Yes and yes. We give up long sustained drives and explosive plays. C Johnson not only had an 83 yard run, he had several over 20 yards, including one at the end of the game! Our pass rush has been underwhelming, yet we're going to "live or die by the front four" as Wanny recently said. Our corners outside of Gilmore are crying "why me?". Our LBs can't maintain gap assignments and Barnett said he'll continue to be aggressive. Byrd gets sucked in on run plays instead of keeping his depth as the FS on the play, and George Wilson looks like a statue out there. And Shep spends 99% of the time on the sideline, so maybe he doesn't know football either. The cliche is that offenses take what the defense gives them. Well, our defense gives them whatever they want.

I have no problem with what Sullivan writes. This latest article seems dead on. It's his job to analyze all the facets of the locker room. Nobody can fault him for the product on the field. If all his articles seem negative, it's deservedly so. (Which wasn't the case at the beginning of the year.) What have the Bills given us to cheer about during the last 12 years!

I feel like rooting for the Idaho Potatoes in this one (had to change the name as it still pains me to cheer on a Texas team), which probably will doom them and they'll lose. I think they're a SB contender, and have always liked Wade. His failure here was he didn't stand up to management ( well one of his failures) ... (and I hope you all remember that when complaining about an absentee owner - that's a good thing ... Frickin Rob Johnson ick still makes me sick) until he was asked to fire one of his coaches. All that being said, their varying style of defense will confuse Harvard, and JJ Watt will eat his lunch (maybe even pick off one of those screen passes and take it to the house). Arian Foster and Matt Schaub will carve up the defense, and no adjustments will be made to stop them. I prefer to be a realist, this team is not good enough to hang with them.

I agree. It's made it harder for coaches to try and BS us. Although Gailey still insists MW is being chipped, double teamed, and trple teamed every play. (not trying to start an argument here, there are enough threads about it)

But listen, if we’re trying to protect the lead in the fourth quarter and you’re throwing the ball when our backs are averaging 7 yards a clip and it costs us another game or sends us into unnecessary overtimes where our guys have the chance of getting hurt… I’m going to have to let you go at the end of the season. And I’ve paid for too much talent to have a defense perform this way. Everybody knows what we’re doing. I know Dave is your friend and mentor, but YOU are MY head coach. I didn’t hire one for each side of the ball. The responsibility is ultimately yours. You can’t just have the offense, it don’t work like that. You tell him to blitz. You tell him to disguise coverages. Let Merriman stand up if it works for him. Get the safeties and LBs to stop freezing in their tracks and get off blocks. And you tell that defensive line to show up on Sundays. Their job is to win one-on-ones and they are NOT doing it. I don’t want to be here having this conversation, but we got 9 games left and I think we can turn it around (not me saying this but Buddy). Being in Big 12 country, I'd say his accuracy could be a huge problem in the pros. DBs would be chomping at the bit. If he can rein it in thought, he has a lot of other good qualities.

I think something in Niagara Falls would work better. It's close to casinos, Clifton Hill, etc. But I'm not even in WNY anymore so I probably don't get a vote...
