  1. Patriots both stunting and delay blitzing off those stunts
  2. Yea and some of the limitations we have. It’s definitely an under talented unit
  3. Very interesting! Great catch by you there. At his size that’s being a significant object in the view of an under pressure QB
  4. They’re really not that bad. But yes they don’t compare to the Chiefs or Bengals. Think the Bills need to score 40+ to win either of those games
  5. Man a lot of Patriot injuries out here
  6. Which will certainly be an interesting test for the Bills secondary as the Pats have been throwing well the last few weeks and Meyers is turning into a legit weapon.
  7. Bills almost never go 0 coverage. They did that 3rd down while rushing I think 8, which tells you how Frazier feels about his coverage right now
  8. Just don’t let him throw. That’s certainly good pass defense
  9. Been harping on this secondary for half the season, and certainly losing Damar makes things worse. Really want to see something from Kair Elam today. I think he’s in here whole Dane was the last drive
  10. Truly truly amazing. The fans, the media, everyone so far a has been amazing. We need to keep pushing the NFL & The Bills to keep supporting Damar after all this energy naturally fades away. Football and sport has an outsized, positive impact on our lives and communities. These men get well paid to do what they do, and make a choice to risk their health for this sport. Still, I think it still pales in comparison to the positive community energy they bring as a team. With that it mind, if Damar is unable to play football even again, then I hope the NFL & The Bills fully support him financially until he’s able to financially support himself. As a 2nd year, 6th round draft pick, he’s probably earned less than a million dollars in earnings after taxes. A substantial sum of money, but certainly not enough to cover living expenses and long term care in recovering from this in the years that follow. And as a 2nd year player, he is not vested. I understand that “everyday” and “working class” folks don’t get these benefits (I hate both phrases in this context but am left without a better phrase it’s become so collloqueal), but I would suggest that I - and anyone else in my field - don’t have the same power as these players to bring a community together, to uplift a community after tragedy, to help instill pride in a community, among the other positive aspects of being a Buffalo Bill. That matters. Given the massive cultural impact teams make on our community, and the limited amount of players (about 2000 roster spots each year between the active roster and practice squad), and the amount of money these clubs gets from TV deals and all the other revenue streams, they need to be a lot more upfront in how they take care of players who get processed out of this league due to injury and health. I hope the NFL and the Bills support Damar for the rest of his life, for as long as it’s needed, for being a part of such a powerful cultural phenomenon, and almost dying for it Or put this way, what other person in the Buffalo community that’s not a member of this team, would inspire a rally around the community event such as what we with Damar?
  11. This man’s heart stopped 4 nights ago. I am so happily amazed and thankful right now
  12. While watching the game it always felt like the Dolphins were dictating, until the 4th, while the Bills were making the plays they needed to stay alive. That’s of course a personal feeling - hard to get a definitive answer to this. Just like the OSU - UGa game. The bucks probably deserved to win, but it wasn’t until the 4th quarter where I felt Georgia lost control of the game
  13. Such wonderful news. Can’t even imagine the relief going through his family and the Bills organization.
  14. They get to 8-3 and then lose to A) the best team in the NFC right now, possibly the NFL, in the Niners away B) a more talented, though to this point underperforming, Chargers C) arguably outplayed, but lost to the Bills away D) packers in a game where Tua played in the 2nd half with a concussion without anyone realizing it, and having basically the worst half of his career likely due to the concussion E) The pats without a QB Yes they have a losing streak, but this isn’t choking. They’re losing to teams that are more talented or when they didn’t have a healthy Tua.
  15. McDaniel would be a HC in approximately 10 minutes after getting fired. would be monumentally stupid
  16. Still the key moment is going to be how his body responds to being taken off the ventilator and how much it can operate on its own and his neurological functioning as they bring him out of sedation. Him needing less oxygen is optimistic about his bodies ability to operate on its own though
  17. Just wait. It’s the toughest thing in the world, bit speculation isn’t going to help. I’m a theist but I’m a firm believer that positive thoughts and hopes have a tangible impact on the world, and I’m a huge believer that you find your faith in humanity and the world in any way you can, and if this helps you find that through religion, then I’m joyful for you
  18. Had that kind of feel. Eventually we would have asked and Milano to take over the middle of the field rather than man blitzers, and gone a bit ball control on O
  19. My feeling/guess is we won’t know anything until tomorrow outside of “continues to show normal heart beat while breathing through ventilator under sedation”. They won’t know what kind of damage he suffered to his brain and other organs due to lack of oxygen until they pull him off the ventilator and sedation, which probably won’t happen until tomorrow. Just won’t know anything about what his health is gonna be until then. It’s awful to wait, I’m just glad his family is there, that his family has support, this his teammates have each other, and we fans have an outlet and community here as well as we wait. That’s all we can do. Wait and pray and hope and offer strength. It ***** sucks
  20. Great little thread. Bills really do have great beat writers, that know the assignment is to bring out the stories of who the players are, and the storylines of these games, while understanding and even celebrating that these are human beings that they cover
  21. I’m 43. A life long sports nut who immigrated to Buffalo at 2, lived upstate NY till 5th grade, before moving to PA and eventually going to Penn State. I bleed sports and where I’m most passionate along with just having empathy for my fellow humans. I have NEVER felt this low around sports in my life, and I hope I never will. No loss comes even remotely close to this. I think perhaps it’s the reminder of the reality that I use sports to escape from that partially makes it so upsetting, along with the natural empathy one has for the players and team you passionately root for, and remembering the feel of what it’s like to be in a football locker room for 4 years in HS
  22. A few years ago my mom found out she had MAJOR blockages across 3 arteries (she felt a bit of chest pain and went in for a check up), and needed major, almost immediate heart surgery. They waited i think 48 hours to get her ready. Entire family plus much extended family flew in for the hospital, and then waited an agonizing 8 hours. And then the Doctor said she came through the surgery well. and then we all went out for Thai and EVERYONE was in great mood. Just desperately hoping that Damar’s family and his teammates get this kind of uplifting update, which allow them a much easier time to process all the trauma of witnessing this.
  23. So as a PSU alum/fanatic I remember Damar as a recruit in I think 2016. It’s James Franklin and Urban Meyer trying to pull this kid out of Pittsburgh. Both schools wanted him. But nah, Damar wanted to lift up his hometown. Just the kind of kid he was. He knew he would have had more big moments with OSU or PSU, but he just didn’t care about that as much as he cared about his city. You read nothing but great things about him too. You didn’t want him just because he was a stud safety, but because you knew he’d represent the program really well and he’d add big value to the locker room. So glad he ended up with the Bills. Get better, and get back to that brotherhood and family, Damar.
