  1. Bills should have signed Bryant Johnson to provide the upgrade for 2008. The expectations for Hardy in 2008 are much too high and will lead to massive disappointment (and alot more Josh Reed)
  2. TSN grades each unit in their annual preview guide. Here are the secondaries: A Cowboys A- Colts B+ Jets 49ers B Ravens Dolphins Raiders Chargers Titans Cardinals Packers Vikings Eagles Seahawks Buccaneers B- Bills Broncos Patriots Bears Giants Redskins C+ Jaguars Panthers Lions C Bengals Browns Chiefs Steelers Falcons C- Texans Saints Rams
  3. sounds like the "Treadmill to Nowhere" voluntarily gut the team of talent and then cry the blues about not having enough resources to build the core of the team, like the OL.

  5. Since they lost Wolford, the Bills have been in denial about the need to acquire and/or pay for an bona fide LT, let alone the elite one they now have. Now that one fell into their lap, they still are jerking around with fair compensation, even though their only alternatives are the UDFA Chambers and Matt Murphy. At a minimum, they should move some cash to bonus pending another big year before the big payday.
  6. none better than the Bills own Carlester Crumpler

  8. Hardy also has much more to learn to adjust to the pro game. If he misses any time, he will not have any impact except on jump balls to the end zone.
  9. The DBs in the NFL will be a slight bit better than the ones he faced in college where he could rely on big size and poor technique to get by. If he works on his game, he can be productive. Time will tell
  10. But - he is tall - so the fact that he can't separate from CBs and can't get off the line of scrimmage is not material
  11. The problem is in your definition of "good"players. Schobel may have some stat numbers, but he seems to disappear in many games. He spends more time running upfield 8 yards out of teh play than making himself a consistent force. Spending money on what seems to be inconsistent production is the key.
  12. There is no question McCargo should be getting the bulk of the snaps with Stroud. Anything else and this report is just a pre-emptive strike to build the foundation for an alternative theory as to why a 1st rounder can't break into the starting lineup and is seriously under-performing.
  13. Bills could play hardball if they had a bona fide they could play at LT with a straight face - unfortunately that ship has sailed -- loaded with CBs
  14. Melvin Fowler will ssurprise. Here's hoping that the undislcosed shoulder injury that he had surgically repaired was the reason he got manhandled at times last year.
  15. For all of your brilliance, you can't grasp the concept that if the Bills had spent a few picks in the last 5 years in the top 4 rounds of the draft on OL, they would not have had to break the bank and overpay for a LG and a RT just to field a competitive OL. Elite OL may deserve big bucks, but Doclery and Walker are not elite players. The big money and resources should be going to the LT. If they don't feel comfortable extending Peters now, at a minimum they should add 1 year and convert some salary to bonus to meet Peters in the middle. If he performs n 2008, he gets his big payday.
  16. Sure would help if the BILLs had a quality backup at LT.
  17. They add SO much to any discussion. yeah - just like your post thanks for playing
  18. you pay the players that deserve it at the positions that command it. Peters is performing at a posittion that commands the big bucks. The Bills screwed up their economics by paying huge money to LG and RT which is out of whack with what those positions should be paid. They were forced to pay big bucks because they have failed to draft lower cost options for those positions. Spending 3 rnd 1-4 picks in the last 10 years on OL will result in little or no homegrown OL talent. Now they have to pay the consequences. But since they have screwed up in the past, they should not compound the problem by short changing the critical LT position now that they have lucked into a quality performer.
  19. replace him with Kirk Chmabers or Matt Murphy If the Bills want to be tightwads, they should do it with some other postion on the team.
  20. Peters may report in time for the real games, but his chances of missing time due to injury increase significatnly due to the time he misses workouts during the offseason. he already is recovering from an injury - so he is further at risk. Good thing the Bills have a good backup plan at LT Matt Murphy and Kirk Chambers to the rescue
  21. nonsense - eball, ramius and the bunch are convinced that we are fine at T. Chambers and Matt Murphy are all we need.
  22. not to let facts get in the way of a good rant - but Long has already been installed at LT and Carey has been moved to his more natural RT. Their OL, at a fraction of the cost, will be as good as the Bills. carry on
  23. Gotta like how the leaders of the team have made Buffalo their home not sure how he can comment on Lynch being a distraction when he has been out of town and away from those affected teammates.
  24. Much of Lynch getting hit in the backfield was his own doing. The blocking for Lynch looked worse than it was because Lynch consistently went to the wrong hole. As with his inability to pass block and recognize the blitz, this points to a serious flaw in his game. It was no coincidence that Lynch was not used more in the passing game- due to the mental mistakes. It is unknown at this point whether his flaws are due to lack of intelligence or poor study habits - but he needs to show major improvement this year so the Bills can exploit more than his strength in moving the pile after contact.
  25. not hard to figure most people in a drunken stupor have trouble focusing-
