  1. Last year the Bills solidified the interior w/ Wood and Levitre.

This year, take 2 OTs early.

You would go into the decade w/ 4 young studs up front who can gel and play together.

Then you can feel free to draft "skill" position players til your hearts content and watch the fireworks for the next 10 years.

    Whatdya Think?

  2. That was my central question...I thought I'd hear a bunch of replies like, "We need a LT at 9 or else I will quit being a Bills fan!" But I am hearing that maybe filling as many holes on D then take care of LT and QB second is not as preposterous as first thought.

It's still as preposterous. Unless the board on draft day is skewed such that there is MUCH higher value in taking a defensive player first, to do so would be foolish.

We've got a lot of talent on defense (regardless of what the whiners say) but we have arguably the worst O-line in the NFL.

  3. !@#$ me, are we seriously stilll talking about this worthless POS? Give it up already.

I would love for you to give a scenario that fits into your view of what should be done, and please don't say something retarded like "get a franchise QB" w/o explaining who and how.

  4. We need a stat that shows the amount of attempts made between 15-25 yards (IN THE AIR). THis is where Trent struggles. He has not Ba**s to throw it down the middle of the field. He doesn't anticipate WRs coming open. Trent throws 3 basic passes......The dump off, the 5-7 yard check to a TE or WR, and a deep ball. HE HAS NO INTERMEDIATE GAME which is where the real QBs feast on defenses.

One of the more intelligent TE assessments I've heard. Much better than the mindless mouth breathers who just say Edwards sucks b/c Jim Kelly said.

I would also add that he has trouble sensing the pass rush. Maybe part of the gun shy thing.

....could be from Dicky J and his high school offense. I don't underestimate that. I think the offense he was in would have given better QBs than Trent some trouble. No creativity makes it a lot easier for the defense and tough on the QB.

As far as I am concerned, I am giving every QB on this team a blank slate.

Another good point. Going back to his time in Chicago no QB has ever done well under Jauron. Losman was doing well before we implemented the Dick Jauron Offensive School of Suck. Remember when Lee Evans still went deep, and the reactionary blogger dipshits didn't decide he sucked too. I think I'm seeing a pattern here.

  5. With Tebows improvement at his Pro Day he may have proved himself to be a 1st round pick. If buddy and chan want tebow dont be surprised if he goes at the #9 spot. Jax picks at #10 so trading down might not be a safe be. I for one am warming up to tebow his work ethic and "want to" is something to be applauded.

I've been warm to him, but not #9 warm. Take a blue chip, not a roll of the dice.

  6. Would be a good pickup. Hassleback (for 1 or 2 years) + #1 Draft pick (Clausen?) + Fitzpatrick/Brohm as #3. Trade Edwards for a case of beer.

If you take Hasselebeck you do better to build your line this year and draft your franchise QB next year. New guy still gets a year to sit, and it gives you a yr to see if Brohm has anything. This time two yrs ago he was the Clausen.

  7. Yes, I would definitely do that--basically, the Colts are giving us their #1 draft choice for Kyle Williams.

Bill Polian would do this? Only if his brain has fallen out of his head.

Another "let's get rid of one our best players" thread. Bye Lynch, so long Williams, adios Whitner, see ya Peters... We don't need these guys?

They probably wouldn't give their 1st, but if we could get their 2nd it might be a good move.

As to the getting rid of our best players bit, the orig poster rightly qualified the statement that Williams is good, but may not really have a position in this defense.

  8. I think he IS the problem. Single or double teamed, he backpedals more than the dbs. I think he's done and Del Rio knew exactly what he was doing in getting a 3rd and a 5th for him. Yet another example of trading for an aging vet not working out.

He played really well his first year. So much so he got a new contract.

He's not ideal, but he's the best we've had at DT since Pat Williams jumped ship.
