  1. I went last month with my son. Neat place. The menu didn't float my son's boat so we didn't eat there. The menu was awesome, though.

  2. Who's job doesn't comsume them 24/7/365? I am not being a smart azz... But seriously? Do they sleep regularly? Are their circadian rhythm thrown off because they actually HAVE to work 24/7/365? Do they get shift work disorder just thinking about work? Maybe Christmas morning when they should be opening presents w/their children? How about in the middle of a long summer break?

Sorry... I don't understand because I actually work 24/7/365 on four week rotation of days one week, then afternoons, then midnights, then back to days. Again, not being a smart azz, but that dog don't hunt. Way overpaid (@ 92K) and it is bleeding parts of our society dry. And you know my viewpoints.

I think some teachers are overpaid, but that holds true with any profession.

I think $92K is a heck of a lot of money to be a teacher. However, they have to have Master's Degrees now. And a good teacher will be in the school 10 hours/day and many are there later doing clubs, activities, sports, etc. Not to mention, bringing work home.

Again ... all teachers are not equal. There are some who are likely there 15 minutes before class starts and gone 15 minutes after class ends.

The flaws are not with the teachers. The flaws are with unions and tenure.

I am certain you, Exiled, have a far more physically demanding job, as well as a job that is just more draining, in general (with the shift work and exposure to the elements). Perhaps you're underpaid. But that doesn't mean teachers - as a whole - are overpaid.

    Just my 92,000,000 cents.

  3. I agree and I hate that phrase.

If you want to break it down mathematically if say it's 1/5 of the game. Offense is 2/5ths, Defense is 2/5th and special teams is 1/5.

It's 1/3 of every team; it's 1/3 of every game. No, special teams play does not account for 20 min./game, but I don't think that's what anyone means when they say it's 1/3 of them game.

It's like in basketball ... foul shooting is 1/3 of the game (along with offense and defense). That's not to say that foul shots make up 1/3 of the points scored in a basketball game.

  4. From my perspective, the fact that Marrone retained Crossman is an extremely disappointing decision. Crossman has a career of sucktitude and he proved that this past year and considering that they are buds with one another makes it even less bearable to withstand. For me, that's strike one.

To that point ... as someone said earlier (and I can't disagree) ... strike one was actually hiring the pile of crap. Strike two is retaining him after seeing what he brought to the table over 16 games. The more I stew over this, it doesn't piss me off as much as it worries me.

  5. My point is quite simply that ST themselves didn't cost the Bills any game. They were in position to win the Cleveland game after the two big returns, and they were behind NE the entire game--never stopped the run at all.

I just don't accept the notion that ST gave the opponent any game. There were so many ways those games could've gone differently, to simply pin those losses on ST, as was done in the post to which I replied, is mistaken IMO.

As for better ST winning one of those three games--I'd say Cleveland is a possibility...I really don't see the other two happening on ST alone.

Here's a point that I hadn't thought about and also agree with...thanks for bringing these thoughts into the discussion.

I will opine that it is equally as important what ST does to help you win, as it is what ST does to cause you to lose.

Allowing returns like the ones Blount had may not have made us lose ... but it sure as hell didn't enhance our chances of winning. Giving Brady a half a field is nearly equal to putting 6 on the board for them. Granted .. the D sucked (all year ... not just in the NE game), but I think an upgrade at ST will only help this team.

  6. No actually, I believe its as relevant as ever... Sorry it offends your delicate sensibilities.

Well you must know some pretty crappy teachers if they work 180 days a year, 35 hours a week. Or live in a crappy school district.

I'm not offended, either, so don't bother with the false apology. I simply have a hard time ignoring blatantly stupid comments. Not that I'm calling your comment blatantly stupid.

  7. My favorite Jane's Addiction song is "Then She Did." Perry Farrell's girlfriend, Xiola Blue, died of a heroin overdose. He wrote this song about her. In the song, he asks her to say hello to his mother, who committed suicide when Perry was a child.

It's a powerful song ... and it's purely magical to see them perform it live.

This is them performing it exactly one week before I saw them for the first of seven times.

  8. This is a stupid discussion. Marrone needs to succeed in roughly three years if he wants to have a head coaching career in the NFL. Yet he hired--and apparently will not fire-- a special teams coach after one year who apparently will doom the team and, a fortiori, Marrone's coaching career. Is it not possible that Marrone thinks Crossman is a good coach and did not have enough tools to work with yet so he deserves the time to develop the ST into a solid unit? Is the point here that there was ample talent to field a good special team unit, but Crossman messed it up? How does anyone here know that. What proof do you have other than your own opinion?

I think Marrone believes continuity is important is developing a team-- including special teams. Seems sound to me. The fact that Crossman was not fired after one year does not mean he is not being held accountable, it means Marrone feels he has not had enough time yet to develop a quality ST unit. Simple.

And don't point out Crossman's history at Detroit or Carolina. Maybe you all feel he should not have been hired in the first place, but Marrone disagreed and one year is typically not enough time to quit on someone trying to build something. If Marrone thought Crossman was a fail, he'd fire him now to save himself, not keep him around and have his "old friend" screw up his career-- that don't make walkin' around sense. Marrone might be wrong, but people have no quality information to judge the situation, and Marrone does.

The Danny Snyder quick fix mentality on this board is amazing. People always want heads to roll to make themselves feel better.

Thank you, Mrs. Marrone, but we're still not happy with your son's decision.
