  1. Green Bay 55 Bills 3

Cornell Green replaced at half due to being responsible for Trents concussion.

    Spiller 10 carries 11 yards.

Kelsay looks even worse covering the TE and RB for the Pack.

Seondary gets 2 picks deep inside enemy terriory but Offense goes backwards-result 3 points.

Offense gains 49 yard first half, 50 in the second to be the first team in modern era to gain under 100 yards total offense-Gaileys a guru!

    0-2 on way to 1-15

GB is not that good. Rodgers said himself he still stinks. We have a good defense that will keep getting better. I think you will see a big improvement in our offense. I don't like our chances of winning but I don't think it will be a blow out either. I say it will be 24-14 GB.

Rogers stinkng is better that Trents best day! I watched Rogers and although he missed a few throws and was picked, he looks to be playing a different game than Trent.

  2. He cannot stay healthy causing other LB's to not get reps in practice. I say cut him now and cut our losses. He's not worth keeping to get 1 game per year out of him. He's been on IR more games than played and only average when in their. I've loved Penn State LB's since Shane Conlan but this guy is no Shane Conlan and can't stay on the field.

  3. Jesus. Colt Brennan? Let Trent have a full year where he only has to worry about playing and learning a new offensive scheme, and not worrying about losing his job. Yesterday was not entirely his fault. He was running for his life the whole game. They couldn't run the ball. And the OL looked terrible! It is week 1 of what is going to be a very long year. So just look at the positives (defense and special teams) and hope that the offense gets it turned around.

Sure lets give Trent ANOTHER year. How many excuses can one man give another man? Trent sucks, we all know it but some won't accept it. You're like a jilted lover who wont let go after being dumped and told your not wanted anymore. Give it up, he stinks and will never amount to anything Finally the pieces are in place for 1-15 season and a chance to pick Jake Lockler and have a real QB.

  4.

Thank you, Coach. At least there's one person thinking along the same lines I am.

I keep telling everyone to wait at least 4 games. We'll have a better idea then about what this team can do.

Yes after we go 0-4 we have a accurate picture of how lucky we'll be to win 1 game.

  5. I would put Poz on the outside. He looked like he's bulked up and might be able to handle being on the point of attack. No worse than Kelsay anyway. Then play Ellison on the inside. He played well there Sunday and also looked bulked up.

Poz may be done for the year.

  6. #9 was a luxury we couldn't afford. When will this front office wake up and realize we need ot's to make anything happen on offense? 2 years in a row we go into the season with the worst set of OT's in the NFL, crappy QB and wonder why we can't score, that's a recipe for disaster. Not impressed with Buddy Nix at all. He did nothing to improve the worst aspect of our team-QB and OT.

  7. You sound like the same Bills apologist I've heard for 10 years. If you find a peanut in a turd is that a positive? If your wife only cheated on you once is that progress? If you lost only leg in the accident should you be happy? If we go 1-15 will you say it cold've been worse?

This team has been putrid for 10 years but you will continue to say look at the bright side of thiings. I'll look when there's something to see, until then we are a laughingstock, a joke, misfits, horrible, whatever you want to call it.

When the team has stunk for 10 straight years w/o relief its maddening to hear from people like you who want to paiint a pretty picture with your rose colored glasses. Call a spade a spade...we SUCK!

  8. Not really. The only thing I could find fault in is calling to many designed screen passes when we all knew they were not working. Jauron never called screen passes to that extent in a single game.

Galey has a totally different offensive philosophy. We seen a lot of dual back sets, shotgun and motion which Jauron never used. For this offense to succeed Galey has to understand that we have to throw the ball down field when the running game is not working. IMO Galey is a an improvement over Jauron.

Gailey set up out of shotgun something like 40 times! This was terrible play calling. He should have used prosets and run the football to set up play action. Our best assett is our Rb's and our Oline is decent at runblocking but yet we rarely ran the ball. How can you defend Gailey for putting the ball in Trents hand 3/4 of the plays? This offense looked putrid, same as Jaurons, Gailey was outcoached and outschemed by the Fins. The D played good enough to win, Gailey let this team down.

  9. Hate to say it but...I TOLD YOU SO!

The BILLS suck and did nothing this offseason to improve. Out OTackles are the worst in football and our QB is even worse. For all those pointing to the preseason to predict 8-8 or the playoffs, for all of you who called me names for being negative about the team, for all of those who crucified me when I said the decision not to improve our tackles would "kill the Bills again"...I TOLD YOU SO!

Our Ot's got beat consistently like a red headed step child, Trent threw 3 INT's for TD's but were dropped, and how was that #9 luxury pick?

Instead of drafting and spending in free agency to improve our tackles, we took a RB who has nowhere to run, wow who could have predicted that? I did.

I said to all the Spiller lovers that he was a wasted pick because he cannot block for himself. Guess what? He averaged 0 YPC.

How did Shanahan and McNabb look? They beat the Cowboys, all on Mcnabbs legs and arm and good defense, which we can play. So instead of Mcnabb and Shanahan we get Chan and Captain checkdown, any surprize we will go winless? I predicted 5 wins, but after watching the Bills on Sunday I have to adjust that down to maybe 1. Watching most of the games I don't see a sure win on our schedule. As a 30 year fan who has endured pure hell for 10 years, I really don't know how much more I can take of this organization.

  10. If Brady got hurt aginst another team then sour grapes. If we intentionally went for his legs and took him out I would be ashamed of our team. The character of our team reflects the character of Buffalo, fair or not. I want to beat the Pats head up w/o taking cheap shots. I don't care if it takes 50 years, that's not part of football. We are better than that and so are the Bills. I never want to have a reputation as a dirty team. I'd rather lose a game than lose my dignity.

  11. moats impressed me. he was fighting on most plays. very agressive. he only got beat on like 2 plays vs rbs. which is totally normal.

i think moats has IT. maybin is like a ragdoll that gets punked all the time. he tries but usually never breaks through. havent given up on him yet, hopefully his technique improves this year.

I think your right. Moats has IT and will be a star in this league. I watched him play alot at JMU and he was a total beast. As soon as he learns his new position and gets some experience he will be a starter and possibly probowler in a few years.

  12. I was curious to know what he took. Was it steroids? If it is known that he was taking a masking agent then I'm unaware. If it was an over the counter GNC type supplement I believe it would speak volumes on where his maturity level is. I do remember Bruce getting popped for cocaine and he ended up doing ok. My original post was really defending the posters comment that he would like to know what he took. He then seemed to get attacked. It is a legitimate question IMO.

If he was taking roids he was cheating. I remember a few posters, a couple years back, mentioning the Patriots were taking HGH. People wanted to know. I just think there are bigger jerks trolling and posting argumentative crap that are better targets to attack.

Thanks for defending my right to ask a simple question. Some people take every opportunity to atack fellow fans for wanting more information. C'mon people!

  13. Nelson himself said in an interview that it wasn't anything illegal. You can believe him or not. I choose to believe him. Why do you feel the need to investigate this further? Of all the things to be dwelling on with the Dolphins coming up Sunday. Go away.

I talk X's and O's at length and will be leaving for Buffalo Friday after work for the game. I bring it up because it got buried under alot of other topics, many of which I posted and I wanted to know if others had more info. So before you tell a 30+ year fan to "go away", smack yourself in the face a few times and save me the trouble. I still laugh when people like you post the rudest crap while you hide behind your computer. I never start any smack talk on a fan message board as its petty and juvenille, but I darn sure will defend myself. Next time I post a topic do us both a favor and skip it. I enjoy reading opposing opinions and being educated by other fans who know more than me on any topic, but rude comments in response to a question are over the decency line.

  14. I know OL and QB have gotten a lot of attention this off season as weak spots, mainly because they were horrid last season and we didn't address them in the draft. But what about the pass rush? This preseason we basically had none when it was 1st v 1sts

IMO we dont have the talent to go out and create pressure. Kelsay/Maybin/Ellis/Torbor sure aren't scaring anyone. Dwan Edwards seemed to be our best pass rusher this preseason which is not a good sign. Now I was thinking about it and I think the 34 scheme will help, as we can use the scheme to create pressure and not have to rely solely on our players beating their players like last season.

But at the same time when we go to the nickle in passing situations we go back to a 4 man front, and we are back to relying on Maybin/Ellis to beat LTs etc. I think that this is really our Achilles heal. With our secondary, we should be shutting down teams, but with no pass rush their talent is neutralized somewhat because they cant cover for 8 seconds. Hopefully we can figure out a way to dial up the pressure.

After the preseason and seeing Trent and the O improve the pass rush is whats worrying me most, Luckily Long is out so we can beat the Phish

I agree the pass rush was nonexistent during the preseason but I hope I know the reason. We did not use our blitz packages that will be unvailed during the regular season starting on Sunday. The Fins will see our blitzes for the first time and hopefully be shocked and give us a few each half. This new defese has saved its best for when the games count. If after the first game or two we still have no pass rush then I too will be worried.

  15. Wow, this is the identical crap from this time the past 10 years. Each new season springs eternal optimism only to be crushed by the reality that our team sucks. 11-5 ? Are you serious? You guys who throw out those type of numbers crack me up. I give you credit for being optimistic but an F for realistic. Until this team proves something, has a winning season and is no longer the cellar dwellar we've grown accustomed to 11-5 is baloney.

5-11 with a ^ arrow for next year is what you'll need to eat this year. That's alot better than the crap sandwich I munched on during the tenure of that big fat Dicky J's reign. I actually hated that man. have a very good feeling and like what i've seen from Chan the Man, but he can only do so mmuch with the talent he has. He'll make the most out of it and win 5.

  16. 8-8 would be a great year. But this summer I predicted 5-11 and I'm sticking to it.If we have any OLine injuries or lose a TE we wont move the ball enough to win 8. 8 wins is a best case scenario and we have no depth on the oline/LB/QB to score enough points to keep up with our porous defense. Teams like Pitt, Vikes, Jets, Fins, will run it down our throats. Even the average teams will score on us at will. It will take the defense 8 games to figure things out and we'll be lucky to go 2-6 the first 8.

Even with my 5-11 prediction I think this team is finally headed places. We go to the playoffs next year, AFC title game the next and win the Superbowl in 3 years-not all doom and gloom from me.

  17. Any handicapper or serious Bills fan knows Trent struggled vs any 3-4 defense. IMO that should be the biggest improvement this year for the Off, simply that they will be prepared to face a 3-4. Word on the street was that the scout team D rarely ran the 3-4, and didn't start doing it until fewell took over as head coach IIRC. This little change alone should account for a couple of extra wins this season. I predict 8 wins. If our D plays as dominantly as they can, maybe a 9 win season. As Trent goes, the team goes. In Gailey I trust.

For what its worth, last time Edwards played Miami last October, he was sacked 6 times, and threw 3 picks, talk about not being able to pick apart the defense.

Doubt it. I think ifthe offense improvs its due to 3 hings:

    1 Better coaching

    2 Healthy O-Line

    3 CJ Spiller

  18. Okay as much as I want the Bills to win the Superbowl, I don't think this is the year. Here are some things I would like to see happen.

    - A record of 2-14 earning the numbers one pick in the draft, and with both wins being over the Patriots.

    - Injuring Tom Brady.

    - Electrifying touchdown runs from C.J. Spiller.

    - The young guards establishing themselves as a top interior line.

    - Enough from Bell to allow him to be a starter (hopefully at right tackle) going forward.

    - Sean Nelson contributing to the offense.

    - Byrd producing enough to show he was not a flash in the pan.

    - McKelvin making some sort of quality contribution to the defense.

    - McKelvin avoiding any further penis lawns.

    - An unexpected linebacker playing well. Moats!

    - Someone besides Lee Evans getting some production at WR.

    - Lynch or Jackson traded to a team that suffers an early RB injury in exchange for a draft pick.

    - Chan's offense looking more dynamic that Jauron's abomination.

It's okay if the Bills lose a lot, there are still lots of positive things to build an actual foundation on that can happen! :)

You lost me after the first 2. I NEVER want the Bills to lose and I NEVER wish for any player to get injured. Grow up!

  19. The year before Gailey arrived in Dallas, the Cowboys were 6-10. In Gailey's first year in Dallas, the Cowboys went 10-6 and had a wild card berth. If Gailey can do the same here in Buffalo, does he he serious consideration for Coach Of the Year?

Can't compare those Dallas teams lead by Aikmen to us. They had studs across both lines (although aged), great D and a still productve Emmit and additional weapons, and they had already won 2 Superbowls.

But your ? as to COY-It depends on what other teams do. If Swartz takes the Lions to the Superbowl, or if Cable takes the Raiders to the big dance then Chan would have to do better, he'd have to win it. In my heart he would be coach of the decade if he goes 10-6, but that alone won't win the award if another cellar dwellar does better.

  20. I get the none of your business stuff but cmon. We heard all about the Williams' case of starcaps, Cushing for roids, Lynch for being a thug. I've liked Shawn Nelson as a player and was hoping for a big year. If he got popped for roids and has to get off the crap he may never be any good. If he accidently inhaled second hand smoke because he got too close to Marshwans car I get it. It would just be nice to know what kind of person is on our team. Is he a good guy who likes his weed, a roider, a crack head, or just a guy trying to get an edge by taking everything off the GNC shelf? In the end I hope he gets back and is productive this year. Like to see him fly down the seam and score the winning TD against the Pats.

I didn't know if you had any more info on what it was exactly, but it DOES matter to me at least.

  21. I asked Chris Brown of Inside the Bills about Shawn Nelsons suspension. He told me it was most likely due to a GNC supplement that had a banned substance. He said alot of rookies make similar mistakes, no big deal. I had to disagree with him and said that if it were that simple, why not say so instead of leaving the fans to wonder if he's a drug addict or just stupid for not reading labels. If alot of rookies make those mistakes then why not more suspensions? He then chastized me and said I shouldn't "throw stones" because I don't know all the facts. Well then why doesn't OBD provide some answers?

So my questions to you guys are:

What was the substance Shawn Nelson was suspended for?

If it was so innocent why the information blackout and secrecy?

Is Chris Brown just a master propoganda puppet for the Bills?

  22. If the Bills start out fast you will have countless millions jumping on the bandwagon, both local and national media. Noboday in the media wants to look like a fool and few have the gusts to go out on a limb and this is the result. Buffalo is easy for them to rank 31, a fast start will change their tunes. I heard Mark Gaughan on sirrius nfl network on saturday saying the Bills MIGHT win 4-5 games. He had very little nice things to say about anything except spiller. I hope we make him eat his words!
