Drafting Spiller would be great if we can still get a quality LT and NT ready to start opening day. And even that still leaves us a little light at OT. I'm not expecting much from Cornhole Green.
-
already had spinal surgery and has never played more than 12 games in a season....no thanks
We should go with one of our many other options.
-
People who tweet Donte like that are cowards if you ask me. Internet tough guys. I bet if they met him in person they would be puppy dogs asking for autographs.
Don't make me kick your ass

This could be the dumbest thread in the history of the board.
Dude got 9 int in roughly half a season due to dumb luck?
F*cking retarded.

I don't get why different is always better with some people...
The Bills didn't suck because they didn't have a QB, they sucked because they lacked a OC with experience, they lacked a head coach who knew how to build an offense, they lacked a proper game plan, they lacked a decent offensive system, and above all they lacked a decent O line.
The O-line was particularly horrid... with each player having very little experience and so many injuries, it was an out and out nightmare for the Bills QB's all season. The ONLY player on the O line that was there for every game was the center.
There isn't a QB / man on this earth that would have had a successful season in the offense the Bills put on the field last season, that is the reason Ralph Wilson blew up the team!
Donovan McNabb might have been good a few years ago when he could scramble, not anymore. He has had a recent history of injuries behind an O line 1000% better then anything the Bills have fielded, along with better coaching, players, game plan, system.
If the Bills pull the trigger on McNabb and give up any draft picks it will be about the worst move in team history IMO
Excellent post.
Not only has McNabb battled injuries the last few years, he's ALWAYS struggled under pressure.

Wallace was a Holmgren pick in Seattle. He might be planning on developing into his franchise guy, just like he did w/ Hasslebeck when he pulled him from GB.
-
We got Wood with the pick we got for Peters. If he recovers it wasn't a total loss.
-
Don't know much about Cam Thomas, but just from what I've read I get, perhaps unfairly, a feeling that he could be a bigger McCargo. Maybe it's just the NC connection.

Nobody cares what your political views are.
There's about a 97% chance you're just a bag of hot air, regurgitating whatever ideology you signed on for, long before you had enough info to make a remotely informed decision.
Chances are you think you have some enlightenment or that you are more "informed" than everyone else and the world needs the benefit of your insight.
You're wrong. You have nothing original to say and even if you did, no one cares. If they did they'd be on a political site right now. People follow sports often to get away from the political BS.
Do everyone a favor and die.

If Pittsburgh lets him go that means they think he's guilty, and I can't get too excited about cheering for a rapist.
-
If he could be had for a low $ figure and will accept a limited role he might be worth looking into for depth and someone other than Evans w/ real NFL experience.
If he wants big money and/or guaranteed playing time I wouldn't bother. Otherwise we might as well have kept TO
-
They invited him to Buffalo, probably team paid for, to see if he'd be willing to play for them. It's not Kennedy's fault that he's 30 and doesn't want to go through a lengthy rebuild, which is what the Bills are now.
And he's perfectly entitled to that. I still wouldn't want a guy who'd rather ride the bench and bask in someone else's glory than get a chance to start.
-
Agreed, you have to draft need even if they aren't confident in the player's ability. Never take the best player available.
????? I assume this is sarcasm.
I'd prefer an LT but if Clausen or one of the big 2 DTs falls to 9 I wouldn't object to either AS LONG AS, we aggressively pursue solidifying the T position in the 2nd (and 3rd too for all I care.)
You'd like to address need, but you never want to pass up a perrenial pro bowler b/c you need a safety and some guy named Whitner's available.
-
Who wants a guy who'd rather ride the bench on a winner than get a chance to start on a rebuild? Guy sounds like a candy ass to me.
A superbowl ring doesn't mean that much when you're only contribution was fetching water for the guys on the field.

Again, I agree that neither Kelsay nor Schobel would by my answer at OLB, but they seem to be what Nix plans on using. I would much rather have a rookie made for the spot than converted DE's.
All I'm saying is, I can't imagine them not starting with the money we've committed to paying them.
If i'm in charge, they are both gone, and hopefully for picks. Then I would pry trade back and get McClain and a DT with my first 2 picks, then OT's.
Schobel said if he's coming back it's in Buffalo, and I don't care if he's been playing DE for the last decade and change, dude can get after the QB. And with as many holes as we have it would be nice to have him for another season.
He's the only consistent pass rusher we have.
-
After playing countless Madden Franchises as the Bills over many years, I feel like "we" comes as naturally to me as being VP did to Al Gore.
-
I don't agree w/ the mediocrity crap. IF Schobel stays the only problem I see would be injuries. I know it's popular to just say everything sucks and whine and B word like a goddam puss, but we had a good defense last year and a few tweaks could make it even better.
-
You son, I know how racial you are so you can f*ck off...
1st mention of race in the thread.
-
The bottom line is that this year's crop of qb's is very very weak. We might want to take a flyer on one in the third or fourth round, but considering that the top of the pile would be very late first round or even second round picks most years, looking to find a savior in this group is not a wise move.
Stop making sense. You're infringing upon my happy thoughts.
-
Don't worry about a line, draft a QB. Do whatever it takes to get whatever rookie we hope won't be a bust. He won't need a line. Defensive ends and linebackers will bounce off of him.
He won't get the mental scars that guys like David Carr get from playing behind non-existent lines as rookies, because we don't want him to. Because we decided that good QBs don't need a line.
And if logic doesn't work, we can always rely on trite aphorisms to fix the problems.
P.S. For all the Aaron Rogers posters, Rogers had one of the best tandems of receivers in the league, took a ton of sacks, and his team didn't start dominating until the line started to come together.
And even in the beginning their line was better than ours.
-
If it was keep just football I wouldnt have a problem its just when it gets takin to that next level when its a problem. Thats when it seems to get racial and its not football anymore...
You're the first person who brought up race on this board. Then you throw a temper tantrum. Grow up.

Davis was pretty solid for the Broncos last year. He had 90 tackles and 3.5 sacks. He played in the 3-4 too. He could be a great pickup to start or for depth. Warren is a big boy we could use at the nose. Not sure how good he is though.
If Warren came cheap he could be a good situational player for passing downs, but he doesn't offer much in run support, which is our biggest weakness.
-
really? a dime a dozen... tell that to Washington, Buffalo, Detroit, Cleveland, San Diego, Indianapolis, NYG, Philly, Seattle, Chicago, KC and a dozen other teams last year. nice try though.
How did Buffalo get on this list? When the thug couldn't get it done a guy they pulled out of NFL Europe and barely decided to pay even chump change to came through big.
And he makes less than they're paying Cornhole Green!

if Vick were found guilty of or had a history of suspected abuse of women would he be more welcomed here then?
...i know this has been presented before but i still don't get it. even so, hasn't he been punished for his transgression? i find it hard to believe that if he never had this conviction (and abused dogs) that ANYONE would object to his being here considering the current QB situation. especially with the track record Gailey has with Vick's "style" of QB play. if i missed the explanation i apologize, i guess it went over my head. could someone explain it one more time?
seems to me there are a lot of "POS" people playing in the NFL (as there are in life, period), but then again what do i know.
Many people don't want Vick b/c he's one dimensional. He'll win you some games, but DCs have learned how to slow that attack. Sit on the run and make him pass and he's going to fall short more often than not.
Plus you have to plan your whole offense around the QB run option. When he left Atl they had to gut the whole offense. (Luckily for them they got a solid QB in the following draft)
As far as Gailey's track record w/ Vick's "style", I'm not sure what that's based on.
With the 9th pick .... Dan Williams

This won't work. We'd be starting with as bad or WORSE an O-line than we had last year.
If we move Levitre to LT who takes over at G?
And replacing Butler w/ Cornhole Green is a down grade.
Not to mention Wood may not be 100% to start.
The offense needs a lot more help than the D does anyway. 2 O-linement should be taken in the first 4 rounds.
