Jags cut the Tuel man
Shocking!
-
Bad move. Very disappointed. Just goes to show you, they really don't have a finger on the talent level THEY believe they have. Freddy showed up against Pittsburgh and made his case. Not sure what game the coaches were watching...
-
Hope the Bills continue to develop this kid, regardless of whether he wins the starting job. He is improving with the new coaching staff.

I would keep him. He's not a big cap hit.

Let's see where the fanbase stands after that.
I am conflicted.
Throw a dart...
-
Yeah, let the advertisers know you're listening. That'll force change.
Change of what?
-
It's Bleacher Report, so take it with a grain of salt, but:
I agree if it's true...
-
do you ever hear a GM say they are a dime a dozen?
It's not a position of great importance anymore. It's now a passing league. Only 9 have been taken in the first round over that last 6 seasons, and to directly answer your question, no I haven't. I also haven't heard them say that about any position to be honest with you...
-
per WGR sources, discussions have begun at One Bills Drive...
he deserves a 2nd shot, why not?
I keep hearing RBs are a dime a dozen. I don't think we need another washed up RB on this team. Sorry, but I pass on RR.

The year we're positioned to return to the playoffs and we're losing a player a day! This is getting rediculus
" return to the playoffs" LOL High expectations much?
I think it will be pure luck if they get a wild card spot...
-
I'm not sure we'll win all the ones I have listed. For example, I think we'll be favored at home against the giants, but if our secondary struggles that day it could definitely be a loss.
As far as finding a couple more, I'm counting on a week 1 win against the Colts and a week 3 win against the Dolphins, but don't think we'll go into those games as favorites.
I'll be surprised if somehow we win any of the first 3 games. That's a daunting task for any good team.

I actually thought (and still think) that Marrone is a pretty good football coach (but bad person). He was organized and his team hit. They were prepared.
I think that his power hungry mentality will ultimately undermine Bradley. DM is there to try to take his job. He isn't a team player. He is a taskmaster whose act will get tired pretty quickly.
I agree with your assessment. You totally hit the nail on the head with DM.

The NFL needs to increase the 53 man roster
I think there are too many players as it is. But due to injuries, I could see it increasing to 60.
I think the NFL needs more conditioning and less practice/preseason games so there aren't so many injuries before the start of Week 1.

Dear Lord..... I seen the same post last year about Jeff Tuel.... Just say'en... The guy played 1qtr! Lets all relax, breath, and let it all play out, not one single QB on our roster is going to be the next Manning, Wilson, Vick, Brady , Rodgers, or anything close to those.. Hopefully 1 of them can just manage the game and make some plays here and there.. Everyone thought Tuel was the next franchise QB last year after 1qtr of preseason games..
Agreed. This is what I thought about all the Tuel hype.

At this point I would have a concern about letting EJ go. I could see the Pats picking him up to pick his brain for week 2. It would be just another classless move by a classless organization.
Good. Guaranteed win in that case!!!
-
EJ will be signed by someone the second he is cut. Some team will take a flier on him.
I'm sure he will. Then he will be out of the league in a year or so after they give up on him and he's 3rd on some other team competing for a job in 2017.
-
I'm confident that he will prove the naysayers wrong!! I don't think Whaley and Co. are that dumb to just release him at this point. They have to see from tape that he is gradually improving. He will be on team in 2016 and starting.
I'm confident it would be pure luck for him to be on the 2015 roster. He hasn't taken advantage of his opportunities as of yet. Time is running out fast on EJ!!

#Bills Manuel to AP: "If I play well, it should take care of itself. Whether it's here or whether it's somewhere else, I don't know,"
http://twitter.com/john_wawrow/status/633386233322962944
"If" is a big word EJ. You control your own destiny and your destiny appears to be out of the league in about a year or so...
-
He was not good at all. The Pats will still be a formidable team, even if he's under center.
Exactly. It's Pre-season. Let's see if the same results occur in Week 1.
-
Yeah I have noticed it but I chalk it up to the Bills not having been a competative team in the past 15 years.
I expect to see a big change this year
CBF
I agree with you about the losing to a point.
I'm actually worried things could get worse since the expectations of this season are high. If the team starts out bad or it goes bad later in the season, I hope fans don't over endulge and cause altercations with opposing fans of the other teams or each other for that matter.
People need to hold themselves accountable. That is something that has gone by the way side. It's nice to go to a game and have some beers and all, but think. Think about the people around you and how you're going to get home...
-
The author's predictions just don't make sense. We'll beat the Colts and Pats** but lose at home to the Giants? He also calls KC's offense "high powered."
Nice effort but nothing more than another fan's opinion.
With all do respect, we did beat Green Bay and lose to Oakland last season. So...
I'm gonna predict 6-10, just to be safe.
It all depends on the QB play. We know already know having a great D makes little difference in the win/loss record.
I'm perfectly comfortable throwing out the prediction that if the Bills can get their QB(s) to play with a rating of 80 or better, this team finishes at least 12-4.
(Trent Dilfer posted a rating of 76.6 in 2000)
The 2000 NFL was a different era. In 2015, Dilfer wouldn't cut it!
-
I mean... They do have the best D line in the NFL though.
And that's gotten them to the playoffs how many years now???
-
This thread reeks of an EJ hater's last desperation of relevancy. Doesn't seem like there are lot of fans yukking it up with him.
BTW, Andy Dalton sucks. I'd rather have the unknown upside of a QB like EJ Manuel than the guy who consistently pees his pants when it's playoff time.
Your opinion is nice and all, but let's get to the playoffs for once in the modern era. Dalton > 2000-2015 Bills QBs
-
It's not about pride (at least not for me), it's about being asked to completely forget or ignore the good I saw on the field during 2013 and early last year. If EJ doesn't show anything in preseason I'll give up the ghost.
With all do respect, I've never seen pre-season as a determining factor for keeping or cutting a players. Usually it's always what they show in training camp. Either they can play or can't. That's the NFL we live in today. Maybe 10-20 years ago that wasn't the case, but that's just the way I see it.
Bottom line: If EJ's doing the same crap, I don't expect him to be here when the real bullets start to fly.
-
thorough article with some insightful, statistical breakdowns, thanks yolo.
i still believe in ej - and i think if there's anyone who can get it out of him, its roman.
really hoping ej follows through on his post-benching promise to "let it rip."
I believe I'm getting a headache from this. Enough already!!! Prove it in practice,Prove it in the weight room, prove it in the film room, prove in the huddle and Prove it on the field already!!!
