Food Network fan calling people soft?
Jk sounds lame.
not a food network fan, just a good food fan, and guy is the bomb.

Chan was interviewed by NFL network after senior bowl practice and Mayock asked him if the light has come on for Maybin and said he still waiting and that he needs to learn to play the run and has only one pass rush move and that is speed. Don't know why after two years a guy can't work on his game and figure out what he needs to do to get better. Last chance for Maybe.

Draftek gave spiller as a C+ for his rookie season.
Spiller finished the season with 74 rushes for 283 yds, 3.8 avg, 5 fumbles, 1 TD, and a zillion missed blocks. Kick return is a better story. C.J. averaged 23 yards per return, exceeding the 1000-yd mark and returning one for a touchdown. Gailey has said that Spiller must improve on his pass-blocking skills to see more playing time. Right now, he's an expensive special teamer behind Fred Jackson.
couldn't agree more.

There's an entire generation of young folks, like myself, that is defined by the fact that we lost all those Superbowls, even though we would have been just a bit too young to appreciate them. I can't say that I don't wish we won one of them, but personally, I don't know that my pride in my WNY heritage would be as strong as it would be if we had won one. As far as developing into a fan since the early nineties (my first memories not only as a Bills fan, but also as a human), I feel like it's been more worth it to be pulling for a first SB victory than it'd have been to be rooting for a seventh SB victory. And do you know what? I would not have it any other way, because I love every up and down with my family, my region, and my fanbase. Since high school I have moved away from WNY, but every single day of my life I wonder how feasible it would be to move back. I find myself clinging to that WNY heritage more and more as each day away from it comes and goes.
My question is: How much would be different if we had won one of those Superbowls? Would we find less necessity to have regional pride? Perhaps, as Bills fans, we cannot know or understand the answer. However, I observe that Steelers fans are just as relentless even after winning twice in the past five seasons. I can only speculate that after we win just ONE, I wouldn't care nearly as much about winning subsequent titles. Packers fans, meanwhile, are seeking solace in the fact that they FINALLY get to another Superbowl after thirteen LOOOONNGGGG years. Well, maybe they need to count their blessings after winning one just fourteen years ago. If the Bills had won one that recently, I don't think I could find reason to complain; however, is that just relative to the fact that we, as Bills fans, have not known what it feels like to win one? I think it's just interesting to think about our motives relative to other great fanbases (including PIT and GB), based on relative success in our recent teams' histories. And, to relate back to the original point of the thread, the identity of Bills fans of my generation would be WAAAYYY different had SN made that one field goal twenty shirt years ago. Agree or disagree?
Agree but trust me you would want more, maybe if we had just won the last few the desire wouldn't be as intense but after a few years you would be just as hungry.

Watching Diners, Drive ins, and Dives and Guy is doing tailgaiting in Oakland and this chef is out there making Chinese rice noodle salad, which has got to be the wimpiest thing going and some fan is like this is perfect for a raiders game. Then they roll out the vegetarian gravy and they are like this is awesome. Man you would take a beat down out here bringing in some nancy a$$ $#!t like that.

Does he make it to our 3rd round pick or no chance......
Maybe, but rather have Kaepernick who is doing real well in practice at the senior bowl.

After reading that it is hard to blame Modrak for draft failures since he never had final say. Who knows maybe he wanted the guys that us fans wanted but was short circuited by GMs, Brandon (What was Ralph thinking) and Dickie J who supposedly wanted Maybin. Nix has made great picks in the past so he must feel Modrak is scouting well. Hopefully Nix realizes that you take the best available person at the position you need and will leave the WRs alone, which we have more than enough of. That first pick had better be front 7, OT or QB ,any other pick will show that he is out of touch in todays NFL were you don't have 5+ years to get the job done. Spiller picks are for superbowl contenders not teams that were/are desperate for Tackle help.

The more exposure I get of Chan Gailey with respect to his ability to coach QBs and strategize offensively, The more impressed i get with him as a coach. Does that mean i am certain he will guide the team to a world championship because of his abilities? Probably not, but it won't be due to his abilities as a coach. You can only do so much with the talent given, and unless this team gets really good and really deep in a lot of areas, it's not going to happen any time soon. But I do believe the team has a great head coach in him, and would love to see him here long enough to accomplish the quest of a title. I was one who wanted Shanny, didn't really think Bill Cowher was the answer, but had to clue Chan was even an option, and was very unsure of the hire. At best he seemed like a stop-gap for the next 3 years until we underwent another rebuilding. He really seems to know the game well, and I truly respect his opinion of upcoming college players. I never had that type of confidence in any other Bills head coach, and that's saying something, I have been around a while now, and seen quite a few of them.
I would even go so far to say that if he were a coach on the Jests squad, there is no doubt Mark Sanchez would be much better than he is today. This is one case where the Bills went off the radar and got someone not many teams were considering, and actually scored. Now that the front office has added a well respected coach in Dave Wannstedt, it's time for Buddy Nix to infuse this team with talent and make WNY forget all about 1-5(SB Record) Bill Polian. Yes I love the guy, and yes his teams win a ton of games, which I would not be unhappy about, but he's gone, never to return, so it's now time to quit whining about it, and move on. It's funny how other teams can do it without Bill Polian as GM.
But to summarize, this team may be sitting on one of the next great head coaches in Bills history, and deliver what WNY has always pined for. Now if our crotchety owner would just go ahead and Will the team to Jim Kelly, Buffalo would be all set and able to dream long term again.
Buddy - Daft well, keep the talent rolling in, and spend Ralph's money, he has plenty.
Ralph - sell the team to Jim Kelly, I am sure he'll keep you on as an executive, and give you the best luxury box in the stadium, plus all the Mighty Taco you can eat for life, and maybe a new tennis racket.
Jim - Get your ass in gear and pile up the investors now.
NY State government - Give WNY a break, you're bleeding it dry, I want to move back home already!
Go Bills.
Good luck with that moving back thing.

I was on the road listening to Sirius NFL radio yesterday when Jim Miller (who I have a lot of respect for in evaluating NFL QB's) broke down the QB's. I was driving so I'm recapping what I heard, but the overall message is the same.
Christian Ponder-FL. ST.
Arm thrower, doesn't open his hips on throws to the left, won't survive in the NFL. we'll be injury prone and won't get enough zip on the ball.
Stanzi- Iowa
Not enough arm strength, especially given his huge upper body, doesn't convert it into powerful throws. Said he shouldn't be there over the Wisconsin QB.
Kaepernick-Neveda
spoke very highly of his accuracy, arm strength and mobility. Said his college numbers are Drew Brees like with 10,000 passing and 5,000 rushing. Did mention the difference between WAC and SEC style conferences. However, that is what the senior bowl is about to has those differences out. really liked his size at 6'4"
Locker-Washington
Said he is the most intriguing of all the prospects due to size, strength mobility. Said he feels he is Mark Sanchez, like, raw, but with skills. Probably could use a year in a system to develop.
Dalton-TCU
thought very highly of him with this leadership, accuracy and mobility. Said he had the best feet and pocket presence of all the QB's. Thought his arm strength needs a little improvement by wasn't far off NFL caliber.
Advantage Kaepernick, these guys are going to move all over the rankings so I would take him with any pick but first.
-
Quinn was my pick in the begging of the season and would be happy to have him but Dareus is my pick now, Brooks Reed or Sam Acho would be great OLBs latter. Glad to see that someone isn't ga-ga for bowers I think he will be a bust.
-
Bell is not a bruiser like a proto-type RT. His best feature is his agility, but he is not strong enough. He doesn't provide a lot of push on the run. He is agile enough to handle speed rushers, but gets thrown around a bit too much.
Offensive Tackle is a glaring weakness on this team, but OTs don't sell tickets, so this position is neglected year after year.
No love for love
, rather take Clint Boling.
I want either 1 of the 3 big tackles from the North team. I think all3 can play the right better than the left right off the bat. Or Marcus Gilbert from Florida in the later rounds, or James Carpenter from Alabama.
We will grab a tackle in this draft. Hopefully its in the earlier rounds. Think Wang is a wasted pick.
I like buddys comment on qbs, that we will draft on this year. Think itll be Dalton.
Kaepernick would be better, Danny Watkins is very tough and could play RT and is ranked with Gilbert and Carpenter.

Simulated Here!. I'd do it. It's a no-brainer! Incidentally, Dareus fell to us anyway:
1-Marcell Dareus DT/DE
2-Martez Wilson SILB Illinois
2-Justin Houston OLB34 Georgia
3-Luke Stocker TE Tennessee
4-Sione Fua DT34 Stanford
4-Josh Bynes ILB Auburn
5-Orlando Franklin OT Miami (FL)
6-Chris L. Rucker CB Michigan State
7-Alex Linnenkohl OC Oregon State
Cha-ching take that in a heart beat, although not a big Fua fan, would go ILB Chris white and NT Kendrick Ellis in the fourth.

Mark Gaughn quoted Buddy as saying we are definitely drafting for 3-4 defense, we need another QB and "gotta get bigger at linebacker". He says you can't keep changing defensive schemes every year, so they are sticking with the 3-4 (thank god). Says we ended up playing "225-230 pound" linebackers by the end of the season and "gotta get bigger there." Whether it's through free agency or the draft or just counting on merriman, it shows that he knows how the team needs to improve. As far as QB is concerned, says they have been going research on Newton and "have two more months" to answer all the questions about him.
Than God, Chans comments about playing multiple fronts had me nervous so its good to see that Nix is committed to 34 guys. Probably smoke screen on Newton, he knows that Cam isn't for us just doesn't want to tip his hand.
-
No real franchise QBs in this draft. The DTs would be ends for us except Bowers who we should avoid at all costs. Dareus is the real deal and would a huge upgrade on our line.
Our Dream line looks like this:
DE Kyle Williams
NT Paul Soliai (FA)
DE Marcell Dareus
-
no help for Maybin no matter what, but Wood would be a probowler and he will a probowler for us next year.
You are right on both points, but we just need to draft better and have stability in the whole org.
-
4.2 40...who does he think he is? don beebe?
wild idea...fairley falls to us at 3...someone between 10-15 offers us a 2011 1st and 2nd along with a 2012 1st for him...do you take it?
Hell yeah, some one else can have Haynesworth, er Fairly. Dareus at 3 but trade back for Cameron Jordon, Robert Quinn, JJ Watt, Von Miller, Castonzo, Carimi, Heyward etc the middle of the first round is bursting with talent and is probably just as good as the top ten.
-
yeah - good thing our newly signed crackerjack defensive expert is getting such first hand input.
the same kind of input that Chan couldn't live without so he treated the entire 2010 season as a first hand observation period - since he couldn't rely on film and tape for a proper evaluation.
The News said they wanted him to stay back and get up to speed on our defense and player evaluation.
-
Williams should be on there they are just bias !!
not biased, he was fourth in probowl votes so out of 32 teams only 3 were thought to be better.
-
Marcell Dareus, Robert Quinn, Ryan Kerrigan.
Plus Gabe carimi, Stephen Paea, Cam Heyward,Anthony Castonzo, Kyle Rudolph, Stefen Wisniewski, JJ Watt, Patrick Peterson ,A.J. Green, Martez Wilson, Tyler Sash, Colin McCarthy
, Bruce Carter, Mark Herzlich, Phil Taylor, and Andrew Luck

In watching the south practice today, Mike Mayock was going on and on about Andy Dalton. There were some facts that caught me as surprised, that were said by imo the best media talent evaluator in the business. His int td ratio was something like 40 to 4 or something like that. He went 30 and 1 in his last collegiate games and most importantly he was the mvp in the last 4 bowl games he played in.
Those are a lot of the intangibles that Buddy said he liked in a qb. I always remembered those factors because he said thats how he said the Chargers knew Phillip Rivers was the qb they wanted. Hes a winner and hes the most important football player on the field, wherever he is. Lets see how he does the rest of the week.
Looked pretty rough today hope he improves, looked good durring the season could be a mid rounder.
-
I know everyone wants to "fix the tackles"....and I agree.
But I keep thinking how effusive Chan was in his praise of Chad Rhinehardt's play the last couple of weeks, and just be aware he may see that as a solution.
Again, I agree we need to draft OT, but given the fact there are none available at the very top of the draft, we might be looking at this OL next year:
LT - an improved and healthier Bell
LG - Levitre
C - Wood
RG - Urbik (played very well before he got hurt)
RT - Rhinehardt
Essentially I think our OL is already on the roster, and between recovering from injuries (Bell, Urbik), improving in a new position (Wood) and a latecomer who played well (Rhinehardt), it may already be a lot better OL than we saw last year.
Don't forget Pears , Chan really liked his play and he did start for Denver for a few years.
Like your name but you need an avatar, maybe this;
tied posting pic but it wouldn't paste.

lot of good things out there:
Good,
Phil Taylor 340 DT very lean, bull rushed his opponent all day not else though but as a nose would be just fine.
Brooks Reed OLB watched a few games and looked great in one and ok in the other, was tearring it up on the pashrush, blew past Sherrod and love every time, reminds me of Zach Thomas and Bryce Paup put together, high motor guy and can make plays too could be poor mans Clay Matthews.
Sam Acho may be more of a gamer, sometimes looked good sometimes got stoned, might need more practice time.
Danny Watkins OG very tough stoned his guy on every play
Clint Bolling RT Workman type guy but didn't get beat might be an early round option.
Bad,
Derrick Sherrod LT don't see all the hype for this guy was getting schooled all day then on last one on one he basically through an arm out there due to frustration and our Coach Joe D' head dropped and said something like are you ready now.
Demarcus Love OT pretty much same as above but a little better.
Christian Ponder QB brainiac but no skills and was inaccurate.
Andy Dalton QB was hopefull but didn't impress, missed some throws but was ok may look better in the game.
-
I think Stocker at third round would be a great pick. I think this guy is a real find. Last UT guy I said that about was Jason Whitten, and he turned out pretty good.
the guy can play, next great tightend, hopefully the braintrust will pull the trigger.
