  1. I know it is too late now, but supposedly only a team's flagship station has right to air preseason games. I think our's is 97 Rock? Either way I've listened to 103.3 The Edge for regular season games. Both have free online streams if you have a phone/browser with flash support.
  2. I get it now, Dr Zaius is thebowmanbody and Merle is TheProphet, both banned from the main Bills forums. At least you learned to change to new names after getting banned from multiple forums for using multiple accounts to agree with yourself. But you still have all the same old habits that make you a dead giveaway.
  3. Forget big plays, the only way the Bills have any chance of beating the Phins is if the Bills score more points than them before the end of the fourth quarter, or possibly by being the first team to score in overtime. You can quote me on that.
  4. About the comments on drafting high not working out for teams like Detroit and St Louis... I think because of the lack of a rookie salary scale, drafting high (more specifically first overall) is a self-fulfilling prophecy. Since there is little to no difference between the 32nd pick in the first round and the first pick in the 2nd round (and so on), the only difference between drafting as the champs or the worst team in the league is that the bad team gets that one first overall dibs. They now have to drop $40-50 million on a player who very well might not play to that value, or at least take a few years to develop. Which means less money for retaining or attracting quality talent, which takes more money to begin with being a bad "unsexy" team and all. Which means they have to overspend on one or two quality players, or settle on mediocre talent, either way meaning a bad record, leading to another high, expensive draft pick. The cycle continues...
  5. One exception does not disprove the rule as a whole. What about all the examples TO draft a QB in the first? Do you refuse to own a car because of that one time someone's car blew a tire and crashed? What about the thousands of other successful, non-killing-you car rides you've been in?
  6. I was just thinking about how fans on forums love to pick and choose specific stats to "prove" their argument. So here's my shot at proving how we'll be both worst and best at the same time. THE SKY IS FALLING! - Of the 3 teams to beat Indy this preseason, the Bills were the least dominant, and scored the fewest points. - Over their two games so far, the Bills allowed the second most points in the league. - The injury bug is biting again, with at least preseason-ending injuries to multiple players on both the starter and rookie fronts. SCHEDULE THE PARADE! - Production on both sides of the ball improved from the first game to the second, with double the points scored and half the points allowed. - In our two games, we have already scored more points than New Jersey and Miami have scored in three. - Spiller's ankle-breaking 31 yard TD and Bell's 8.2 YPC. Injuries won't stop our O when we're getting that production from 3rd and 4th stringers. That's just a few points for either argument, but I think you get my point. So considering the speculation is a wash, lets just enjoy the rest of the preseason en route to our first playoff in ages. GO BILLS!
  7. Baseball umps wear masks and padding, hockey refs at least wear open-faced helmets. Give the NFL refs the hockey helmets and some slim-form, lightweight pads and put them back in the D. That or give the ref control of a sky-cam, with a radio or buzzer or something to signal a linesman to throw a flag for him.
  8. Before I get into the ethics or morality of the actions of those involved, I wanted to clear up one important thing. The training camp is on PRIVATE PROPERTY. You do not have the right to free speech, or any other "right", on private property. So it is a myth that you have the right to boo, heckle, or harass ANYONE at a practice or game. The only right you have on private property is against criminal acts being done to you. Now back to the ethical aspects of it. It is clear that those kids were not Bills fans. It is one thing to boo to show dissatisfaction or toss some good-natured heckling, but no actual Bills fan would says the reportedly vulgar and obscene things to their own team that those kids were. I can tell you with a fair degree of certainty that if they were charging even $5 for tickets, those kids wouldn't have been there. Besides, what kind of idiot boosters their own team? Support to do BETTER or constructive criticism works so much better than the unimaginative and negative "boo". Otherwise, cheers to Gailey for smacking some sense into those punks with his undoubtedly large gonads. Hopefully the public tongue-lashing embarrassed some respect and common decency into them. The team will respect him for it, and "real" fans should appreciate his commitment to the team and its values.
  9. The point spread IS the general consensus prediction.
  10. Don't mean to keep complaining, but there seems to be no option to jump to a page in a lengthy thread once you are in it. Only previous and next.
  11. I am noticing that this new mobile option still uses a lot more data than the old text-based one. I appreciate the new functionality, but there is a difference between "mobile friendly" and "low data".
  12. SDS- "It is now visible via the drop down menu in the lower left hand corner. However, it should have sensed your mobile device and feed you that skin automatically. What device do you use?" When I posted earlier, the mobile (third) option wasn't showing. I am on an HTC Touch for the record. It would be nice if I could quote/reply directly to an individual post rather than have to scroll all the way to the end and post a general reply.
  13. Where did the low-data option for mobile devices go? The full site loads slower and is clumsier to navigate on my smartphone, as well as chews up my data plan.
  14. Thanks The Dean, I'm just really kicking myself that I hate the Pats too much to stomach padding the ticket betting on them to win. Would have pushed my potential $114.10 payout to $365.12.
  15. Oh don't start. Its been a long offseason. And I never bet more than $20 a week. Having a little something riding on meaningless games make them more fun to follow. Apparently the oddsmakers know something we don't. They had Indy as underdogs AT HOME last week, and the indeed lost. The other road favorite won too. I heard our starters outscored Indy's starters in the season finale. And its a $5 parlay bet. So whatever lol.
  16. My first post on these forums is to tell you I was foolish enough to put a few bucks on the Bills winning by 8 points over the Colts. Also on that ticket are the Rays over the Athletics by 2 runs, and the Arrrrrgooooos over the Tigercats by 8 points. Anyone else getting some action? I was -this- close to pulling the trigger on the Pats game too. Go Bills!
