Except that in the United States, on the list of things most Americans are worried about, Global
Warming CoolingClimate Change is somewhere between potholes and saving the spotted owl...and the spotted owl is gaining speed. And given the number of high-profile reports that 'scientists' have been fudging numbers to make the situation look bad, perhaps suggesting that progressives and the MSM are the only ones concerned about this is not something you want to admit out loud.
Which is why everyone mocks the president for saying the Global
Warming CoolingClimate Change is the biggest threat to America. Is it possible to be any more out of touch than that?Wait. Wait.
“One of my core principles is that I will never engage in a politics in which I’m trying to divide people or make them less than me because they look different or have a different religion. That’s a core principle, that’s not something I would violate.”
I stand corrected. He CAN be more out of touch.
Well - get out of the country - other people in the world may want to leave their kids a better place and prioritize that - maybe Obama is in that boat - seems like conservative America feels the greatest threats to the Republic are same sex marriage, the assault on the Duggars, Obamacare, voter fraud, gun laws, welfare - when you say everyone - make sure you specify "everyone" is your circle of friends....
-
i don't understand why this is such a partisan issue. if it were really about the science, then one would expect that conservatives and liberals would be similarly divided on the issue (discounting the fact that so many conservatives are scientific illiterates). but they clearly are not. i wish someone could tell me why conservatives lean so strongly towards instinctively denying this. do they really like being controlled by unelected industtrialists with no concern for their well being or anyone elses? doesn't make any sense.
The US GOP/Conservative/Fox News etc... is the only place left in the world where people keep on keeping on...and most of the posters on PPP are the distillate....waste of time trying to understand....not to worry my kids generation seems to have a much better grasp on reality....

Oh WTF is this? Now we are at "the beginning" again?
Hey Assclown: We were "at the beginning", depending on which (*^*&%^$^#made the claim, in 1996, 1999, 2001, and 2006(AL Gore saying NYC's current shores will be covered in 3 feet of water, which is why I will be selling kayaks in Battery Park this time next year). It was "settled" that we were at "the beginning", and headed towards "the end" at least 10 F'ing years ago.
birdog: what in the Sam Hell is this? Don't you find it a little hilarious? I'll ask you the same thing I asked GreggyT. Is there a line that these clowns can cross for you, where you call BS on them? Does that line exist, or are you on board no matter how ridiculous this thing gets?
Apparently eternally being at "the beginning" is how they explain this *****:
Hey Baskin, I have a "puzzling"(
using that word is the cherry, isn't it?) question for you:
Why do we need yet another speculation about what is causing the "pause"
in Global Warming? I mean, since you've decided that all of us are "science" illiterate, why do the supposedly enlightened High Priests of Global Warming need to explain what is "settled"? If there is no 18 year pause, why are they offering an explanation for it?
Answer the question. You can look down your nose at whoever, that's fine, this is PPP...but...answer the F'ing question. There will be no peace for you here until you do.

I love how instead of "The Ocean", in general, it's now: "The Indian Ocean".
"Oh, yeah, well, see, now we've found the culprit, and we are being specific: It's the Indian Ocean! So of course we are right. The Pacific was being framed by the Indian Ocean all along. But now, we've got our man!"
Why does this story sound exactly like corrupt cops killing an innocent witness to their crimes, and then planting a "throw away" weapon on him, so that they can claim self defense? The Indian Ocean == the black kid witness, who was gonna be a doctor, dies in the B cop movie, with the environtologists playing the corrupt cops. Now, if only Stephen Seagal or Jean Claude Van Damme is available...we'd have ourselves a movie.
What did the Indian Ocean do to deserve such slander?
Since you asked me...Dude - you are clearly, clearly so bent out of shape there is no data, no nothing, is going to register with you - you are clearly convinced that it is all some conspiracy- and I mean all - the whole world....good luck with your life...it looks from here to be a miserable experience....

I regard most taxation as legalized pillaging. Every penny they steal should be fought. It's not the governments money or the communities it's mine I worked for it. It's basically immoral for them to feel they can access my property at will to distribute as they like. Anyway, a lot of taxes could probably be replaced by user fees. That way at least everything would be properly accounted for.
Damn...must be hard getting up in the morning being forced to contribute - everyday - to roads, schools, police, national defense, food safety, worker safety - things you use everyday without even thinking about it....the morality of it all...you know....being a citizen of a community and a country....
What makes your viewpoint different than your hated "moochers" ?.....seems you want all these services for nothing.....

Ok, but for the purpose of the question, play along for a moment.
1. Border security.
2. Tax cuts for corporations tied together with repatriating money from overseas by tax forgiveness.
3. Comprehensive immigration reform.
1. So you believe that the rate of illegal immigration is an issue even the it has gone down tremendously in the last 8 years?
2. Despite the fact the corporate tax contribution revenue - even though it is at historic lows as a percentage GDP - should be cut before personal tax rates?
3. Never going to happen with GDP
1) Pass a balanced budget Amendment
2) Secure the borders
3) End Affirmative Action
4) repeal Obamacare
5) abolish the IRS by passing a flat consumption tax.
1. Never going to happen - it can't happen.
2. See above
3. Already is dead
4. And replace with.....
5, You must be a very high earner - a flat tax will benefit the wealthy and make everyone else pay more....
These are the issues that you wake up in the morning and think about?

WTF is a "religious Republican American conservative?" Is it the opposite of an "atheist Democrat American liberal progressive?"
Does it not strike you as odd that that the new research on global
warmingcoolingclimate change is now reduced to identifying those who dare not believe the data?not when worldwide the only people in denial are RRAC's
doesn't that seem odd to you?
doesn't seem odd that the only people in the world who have scripted the climate discussion in terms of liberal/I guess not liberal - are RRAC's
most people just see it as science

I attended a medical school graduation where it started and ended with prayer including a key-note speaker about how the graduates are going out to do God's work, (with reading of scripture); which was surprising since I didn't know it was a religious school. (my graduation sure didn't include either). No mention of Obamacare, or any other liberal policies like global warming.
I would suspect that it has more to do with the University's philosophy than some Obama edict.

That in itself says a lot about volume changes. This is PIOMAS arctic ice volume graph which is what you wanted to see. While the graph does leave a lot to be desired it does show the last 6 years of data and if you bothered to track the individual years you get a sense that volume has been building since 2012 and that 2015 volume has held up very well considering we set a record low for maximum extent(area) this winter. Here's a modeled volume trend graph from the same source: http://psc.apl.uw.edu/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/schweiger/ice_volume/BPIOMASIceVolumeAnomalyCurrentV2.1.png The polar science center appears to be the primary source of arctic ice volume calculations.
My apologies. Up to this point I have assumed you possess sufficient intelligence to discern the important points from a messy but still useful graph.
That is extent, not volume.
Listen - That graph is clearly irrelevant because HOAX, AG, it is religious, and your probably a liberal
And as well with DC - don't confuse repetitive attempts at humor with intelligence....

Reading through this thread, it's hilarious how many of the hard line Stewart fanbois chickened out once this thread got moved to PPP.
Apparently they can't hack it here. Same old story: they pirate a thread with leftist idiocy, then run to the mods when somebody comes back at them. The "everything is a nail" solution == thread goes to PPP, and you never hear from them again.
Chickenshits.
Isn't this the 2nd time in as many weeks this has happened?
Hey mods, perhaps it's time to let us settle things when somebody crosses the line in a non-PPP thread. I assure you: we'd save you time and trouble.
Perhaps it is because PPP has simply become......repetitive, one dimensional, unimaginative, very predictable, ....and therefore boring....

Except they can't drop issues like gay marriage because the left keeps talking about how much they want it. And instead of respecting people's religious convictions, the Christians get mocked for it, and then the left media piles on with more mocking, and then nutsuckers like birdog suddenly repeat for the umpteenth time that the right needs to stop talking about something that the left keeps talking about.
If only liberals were as tolerant of Christian beliefs as they are of Muslim beliefs. I mean, if a Christian believes marriage is strictly between a man and a woman, its blasphemy. But if a Muslim tries to murder someone who was drawing a cartoon, the cartoonist had it coming.
It's a no-win for Christian conservatives, so to ask them to stop responding to questions about gay marriage is a fool's journey.
Hence, the GOP dying off....

OK, I'll lower myself in this instance. I don't have a problem discussing things with "libs". I have a problem discussing things with posters who claim to be what they are not. Since you completely missed what I made very clear, you must have some sort of mental deficiency that affects your comprehension. I hope you can find help.
Dude - it took me 9 words for me to get you to take off your shoes and step in your own pile....
How is that for skills OC?
-
@OC - Hit the mark a little too close huh?
What is PPP then?
BTW - I am a rich engineer...although now I mostly do consulting work for start ups helping them move up...
-
Why should I have any conversation with a poster who claims he is one thing (conservative) but consistently knocks conservative people/ideas and espouses liberal tripe? My whole purpose for starting this thread was to mock the people on the stadium wall who take shots at conservatives, knowing that there is little chance for their shots to be dealt with in that forum. I made a post in the Jon Stewart/Brady thread inviting them to post their drivel here in this thread at PPP so that their snide, whiny remarks might be dealt with more appropriately than in the political "no fly zone" that is TSW. As far as this being a conversation between us, don't get any ideas. It's simply an explanation to other posters as to the purpose of my OP and a way of telling you to phuck off all neatly wrapped up in one short paragraph.
You just answered my question...you have an original post wanting "libs" to "join the conversation"....then you immediately say in your next post you don't want to have a conversation...
I couldn't have painted the nature of PPP any better than you just did....BRAVO!
-
You go girls. Instead of hiding and posting your schit where no one is interested, post it here and join the conversation. Who will have the balls to show up? After that, who will have the balls to stay around?
Tell me what you think the PPP forum is...

About the two pee onz: Either a media outlet is going to pay huge money for them to spill or Kraft pays them huge money to clam up!

Because they are paid not to take jobs creating a culture of dependency. Given enough to sustain,. Get the flat screen and xbox and a cell phone and life is good. Never having to go to work to acquire a work ethic or basic employee skills. So after a few generations this is what you have. A culture of dependency never striving for something more. I've thought that black America in the 60s had an advantage of sorts. They had come from adversity which should have made them superior as far as toughness goes. Whats the saying "Adversity builds men, prosperity builds monsters"( Was Hugo thinking Soros, Buffet?) Not physically but mentally and for all I know they probably were. But the Democrats made sure they crushed that little advantage when the waged war on poverty. Got the black community on the heroin of the social assistance. Thanks LBJ you pos.
Link?
I love the posters here - When a "lib" throws some qualitative speculation out there the critics are on it like white on rice....
Whereas this post here contains so much conjecture, so much speculation. so much white conservative wisdom it is comical, I don't think you missed a single euphemism....... awesome - you win the day!

You'd only fight to support speech you agree with? Do I have to pull up Voltaire quotes?
These peoples free speech was not threatened....did the police or Feds show up to shut them down? No...the police were there and defended their rights.
Geller et al have proven nothing....yet they accomplished their goal....Bravo....
Yeah, that's kinda what I figured. Should have known better than to expect anything different.
I'm sure you're right. The lady running the coloring club was asking for it.
Do a small amount of homework and explain to me what she was doing then....I am not saying the shooters were in the right... I am saying they are b$tsh&@t crazy and when presented with what they see as blasphemy...they shoot.
Geller KNOWS this...
-
They can always return to Mecca and stay there if they're upset with the laws of the land that's taken them in.
True...but your trying to reason with people who don't....
You're not going to, but someone always will. Always. Whether they're drawing Muhammad as a butch lesbian or Christ with piss all over him, someone will always stretch the boundaries of free speech, and the question is not whether you agree with them, but rather would you be willing to fight to protect that right?
Willing to fight? Your missing the point...fight where - with what - am I going to fight for my right to draw the prophet Mohammed by baiting hardcore Islamic's with a contest - knowing that there is a likelihood that they are going to show up with guns....ummm I have better things to do....BTW - these people were hardly "fighting" for their right - that battle has been won with guns and blood in the past so we don't have to do that now - this lady who runs the coloring club is clearly looking for a fight...
No - I am not going to put my life on the line for a bunch of xenophobic clowns who clearly have too much time on their hands
-
Problem is - the Islamic faction doesn't live by our rules - they have their own - so if you want to have a Texas style color by numbers contest to stress your American style freedom - don't be surprised when they shoot you.
They have their own constitution - the Koran - they don't care if they die in the process - they answer to their concept of a maker - not to 1776.
Not sure this is a liberal/conservative issue. I believe in freedom of speech - but I am not going to publicly draw the prophet it means that I might get shot by people who don't have the same belief in freedom of speech.
-
Oh looky, the liberal is defending Obama's epic foreign policy failures.
Not surprising.
As usual - you are taking my critique of the GOP as an endorsement of BO's policies.
As usual - you feel the need to throw labels around instead of addressing the issues.
The state of the ME right now is a direct result of the policies of GB/DC - a fragile set of countries held together by either massive foreign intervention (Israel/Egypt) or governed by strong armed despots (Iran/Iraq/Syria/Libya/SA) was disrupted with the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan under the false neo-con notion that democracy would sprout like little flowers and spread across the region. Didn't work - and the world has a mess.
That being said - there is no "good" ME policy on the table. You have a displaced people (Palestinians), a country shoved into being from the outside world (Israel), a country cobbled together from 3 distinct peoples (Iraq), a country that hates us because we screwed them over 50 years ago (Iran), a country held together for 50 years by their military which we funded (Egypt), another one ravaged by two superpowers (Afghanistan) - mix in sectarian hatred and a millennial long culture of killing.
Tell me oh wise Magox - what policy is going to straighten this all out?
-
Not only is foreign policy much bigger than the "Middle East," the Middle East foreign policy itself was, with a few exceptions, relatively sound.
Huh? GB/DC Middle East - OK Iraq/Afghan policy was the worst foreign policy approach and actions in the history of our country - on so many levels - a catastrophe - this is not in dispute.
Saudi policy - Continued the "Sell us oil and we will look the other way - and buy some airplanes from us" This policy has been in place for a century - almost.
Iran: Well - we effed that up in the 50's when we deposed their democratically controlled government and installed the Shah. Can't believe they hate us. GWB did jack here.
Egypt: Well - let's continue the defacto parrot government of the Egyptian military by funding it and letting it run the country - another "winner" idea that surely will work in the long term....wait....what?
Syria-Lybia - Leave the despots in charge.
Actually the Neocon ME strategy was to overthrow Iraq and Afghanistan and and install democratic governments and let freedom ring - American style - around the ME -W000T!
They were completely wrong.
Stick with bashing Obama - carry on!.
Carry on with your BO bashing.
-
That's great logic you have there.
GB and DC were at the helm of the worst 8 years of foriegn policy administration our country has ever had. We, and the middle east, will pay for those 8 years for decades.
And i voted for him.
-
I never mentioned minorities or religion at all, I simply stated and correctly so, that more that vote democrat have abortions or support it.
Where do you have this information?

Even China recognizes GW is happening - you need to get out of the country to see your view on GW is of a very small minority that is basically contained (quarantined?) to the right wing conservatives in our country...
What harm are we doing specifically?
Where are we spending trillions of taxpayer dollars on faulty science? You write things like this and they have no basis in fact...at all....whatsoever.... where have i ever - or has the government said that trillions of dollars of taxpayers should be spent...
