  1. We don't need guys with a long track record of winning to play now while we groom the QB of the future. We need to draft a tackling dummy with the first pick so we can throw him to the wolves and then complain when he doesn't magically play like a pro bowler from his back. Besides, when was the last time a 40 yr old QB did anything memorable?

  2. right, like Matt Jones. but Matt Jones is doing coke in parked cars and has NEVER been productive.

Lynch has had a much better career and his "crimes" are much less severe.

ill be glad to link you to the many posts from the whole "robbery framing" that showed exactly how small-minded a lot of posters can be. Not ALL posters mind you. ill admit that there are plenty of posters that want him gone that would want anyone in his situation gone. but there are also a large number that slam the gavel at the first word of a problem, without knowing the entire story, or even caring to know based on how he looks.

the rampant racism in Buffalo (and it's there) isnt "hate based" like it is in the south. it's based in fear of the unfamiliar.

but i digress, didnt mean to hijack the thread...

You're political and social commentary wreaks of simple minded cliche regurgitation. All you're really saying is you have a chip on your shoulder and you see racism in everything you look at. You should stick to what you're good at, whatever that may be.

  3. His 3 yr career average is 4.0 yrds a carry how is that dick per carry.

Fair enough, he doesn't suck, but he isn't great by any means. That's about the league average, and Fred Jackson has averaged 4.5 over that same span, and w/o the baggage.

Plus Lynch is one wrong move away from a long suspension. I just don't think we're giving up that much, especially if we can get something in return.

  4. How is it Lynch always averages dick per carry and everyone touts him as a great back? Fred Jackson has outperformed him since day 1 and Lynch is a punk. We'd be lucky to get something for him now before he goes the way of Travis Henry.

  5. Many of you on here have said you want him. I have no idea what he would bring, but seeing what Gailey did with Kordell I think he could do the same with Troy. He has a strong arm, I'm just not sure what else he can do in the NFL. Anyone have an opinion on us using a 5th for him?

Kordell Stewart was the worst Quarterback to ever play 10+ seasons. The guy lost his job to Tommy Maddox.

  6. If we have a stacked offensive line, solid running game, and Randy Moss, Culpepper could be great. Otherwise he's another backup, which we clearly don't need. Statistically he's been about equal to Trent Edwards when he hasn't had Randy Moss to throw to, and he's a little old to expect much in the way of development.

  7. C'mon guys. We need a REAL LT. This patchwork BS, stick the best guy we've got in there, doesnt work. That is clear. I think with a Rd 1 or Rd 2 pick there is no choice but to select a LT. They blew it with Oher last year. If they had made that pick we wouldnt be worrying about this crap. Or if they took Orakpo think how much better off we'd be. You need to address the glaring needs. And that is OL and DL, has been for 10 years. I'd love a QB and LB too, but this game is won and lost up front. Unless they get a shot a Claussen or Bradford, they go LINE, LINE, LINE with the first 3 picks.

    +1

I hope the front office is on the same page.

  8. I think none of us are going to know what the offensive line will look like until after the draft. Because right now, it is still a mess.

The way I would assume, it would be LT is a Draftee/FA, Wood and Levitre are guards, hanggartner is center, and RT is butler. Then incognito (if re-signed) would play back up along with meridith.

But the way people here have talked Levitre played pretty well at LT (i didn't see the last two games, so I am not too sure). So if that happens, we have Levitre at LT, Wood at guard and hangartner at center. As for the other guard position, I would put butler back in there (he played pretty well as a guard) and the RT could be a draftee. And that would be nice, because RT seems to be easier to fill than an LT position.

That all depends on where they place levitre, if wood is healthy, and whatever else happens with who the draft/sign. One thing I am pretty sure about is hangartner is staying at center. I know a lot of people think Wood is going to start center. But I think hangartner was signed specifically for the center position, has done well, he has more experience, and he worked pretty hard for the team overall (played through injuries and didn't miss a game). To me, he is an asset to this team even though he isn't a great player. He is good enough and is reliable. I wouldn't move him.

Hangartner is to the defense what Poz is to the offense. A smart player who brings a lot to the direction of the players around him, but whose physical strength makes him a liability as he gets pushed around too much by stronger players.

  9. I am going to say some of them are going to be tied. Like...

    1) NT/QB

    2) LT

    3)OLB

NT is the most important part of the 3-4 offense. If we don't get at least an average player there, that defense will be crap. QB seems to be just as important as a need.

We need a LT before a QB b/c no matter who you get to play under center, he can't pass on his back.
