Get a grip, you need to see a doctor. You're just looking for reasons to be sad. AND you show that you don't understand how the NFL works. Number 1 draft picks ALWAYS go to bad teams --and they always make tons of money. Buffalo may be small market, but in the NFL it's relative. Small market team with a decade long losing streak and they're still worth more than .5 Billion $. Is Detroit, a better place to be than Buffalo? Watch the news! Oakland? Cleveland? Small rust-belt cities across the country are struggling economically and athletically. there are guys who will feel blessed to play pro football anywhere anytime and there are guys who have been worshipped for their athletic success since they were toddlers and aren't good teammates wherever they land. If Luck is the guy people think he is -- he'll be happy to be in Buffalo and make us a better team -- and maybe help you step away from the edge.

Getting really tired of this Pats* cheater stuff.
Sabre Bill replied to Jim in Anchorage's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No, No and No. If you watch sports with your kids and teach them that winning is important, that's great! If you teach them that winning "by any means necessary" is the most important thing, than you've done a disservice to yourself, your kids and everyone around you. No conspiracy theories, no conjecture. They got caught cheating. Like baseballers on steroids, like USC, etc. Cheaters damage the game and like it or not the game is a large part of our cultural inheritance. If you don't like talking about the cheater stuff, why did you bring it up? No one brings up the cheater stuff anymore just to bring it up. But that doesn't mean it needs to be forgotten. By remembering, we help (in a very small way) fight against future cheating. "Winning isn't the most important thing, but the will to win is." -
+1, +1 b stein stepped in it, then cleaned it off. Been there, done that. Time to move on and (hopefully) never mention a certain QB's name again.. . .

[please fix subject]Ya...I Said It

College game of the year for anyone who's a Bills fan! I like a couple of other guys, as well, but a good showing for Mallet against the Tide puts him waaaay out in front of next year's draft board! BTW, not only should we stop talking about Edwards, but anyone daring to bring up JPL any more should be sent back in time to relive those days! -

What's you're point? You're smarter than some of the rest of us? You enjoy other people's pain? Feel the need to tell us the last car in the race is the slow one? Why don't you go back to the drawing board and try again. Leave out the childish insults and try sharing some football thoughts. You're wrong about not scoring more points with FItz. We'll definitely go down field more often (though not sure how successfully), which will help open the running game and give the OLine a chance to breathe -- fighting off 5 instead of 8 on every play.

Serious question - What if the Bills leave town?

Reggie Bush to be stripped of Heisman

Don't really disagree with this action, but the NCAA is SO hypocritical, it's hard to value any choices they make. . . -
Is anyone else not fully buying into Gailey?
Sabre Bill replied to billsfan89's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I shoulda. I coulda. I didn't. :wallbash: I walked blissfully right into the troll's den . . . -
Simmons is like GBeck, but with a MUCH smaller audience. You can like him or hate him, but to give him any credence as an expert on any topic is putting undue pressure on the guy. He's entertainment and that's all. Sometimes you'll agree, sometimes you'll disagree, sometimes you'll laugh, sometimes you'll see a grander truth behind his ravings, sometimes you'll think he's an idiot - or just plain crazy . . . Believe what you believe, but don't stress over BS! See what I did there? ;) nudge, nudge

One (or both) of of you guys work for ESPN? Appreciate the effort, but who's got it right? People are hammering Levi's character. Does he deserve the hit? Or, maybe he's just a frustrated college kid who can't find a job. +1, CG (and his staff) must be working 24 hours a day to try and improve this team. Letting Brohm fill the role of "3rd string" and "PS QB" not only increases BB's touches (and hopefully growth), but also saves a roster spot (or PS, depending on how you look at it). Never run an NFL practice, but I think your clipboard carrier would be eager to get additional chances.

Just lazy "reporting" and lazy thinking. Good. If the 'Phin players come here with that kind of attitude, it''ll be even easier to beat them. I don't imagine it will be easy, but I see a 24 - 17 victory. Our guys are (team is) better than anyone (pundits and lazy sports reporters) expects. Are you ready for some football?!?!?

Bills Starters to get 12-14 snaps tonight
Sabre Bill replied to tbonestake's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
That's a pretty high standard for our D to live up to, but I like the way you're thinking!! Go Bills! -
Would you rather go 7-9 or 1-14?
Sabre Bill replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wasn't trying to minimize football, but more complex than chess? No. Late game possessions are no more valuable than early game possessions. Get the ball, get the lead, and late game possessions mean less. If you're not better than the other guys, you don't win. Late game possessions seem more important to nerve-wracked fans who want to see their team win. If the pros aren't valuing each possession as if it's their last, they'll lose. Fans are constantly on the back of players who "take plays off", the idea that late game possessions are more important seems to condone the team taking whole series off. The chess thing is moot. There aren't too many people experienced enough at both to get a thoughtful comparison. I definitely disagree about the possession thing. -

Football isn't chess. Sometimes we make it more complicated than it needs to be. Take a win, always. Take the ball, always. Root for ALL the Bills, always. Celebrate the New Year on September 1, always. Football, the best season of the year, always. -
Leinart and Shefter, both. . . . No, thanks

Can we continue to rely on misdirection?
Sabre Bill replied to Superb Owl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
All you HAVE to do is have more points at the end of the 60 minutes. Play to your strengths. Ninjas don't use sledgehammers - no one calls them sissies. Almost every play is a misdirection on some level -- play action, counters, traps, draws, etc., etc. The trick is to keep them FROM guessing! -
yes -- at least until we've seen a game or two

Did Bruce DeHaven Retire in Buffalo?
Sabre Bill replied to fbzh2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why start a relatively (by TBD thread standards) rational conversation with a thread title that's obnoxious and ITG? Can't imagine you saying that to BD's face. I can't argue with your ST concerns or others' comments that it might be premature, but there might be some historical basis - both for BD and for this crop of Bills. Just, hate the thread title. -
