is an idiot with your condescending answer. You might as well have said" really ? I am very simple and don't notice details". Or " me like football."
  2.

Worst post of 2012 here ??? Watch Stevie run routes his footwork is immaculate especially on shorter routes. A day off for a WR who gets 1000 yards back to back years ? Revis is good but he does hold and mug a lot and the refs do give him a lil more leeway.

I can understand putting Brady on a pedestal but not revis....come on man

You won't put revis on a pedestal but you bow to Sj as if he's Jesus. "Immaculate" ????come on. Do you volunteer to wash his balls after the game too? His immaculate balls. lol

I have a prediction too. It's that someday, you'll begin to have a basic understanding of how punctuation works. You probably still won't even have the slightest clue about how football is played, but your sentences might be a little more coherent.

I know. Rookies who don't like a post that rips their fav player like to go after punctuation. It's a cell phone problem but who knows if you've ever gotten off aol and your 33.6 modem. You obviously got hurt I didn't post that sj is gonna own revis again. Fyi. My post doesn't dictate the future and guys who rip grammar are lame and have no logical retort. That's "retort", I know you thought "retard" right?

  3. what if we trade__________ for _____________ and then ____________ to ___________________ and then __________ to ________________ for _____________?

we really need a thread for every guys idea of a trade? even without any news of it being a remote possibilty.

  4. He won't. And i strongly believe we ruined his career. O well.

ya, how unfair it was to give him 3 years at the reigns and name him starter when he had already failed multiple times. It was also our fault that he refused to throw normal passes in the nfl. The kind that go 10 yards or more. What jerks we were to "ruin" him by not giving him the best o line in the nfl. I personally would never go make millions, be on TV, be famous, then refuse to just throw a ball ten yards...that would ruin me!

We must have been sitting right next to each other.. I was in the 12th row at the 50 yard line on the visitors side right behind the bills bench.

i was actually underneath your seat the whole time. did you notice me? I didnt mind until you ordered that burrito.

    Its known as "inconsistent"

its called, he wouldnt throw down the middle in any game before arizona, he wouldnt throw down the middle in any game after arizona. after the chargers, the NFL figured out to cover te backs and trent was finished....as simple as that.

  5. Ok so ya we look like crap so far, and ya its just preseason and we're just "evaluating" talent so before we start cutting players and calling for new coaches lets have some fun. These are the best bills quotes I can think of but I know there are lots more so lets start compliling them all.

1." Its hard to win in the NFL"- skeletor

    2. " 'must' win? world war 2, now that was a 'must' win."- marv

    3. " Im Ko simpson and Im worth millions"- K.S.

  6. If you still honesty believe that getting a 4th round pick for Evans was a bad trade then you are beyond delusional. Either that or you're not big enough to admit you were wrong. Don't worry, you may still get to see your hero play again, I hear the Ti-Cats are interested.

i guess you dont read my posts, but just repeat your opinion without letting logic or reasoning sink in.

I'm done with this argument. Just like you did, I will add my last point. The only way to judge a player is by his statistics. It's "official". There is no "ifs" or "buts" about statistics. They are what they are. Easley and Merriman BTW are bother under 27 years old so that throws a wrench into the argument because I said players generally lose a step after 30, which Evans is.

I agree with you that he COULD come back and be productive. I'm not saying it's impossible. I just don't think Lee is the guy that's going to do it.

Let's put our money where our mouths are. I'm already in the hook with a lucky winner here I might as well give you the same. Let's make a bet. A beer to whoevers right. I'll bet you that Lee never finishes another 16 games ever. And I'll double down on it if you want. If he does, I'll double up if he ever has a year where he has over 40 catches and 500 yards. I'm game if you are. Let's shut the f*%k up and let Lee do the talking here. If your in, save this post and LOL at me all you want while you drink your beer. I'm confident, are you?

almost all people on the board understand how statistics dont show the truth. there are many ifs, and statistics totally lie, very often. Heres a famous one. under wade philips we were 21-10 or some BS like that. = he was a good coach. But the truth was, under our defense and doug flutie we were 21-10, and the losses were the games wade put rob johnson in. if you watched those seasons you could see wade was an idiot. but the sats lie. Trent was 5-1 once without going deep once. right now chan is 10-22, but everyone loves him. stats prove themselves over time. a very long time. like Brett farve or jerry rice. no one can argue these type of stats, but where are wade and trent now? wheres chan gailey? wheres rob johnson who always mantained a high qb rating in all his losses?

but ill take you and your beer bet.

Last year's AFC Championship game erased any good will that Evans may have built up throughout his career. Ask any Ravens fans here in Baltimore if they wanted him back. He is the chump of chumps... sad but true.

i said when he was "here" and one play doesnt erase 7 years of good play, oh and SJ must be a double chump for having two huge drops....where no one was near him.

  7. we picked up a firsts several times on it last year.

it forces other teams to waste game prep time on it.

It is easy for us to run as its mostly just a power running option type offense.

It helped miami win a lot of games on when they sucked otherwise.

It allows some cheap td passes if you run it effectively.

and finally.....it worked well as a change up in Madden! if i ran it too much it would get stuffed but when i yanked it out on big third downs it would always work. it is just so different than a normal play it throws defenses off.

    I like it!

  8. I have no problem with Moorman, McGee, or even Lindell being on this team. If they are consistently mediocre (Kelsay), fail in the clutch (Evans stevie johnson),

i fixed your post rico, when exactly did evans ever fail in the clutch? crap season statistcs were more a result of crap coaching and worse QB'ing, but I dont remember any big game drops when evans was here. Not like SJ's pittsburg or NY jets game losing drops.

  9. First, I'm not going to mention the other players again that have been shipped out of town. This thread isn't about them. It's about Lee Evans. I know he has lost a step because THE ONLY OFFICIAL WAY TO JUDGE A PLAYERS PLAY IS BY HIS STATISTICS!!! You can't judge him by the "IT" factor, you can't judge him by how nice he is, you can't judge him by how old he is, you can't judge him anything else. The only sure way to do it is by his production. And Lees production has been horrible the last 3 years in a row. And before those 3 years it was only good for 2 of the rest. Not great but good. I'm not saying he CANT come back and be productive but I'm saying the odds are against him at this point. He was MOSTLY a speed demon. Not saying he woulnt or couldn't run many routes. I don't care how many routes he can run. He didn't. He mostly ran flys and posts and after being 31 and after a few injuries it doesn't look good. Again, not saying he won't or can't be as fast but the odds are against him. You don't see too many 31 year olds running the 100m dash in the Olympics do you??? They don't because they generally can't keep up with the young 22 year olds. It's just a fact that when you get older you slow down. I'm not going to male a guess how old you are but I'm over 30 and I can tell you I don't move the way I did when I was 22. Ya I'm sure it's not always the case but the general consensus is that people slow down as they get older.

I will comment on Stevie J and his game against the Jets. I will not compare it to Lee because there is no comparison to make. I'm only mentioning it because you made a point to say everyone thinks this performance was all worldly. There's a reason for that. He put up that performance against agruably the best CB in the game today. That's the Only reason why people think it was good.

As far as Easley or Graham goes. It doesn't matter if they will be better or not. Because they don't have to replace Lee Evans. That's not thier job. If they are better, great, if not, I don't care. We got A draft pick for an aging WR that is now battling injuries and was on his last year of his contract and wouldn't have been resigned anyway.

Instead of stating your unconditional love for Lee Evans and hating on the Bills and all the moves they make, take a look at some of the guys they DID sign and kept as apposed to the few they didn't.

    Freddy

    Stevie

    Fitz

    Williams

McGee- which is proving to be a mistake

    Wilson

for every guy you say is a mistake to let go of, I can name one that wasn't let go. It's a business and these things happen. We, as fans can't make a guy stay or want to stay in Buffalo. Guys like McGahee for example. If they want out, do you really want a guy like that playing out his contract? You really want his loud mouth in the locker room being a cancer to the rest of the team? Cmon bro. Your better than that. There is not 1 single person in Buffalo that Thought getting rid of Willis wasnt a good idea. And that's why I question your intelligence or where you live. Because if you lived here at the time of Willis' badmouthing the city and making comments about how the team would be better off in Toronto and you still wanted him then I don't know what to say.

On my final note. The HUGE reason why I think Lee Evans is finished is this: he was injured, traded, injured again, cut, picked up, cut again all within a year. The guys that know what they are taking about like Nix, Newsome, and whoever the Jags have have made my mind up for me. They are the professionals and do this everyday. They know talent when they see it. Like I said before. It's not like the Bills let him go and he is doing good now. He was let go by 3 NFL franchises. And he's not exactly lighting up the phones with calls now is he. Sure I don't know what's going on in the rest of the league and his Verizon service but in today's age with Twitter and Facebook and ESPN you pretty much know everytime one of these guys takes a piss let alone tries out for a team. I haven't heard Any of that. Heck, even TO who is hated by most and out of the league for a year got a job. Just saying man. The league proving you wrong at this point.

wow you really mix and match points just to suit your argument dont you. I said the old regimes cut good players, you point out current players who we signed. I agree with what we do now, including keeping meriman and easley until we know for sure. You are wrong about graham, he was most definitely signed as evans' replacement, you said speed was evans' game, well evans was faster and stronger than graham, who was signed for his speed, as quoted by chan. i think i said twice about mcgahee being an example of a productive old guy, cut by the ravens...who is still starting even though hes slower. you argue about "why we cut him" i know why, but it doesnt change the facts about what happened after we cut him and his current age= to evans.

one more try...the point is lee evans could still be very good, you dont really know anymore than what someone watching the news knows, there are 30 teams that may sign him still, if they do and he plays well...you are totally wrong about your position on his skills and if we made a mistake. I dont think a fourth for a first rounder is a good trade, we also had to use a third on his replacement who may suck.

so why you try to argue that age = lost speed, mcgahee was a cancer, bills made good signings etc... I dont know. i agree with all that. But i also see alot of old guys that have second winds in their careers after injury. your main point is "3 YEARS OF POOR STATS" ok well thats a rediculous point. He was injured for half of the last two seasons and the third season had trent edwards at qb who won 2 games and never threw deep! stats dont tell that story and if injuries are used to judge players, how were merimans and easleys last two years? why do we keep them around?

  10.

I really can't say anymore to base my argument other than the factual evidence based on official statistics than I already have. If you still feel he's great, then I'll let you think that. I'm done here.

are you done? really? So you missed the point and made a few assumptions

    1. you know lee evans "lost a step"? how do you know this? he played well in the afc champ game, he had 5 catches and a huge missed td, just like SJ in his much revered REVIS GAME. we lost that game on SJ's drop but now we say it was a all-league performance.

    2. the point made about spikes, fletcher, and mcgahee wasnt about attitude, its about waiting to see if the injury or age really will matter, rather than just cutting a guy the year hes injured and assuming hes "done". (notice how now we wait on easley and meriman for years)

    3. also mcgahee was cut by the ravens, did that mean he was "done"? hes 31 and lost a step but still gets it done. did evans also lose his hands because of age?

4.lynch and poz were mentioned as the replacements to fletcher and mcgahee, we wasted first rounders on those two and they didnt work out. we could have just kept london and mcgahee and forced mcgahee to play out his contract. but thats besides the point.

instead of asking if i was out of town or suggesting im clueless, read the post better and you will see nothing i said can be argued. no one here knows for sure lee evans true condition and trying to guess it due to his being cut...is just a guess. We now have to hope easley or graham are as good as evans was....and I highly doubt they will be.

if evans has a good year it will be one more example of us shippin out an injured player who makes a comeback for someone else.

  11. To be fair... In that preseason Trent was awesome, practice too. He looked like Gailey had fixed him

ii dont remember awesome, i remember alot of saying how he didnt read the defense, or go deep still,, i remember beat writers saying he kept getting hit on the chin in practice and throwing wobbly deep balls. The main point was, being cut means nothing, and being kept, can mean nothing, and being injured is temporary. and that coaches are more biased than us. we want everyone cut or traded it seems and say everyones "finished" after 30

  12. What proves your argument more than anything is the fact that Lee has been traded for a 4th, injured for the majority of a season, and cut from 2 different teams in 6 months. And this is all after one of the worst years of his career. Unfortunately for us people that see things logically, the "crushers" will never let it go. Its like the guy that has his heart broken by his girl but still drives by her house every once in a while. It's just sad now.

to me thats the whole reason this has happened. he was injured before being traded, then injured again , then had a bad afc non-catch(not drop) then he picks the jags and thinks he'll be a # 3 or a 4. maybe lee asked for a release? maybe this is still injury related.

Maybe you all said the same things about takeo spikes when he got hurt, then cut, then went to two teams, then played great for another 3-4 years. Or a guy named lynch, wou was traded for a fourth, played backup on the seahawks for half a season, now look at how crappy he is playing. Or maybe youve heard of old washed up london fletcher, is he still around? we cut his worthless a$$ right? we replaced him with a better guy (Poz,who we let go already) oh and howd our mcgahee trade work out? did we finally get a running back after spending two first rounders to replace him? does he still play after being cut by the ravens? isnt he 31? isnt our starting RB 31?

Logic? maybe if you take two seconds to look at history you could see how many players we said were washed up, or too old and then spent years trying to replace them, the whole while watching them rack up numbers for another team.

  13. What I am saying is that fans watching TV insist they know talent better than NFL staffs who actually work with players.

    PTR

ya like when us fans only saw trent edwards play on tv,but gailey and nix thought they could resurrect him and named hm the 2010 starter. what did we know!

We see alot on tv because the games are what count, not the practices. coaches who sign guys off other teams do this mainly from what they saw in games also. They dont have daily interactions with them. I think if anyones biased its coaches who draft and sign 'their own" and cant admit when they messed up, and stay attatched way too long. We are far less biased as fans (most of us)

Usually i agree w you ptr, but whats going on with you lately? you will need to admit youre wrong when lee gets signed by the next team and contributes.

  14. Just to set you straight, look at this play again. See how Evans had the ball in his hands. The defender then attempts to knock the ball loose and it comes out. You focus on the word 'drop'. Fine, even if we not call that a drop, that was clearly a ball which should have been secured quickly. Evans was facing the defender, he knew he was coming and yet did not do enough to hold on to it. This is the difference between physical receivers who will out-duel the defender for the ball and those that are over the hill and can make the cream puff catches only. Lee Evans had good hands once but never superlative. He was not one to consistently win the battle with a defender.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yIH-GrnnPVM

I was a big Evans fan. Here I will admit disagreeing with the Bills front office for trading him without a viable replacement. And yet, here we are with Evans unable to find a roster to hang on to. His legacy forever tainted by the one non-catch which could have made him almost immortal in Ravens-land. And the Bills walked away with a fairly high pick for his declined skills.

if you read my post, you will see i said he wasnt physical, but tht it wasnt a drop, thats a 100 percent accurate, it wasnt a drop, thats what i said. nothing about, if he shoulda had it. HE SHOULD HAVE. but the defender got lucky. not only hitting the ball perfectly straight down between his hands where they couldnt stop the force of the DB, but also if you look closely, he hit Lee's face mask in the same motion. Not excusing Lee but the PHYSICS of the play dont know it was a super bowl bound play or a pre season play.

Let me say this...many of Lees td's in his career, I noticed, were effortless, some one handed, in the endzone, along the sideline, dragging two toes. I was always amazed he didnt drop them but that was his advantage, being completely fluid and pure in his style. I dont think Lee ever had to be "physical", it wasnt really necessary. I think it was horrible luck, that the one time he needed to be like Micheal Irvin, or Andre Reed, he played soft and had the ball knocked out of his hands. But he did have "superaltive" hands which means he caught the balls that were in his hands, that a defender did not also get his hands on.
