  1. I think Rex and Roman already decided on and designed a lot of plays around TT. I don't think anyone saw EJ coming and they don't want to bother changing anything.
  2. I've been gone a few hours so even though I'm behind I have to comment on this. The answer is: because I don't think there are very many QBs PERIOD who can make the reads and throws EJ made the way he did. And since I haven't seen Tyrod do anything like that, nor even attempt anything like that, I question if he can do it at all. I just don't see the craziness in that.
  3. You don't have anything to say. You just have opinions with nothing to back them. I keep waiting for any insight whatsoever from you but it doesn't seem to be there.
  4. I was using your logic in the opposite direction to show the absurdity of it. You realized how dumb it was, but you can't connect it back to you. So yes, Coach, I was being a little bit of a troll but for a purpose
  5. I'm the one you're calling a troll. OK.
  6. Read over your last comment again.
  7. I'm perfectly chill. You're the one telling me I need to apologize for questioning you.
  8. So you're admitting that you're wrong if we're wrong?
  9. Too much politics for it to be Roman's call. He's an OC. Rex wants Tyrod. Whaley probably wants EJ. Russ Brandon wants Tyrod or EJ for marketing. How is Roman going to win this battle. Get out of here.
  10. I think it was clear to everyone that things changed after yesterday.
  11. Perhaps, doesn't mean he can't have a favorite.
  12. The gorgeous passes to Clay and Gragg. Watch those replays again. I haven't seen that from Tyrod yet. It would be nice if I saw a passing TD too.
  13. You underestimate what ego and stubbornness can do. Look at Chip Kelly. Heck, look at Doug Marrone.
  14. I apologize for questioning you. Please forgive me.
  15. Even in that game Tuel looked more like Taylor than EJ.
  16. I never bought the Roman and Cassel report. I think it was always Taylor and that report was leaked to give the appearance of competition. Nothing about Roman's past tells us he would prefer a QB like Cassel over a mobile QB like Taylor.
  17. OK, I'll play your game. Even in a meaningless preseason game that tells you nothing, Tyrod Taylor could not make those reads or even attempt those throws.
  18. If you can judge people in college, you can judge them in preseason. I'm getting annoyed with this argument. Sure preseason doesn't show everything, but for me it shows enough to get a sense of things.
  19. All I know is that only one guy has proven he can make those throws.
  20. All it takes is a couple completed passes like the throw to Gragg to force defenses to adjust.
  21. You win the 2015 "missed the point" award.
  22. I agree about the yips. But did you see him yesterday, looked very focused and confident. Had the respect of the huddle. Yips can be overcome, but they can always come back so it is a mark against him.
  23. I just think it's like that in everything. People want the guy they like more. If they don't like you, you have to really prove yourself and overcome the bad vibes until they can't deny it anymore.
  24. I'm hearing a lot of "preseason" doesn't matter around here. That's somewhat true, but it's very naive to think there's nothing that can be learned from it. I am slightly concerned about the defense yesterday. We went up against a super bowl winning QB on a perennial winning team, a team we could face in the playoffs if we make it, and got taken on a long drive, and I didn't even get the feeling Roethlisberger was trying that hard. We couldn't stop Martavis Bryant, how are we going to stop Antonio Brown. I'm also concerned about our secondary if McKelvin and Gilmore miss too much time. So please don't use that as your argument. These little flaws will become very apparent during the season. There's a reason we went DB with our first pick this year. I just feel "preseason doesn't count" is being used as a crutch around here when it disagrees with your viewpoint.
