It's Our Time.
LOL! Some season.
Thought we settled on "Unfinished Business"
When was that? 1991??? 1992?? 1993??
-
Jahri Evans is coming off of his worst pro season IMO. With that being said I would do that in a second. The Bills need a veteran offensive lineman and would be fortunate to have one with the talent of Evans.
I'd give up a late round pick. I think you may have a better off drafting someone @ 50 then trading for this guy.
-
If they draft a qb and it's not someone they think they are reaching for....
Is that person not the favorite to start? Players taken in the first 3 rounds, definitely the top 2 are expected to start in today's NFL.
I'm all about finding out qb, but I don't see how any of these guys available to us at 2 are starter worthy while there are starters at position of need to be taken.
I agree. I think you take BPA. We're in a position where the Bills can do that. The only position I don't want them to draft is RB. Other than that, go BPA!

@TorontoArgos: BREAKING: #Argos announce exhibition game vs. @BuffaloBills at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
So do they play American or Canadian rules?
-
We will need to be creative. But if they want to pound the ball, they should really get more help. They couldn't run the ball last year and so far they only just added one guy. Doesn't look good.
It's hard to say right now. I think it will be better. They have a new OL coach and upgraded with Incognito. Henderson is in his second year and so is Kouandjio. They will have a better idea as to what they need to do in the offseason to be conditioned for a full 16 game season.
Plus there is the draft. I'm not going to lose sleep over the OL.
-
This competition will bring out his potential. I think this offense will suit him well.
I see him being a beast if he can fully grasp the playbook and taking accountability and a leadership position on the team. He has new coaches and a new attitude to impress them, so if it doesn't happen for him this season, I don't see it happening ever...

Terry knows that you have to spend money to make money.
That is true to an extent. It's best to keep your top talent and replenish via the draft. Usually spending on a QB is going to keep you competitive for years to come. Unfortunately, there is no franchise QB the Bills can just go out and buy. Hopefully one of the 3 guys on the team will atleast put us in contention for a playoff birth. That isn't asking much right?

I want to take the time, again, to thank the Pegulas, to thank Doug Marrone for being an arrogant prick, and to thank Bill Polian for being a selfish coward (in this instance, normally I love the guy) so that we could be so fortunate as to have the El Petulante/Rex Roman/Doug Whaley leadership of our beloved team. It could be a long great trip.
I'm glad Polian didn't return. The guy lives in the "old" NFL. I know our roster is kind of setup like that right now, but I feel we have a lot of talent that might push us over the top into the playoffs. I guess it's just wait and see now.

@SInow: The Browns and Falcons have reportedly been informed of 'severe' discipline coming next week http://t.co/v4oaGuAabK
The NFL informed the Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns at this week's owners meetings of "severe" discipline that is expected to be announced next week, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Crickets on the Pats?
From what I heard, I don't consider either team receiving "severe" discipline. Maybe if the Falcons lost a 1st rounder, that would be "severe." A 5th rounder is not.

The Jets have decided to move their TC to their own training facility this year and won't be going to Cortland. I didn't realize it before but 21/32 teams stay home for TC. Would you rather the Bills keep going to SJF or just stay at the facility?
How many times have the Bills been in the playoffs since being at St. John Fisher? Maybe it's time to shake things up!!
-
We can't play them at home week 1 because they are already scheduled to kick off the season on TNF at Foxboro. We could open with them at home week 2 if we are on the road week 1 though.
Ah, missed that. Then I'll take the Jets @ home Week 1.
-
Patriots @ home Week 1. Let's get it on!!!
-
They are putting too much power in the hands of the kickers. Now we have a kick off specialist because we need touch backs. What's next? Using a 1st round pick on a franchise kicker? Football isn't about kickers. Let the games be settled by the real players on the field
It's been done actually. The Raiders drafted Janikowski first overall years back. I agree with you. Too many kickers. I would actually get rid of kicking/punting all together. Make a TD worth 7 points. No field goals. You have to go for it on 4th down. If you don't convert, it gets turned over right there.
-
Don't get me wrong, I love the Charles Clay signing. But, what this team really needs, is a quarterback, and EJ, Cassel, Tyrod, and Tuel just won't cut it. Now I know we can't get like an Andrew Luck for him, but what about like, Andy Dalton or Jay Cutler. Maybe the Redskins will give us Cutler?
He might also be worth a top 10 pick, to get Marriota or WINston.
What a Troll. Can we get this guy banned???
-
I thought it was interesting that he said they were not specifically going after Harvin, but jumped on the opportunity when he became available. He also tends to think that Percy is a really good locker room guy - saying that in the four weeks he was there that the team gave him the second most votes for some sort of award.
Rex clearly likes the ownership and basically said if they were allowed to spend like the Yankees, then they would
They basically are. It's just this damn cap thing. And even if they did have all the money in the world, there still wasn't a franchise QB they could get this season.

What are the chances this latest power struggle over Clay help renew the old Bills-Dolphins rivalry?
Throw in the Incognito scenario, the fact he pretty much got kicked off their team for being a bully, now he is here and I am sure he will have a few choice words for them. With Incognito and Suh on the field at the same time, something is bound to happen.
I really miss the old rivalry, it's just not what it used to be.
Best case scenario is they both start beating up NE and battle it out for the East themselves, could be two monster defenses!
it's time for the Pats to take a step back. ( well, one can only hope)
Strongly agree. It's waaaaay overdue to renew the Bills/dolphins and Bills/pats rivalries. We split with both last season. Hopefully we repeat that this season.

I believe the Colts have also "Lucked" into this approach.
Suck for Luck!!! oh wait that should have been our 2011 campaign... Too bad we started out strong that year...
-
I agree - this guy should be on the team. He was the heart of that defense last year and the biggest reason for the improvement against the run.
Couldn't have said it any better myself. Re-sign Spikes NOW!!
-
It looks like he will become a FA: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/03/17/philip-rivers-wont-sign-a-new-contract-before-his-current-one-expires/
I sure hope not. He's old now and we need a young stud in that position to be relevant. I don't see any value in Rivers other than maybe a season or 2 and would command big dollars when you gotta sign Dareus.
-
Matt Cassel is a band-aid on a gaping wound. This team's #1 need is a franchise QB. EJ Manuel has shown that he is exactly the player he was at Florida State.
Of course it is, but it's the same for about 20 other teams..
-
@Rand_Getlin: Source: QB Thad Lewis has signed a one-year deal with the #Browns.
Awesome. Hope he works out for them...
-
This sucks. Always been a big Chandler fan. I get it. But I'm not happy about it.
They need to re-sign him now it looks like. I heard reports Miami isn't letting him go.
-
I know that it's very early in free agency, but some of the enthusiasm seems to have faded.
So far, we're maybe breaking even when comparing last year's team to this years; specifically,
- Cassell for Orton - maybe a slight plus
McCoy for Kiko - maybe a slight plus - I don't buy the argument that our defense was great last year without him... it's still an elite young talent going out the door - one which would've made our defense even better
Incognito for Searcy - wash
Kept Hughes - we're supposed to keep our own good players - wash
adding Felton - I suppose a plus
If we address TE (Clay) and upgrade guard and add a good linebacker, we could probably say we're better than last year from and overall talent perspective. However, none of these have happened yet.
Right now, about the same as last year, with no first rounder...
You're supposed to build through the draft...

Can the Bills win 11+ games without a great OL?

I agree. I hope our OC is a magician and players on the Offense play out of their minds. That's the only way I see this team being better than that.
