  1. i dream of two trade downs and possibly picking up 3 2nd rounders and an extra 3rd thus giving us a first rounder, 3 2nds and two 3rds. if we draft smart like we did with wood, levitre and byrd we could end up with 3 more players of that caliber. i would also trade one of those 2nds for another first rounder in the 2013 draft. this is what the pats would do.

I dream of getting Cam Newton - makes everyone in front better (see Ben Rothlesberger, Vick...)

  2. Here is why JS sucks - he has no underlying logic to where he delivers his columns from. You cannot write - exactly one week ago - that winning the Cleveland game is actually bad and meaningless, then today write that winning the Miami game is good and meaningful.

Compare his writing to say - the late Jim Kelley - and one can see the difference more eloquently.

He blows like thw wind and that is why he is still is pissy column writer for the 60th largest paper in the country.

Others like Kelley - moved up and on. If the News went belly up - who in the world would pick him up?

  3. I beleive Bills99999 tried to start a thread - but it got somewhat hijacked:

Seriously - Why does CN not get more consideration for us? To be honest - I could care less about his laptop and his dad - as in I was just in Pittsburgh and people seemed to have forgot about BR being an arse.

Anyway - CN COULD be one of the most game changing QB's in a long time. A bigger stronger Vick. I think he actually led or was near the top of FBS in passing accuracy (seems hard to say he is inaccurate or can't read defences)- against the SEC South - the toughest conference - he led comebacks, routs, he went un-freaking-defeated.

He will make a bad offensive line look great.

Take away the off the field stuff - seriously - how could one not seriously consider him?

  4. Whelp - I have been thinking about what I believe the original poster tried, rather clumsily, to say. There is no doubt that there is a very real chance that CN can be a bigger faster more durable Michael Vick - and IF that is the case whoever gets him is going to be a force no matter what. He can make up for injured OLines and create offense that AL can't. CN MIGHT be the best QB in decades.

I really don't care about his laptop, his dad either. Who cares, do the people in Pittsburgh care as BR grits his way through wins?

I think the gorilla is the CONCEPT of drafting CN.

I think he is very near he top in passing accurancy in the toughest conference with the toughest schedule in college. He lead his team from ahead and behind against top rated teams all year - and I think if it weren't for the brushes with the law - he would be the concensus #1 pick.

One has to seriously contemplate drafting him if avaiable.

  5. I disagree ... Sully is right with this one. The Bills have been so bad for so long that we have become numb to it. I believe Gailey is a much better coach than Jauron and he gives me hope. However, the Bills have been terrible at drafting and Nix's first one was not stellar. While not likely I hope the Bills run the table the next three games. If they do then we will have much to look forward to next season.

Whelp - He is not talking about those topics...he is pretty much talking about how the Bills are now screwng it up by winning....apparently they can't do that correctly either.

One could couch it something like: "The Bills are winning...and while they may cost them the top pick in the draft...it is refreshing to see the team starting to come together"

But no...it just "They are so stupid they are actually winning games"

  6. I don't want NOTHING to do with Newton. NOTHING.

    EXCELLENT CHOICE!

Cam Newton will be taken in the first 3-4 picks in the draft, in my mind he is a bigger Michael Vick - he just got his scrape with the law done before jail time. I think it is great that the Bills probably have a shot at him. I don't care about off field stuff, Vick, Rothlesberger, don't care!

Mallett will also go in the first.

I think they are all great options, Luck, Mallett, Newton and the Bills should consider themselves lucky to be in such a position.

  7. This comment is so misused its not even funny...regardless if you are talking about Fitz or any other vet. If this was a rookie, he would still be learning the game and assumed he would only keep getting better. Fitz is not a rookie, and has FIRMLY established himself to have poor accuracty issues that plague him with no signs of that improving. There is a huge difference between a rookie learning how to play at this level and a Vet playing at about his cieling.

UMMMM...that is why I pointed out there would be two standards....if this was a rookie performance it would be a viewed as a sign of the second coming of (well third I guess with fergy and kelly) of #12....instead it's just an aberration in an otherwise mediocre career...

Fits may not be Brady but he is well in the upper half of Qb's in this league and seems to be improving ....no need to knock him

  8. just do some research and find one person who says he will not unequivocally be the #1 pick if he comes out.

secondly try watching the kid play,i have watched him a lot and the kid is fantastic is coached by a great coach a former NFL QB who has had him running a pro style offense for 2 years now and he looks great doing it.

throw in he has all the physical intangabiles and the smarts and is not from california but texas whats there not to like. for the last 2 years every scout and pundit has been saying that this is the year to get your QB,i believe them.

    what else do you want?

just ridiculous. all i can say is that you obviously have not watched him play because if you have then your comment makes you seem like a moron.

what there is not to like or to be sceptical about with this kid is beyond me.

    Well,

I guess am just plain ridiculous that I haven't carved out time on Saturday's to dial in Pac-10 games and scout QB"s that may or may not come out and may or may not come to a team that may or may not have a first pick. I do watch College FB - because it is so much more exciting than the NFL....but what i have found lacking is the National Hype for Luck to match the hope on WGR55 and this for some on this board. I think there is way more talk about CN than Luck.

I just asked the question - is the national press thinking the same as the locals - because I don't see it. FWIW Colin Cowheard "may or may not know something" and hinted that AL wouldn't come to Buffalo because harbaugh hates the bills.

He also said that AL is the best prospect in 15 years - so there is my answer.

  9. Guys, I have read so much on this board how AL - if drafted by the Bills - will fly into Toronto and walk across lake Ontario, swim up the Niagara, and jump the falls like a salmon returning to its birthplace to get to Buffalo in proof of his athletic and leadership prowess.

Actually I just read a poster who said that he is the "best QB to come out in ten years"...

Does anyone have links, quotes, etc by "people in the know" - and not the lapdog - that support this national view of him? I read about him and I get the feeling that the national press thinks of him as a solid pick - not even a concensus #1 yet - but certainly not the next coming of Elway....

I just get the feeling that the locals have lost their ever-loving minds on what they expect this guy to be - if he comes here.

  10. They the get the first pick in the 2011 NFL draft, which is highly possible.

Jim Harbaugh gets hired as the new Cowboys coach.

Andrew Luck declares for the draft and is taken by the Cowboys.

Cowboys trade Romo for a first round draft pick.

    Buffalo gets screwed again.

This is the thinking that scares me....so many people (and radio knuckleheads) have spent a year pinning the entire franhcise's future on Andrew Luck...I would think that the odds of AL ending up here are probably between 20-30 percent. Listen - I hope he comes here and is all people think he will be....but people are somewhat off kilter to thinks that there is only one chance for our Bills to survive....and that chance is AL!

  11. Well,

I guess my topic starter logic was this....for better or worse I was on the NYS Thruway listening to the game...then Dope and his Lapdog. Bulldog and the morning boys (well Jeremey - who now wants the Bills to tank games) seem to have strapped the blinders on....if we don't end up with Andrew Luck sometime next April you might as well pull the plug on life itself - and as well - a solid year of talking about A Luck on the radio will have gone to waste.

Well - I think their is a higher probability that the Bills won't have the #1 pick as Carolina and others seem to valid chances - and the Bills lose the SOS factor in any tie.

Shoot - if Mallett is a #2 and Bills get him in the Second round....that would be good. I watched a couple of Arkansas games and my limited scouting ability leaves me to believe he will be a solid player on Sundays.

If Mallett isn't the number two QB - who is?

Also - I did look at player rankings and Luck isn't even close to being rated the number one player in the draft.

  12. Here is why Polian was fired - the specific incident. There was a meeting with Ralph, his daughter, Polian and some others going over money matters. One of the topics was an injury settlement for Jamie Mueller - it was $300,000 for his neck injury. Ralph, et al, did not want to pay and Polian made the point that if the Bills contested it - they would have a tough time attracting FA's - that and Mueller was simply and correctly due the money. The conversation escalated to the point where BP uttered the "C" word in reference to Ralph's daughter - and at that point is was over for both sides. Ralph didn't want BP and BP didn't want to work for a place that would stiff its employees.

    History shows who was correct.

  13. Listen Guys,

Brett has his hand(s) full with some off the field stuff. This issue might get hotter and hotter till it just explodes. The lawyer guys will probably stop beating around the bush soon enough and rub this problem out...

  14. Well - my buddies who bet alot would agree - this game for the Jets falls under the "Win big against a big rival on Monday Night at home, then go on the road the following week against a lesser rival = unexpected loss"

See Ravens week 1 then 2

It would not surprise me at all if the Bills won.
