    Assuming they want to sign him for multiple years. Next year they are already -14m against the cap. This could free up this year for a one year deal with an option for more.

    It's not that hard, you just push someone that weighs more than you out of the way like a 60lb child and then tackle the guy with the ball. Easy.

    The one I loved the most was in a reply to one of the tweets I saw about the deal. "calling it now, 7-9 this season" Love how a player signing an extension both reduced their win total by 6 but also reduced the number of games that they will play this season.

    It might have been, but then it would have left them short a DT until they signed someone from whatever is left and had no other DTs on the books after this year. Like I said, I'm not as down on him but still not exactly in favor of the extension unless it ends up getting us something else.

    I'm not as down on Ed as most in this thread but this definitely feels like a move to make a move (in terms of freeing up cap space this year).

    He should have keep it. That's the really frustrating part about it. It probably worked 9 times out of 10 for getting the same amount of yards, or better, than handing it off.
