  1. Every week in every season guys make this same wild claim, yet when pressed to explain how on Earth such a scheme could work, they offer nothing---other than "I don't who is doing it or how it works, but it must be true".

I can be persuaded fellas--give it better try than that.

All I'd say is... it's possible. And it's happened on this level of competition before.

  2. You know, PTR probably came off a little strong in the original post, but even reading it today, I don't think he was wrong. Wrong for how he said it - maybe - but he's right.

We were clearly much more talented and a better team before the injuries than anyone gave us credit for before the season. Hell - Vegas knew it before our local media knew it. That KC line moved 5.5 points in 36 hours. There were a few - Prisco, Peter King IIRC - who came to camp and said "Hey - you better watch out for these guys. There's something there." So maybe, it's not that jw, Tim Graham, Sully, etc are not doing anything all day - it's just that they're not football guys. Or at least on the same level as others.

Now, I don't think saying "I told you so" now makes near as much sense in the moment as PTR's main point did... because - like it or not - we've got double digits on IR and we've played two playoff contenders within a TD the last two weeks. Has it been ugly? Sure. But I think we've exceeded expectations from before the season already.

JW's in a tough spot because he IMO seems to be a pretty objective guy most of the time. So he gets stuck between the half-full guys like PTR and then when spirits get up, the half-empty guys like billsfreak probably don't agree with what he says.

Who's right? Who knows. Probably some truth on both sides. I'm sure it's the same with PTR and JW.

  3. IMO, Fitzpatrick is at his worst, and least accurate, when he really puts a little oomph on the ball. Early this year, everything was timing patterns and he could throw at a reasonable "pace" for him. His completion percentage was fantastic, little to no INTs, etc.

Without a deep threat, teams can jam the Bills receivers all they want, and since we're running with a really mediocre WR core, once they do get off the line there's very little separation, and Fitz has four DL in his face by that point, so he's got to "force" the ball, and that's when he has problems.

If I was the front office, I'd get a couple burners who can keep the defense honest. Then I'd let the o-line get healthy. Fitz is fine when he can dictate his throws and timing on his own terms. Once you get a guy or two who can stretch the field - and get off the line - you can't cover all the underneath stuff all the time.

  4. no kidding, it's a joke really. maybe the worst 4th quarter i've seen offensively and defensively in years. and the homer crowd is SERIOUSLY pumping their chest and saying "i told you so"? are you serious? it's as if gailey's gameplan was "let the eagles win" and the players almost executed it to perfection. it's an absolute shock we won that game. sure i'm excited we're 4-1, but i barely take this team seriously.

buffalobills.com has a great message board. You should head over there.

  5. I have season tickets in the first row of the upper deck so I don't have to have some idiot standing up in from of me when nobody else is standing. Standing is fine when there is reason to stand, but many people will stand just to be jerks and because they want the satisfaction of knowing that they have annoyed somebody. The stadium is filled with inconsiderate morons. If nobody else is standing, sit down. If somebody politely asks you to sit down and nobody is standing in front of you, sit down. Be considerate of others. Standing the whole game is not a badge of courage or something. Stand when the action of the game demands it, otherwise sit down and let everyone around you enjoy the game.

This should be posted in the front of every stadium, track, and field in the country.

  6. Good Stuff BIll

Sounds like everyone is meeting around 8am.

Address is 700 West Pete Rose Way, Cincinnati, Ohio. Longworth Hall

    Let's take over the stadium.

    Go Bills!

    Wolf,

DO they do single file parking as well? NO spot saving?

No, I think you can save spots within reason. There were just a lot of us coming solo last year so we all met up for convenience. And IIRC, the place didn't really start to fill up until after 9:30ish.
