  1. What are ya'll talking about. Prevent D is two high safeties deep. I see a lot of BASE D with a true SS. Brohm looks pretty good for not playing in an NFL game before, not being with this team in training camp, and having this terrible O-Line. A lot of positives.
  2. No. The Sunday Night Crew only does 16 games, not 17 games. They dont do the last Sunday of the season.
  3. No way Cody goes before McCoy. Cody is not an everydown player. He should go in the 20's. I want to see the Bills get McClain or McCoy. Or the OLB from TCU. Also the DE from GaTech is a freak athlete pass rusher. Hes huge fast and has rush moves.
  4. Yes agreed- saying he will never be ed reed, troy, or sanders means that he is a bust given that he was selected #8 overall. You need to revisit your definition of a bust.
  5. Are you serious? Right the Chiefs 2nd (or even 3rd) string RB makes one devastating move and blows right past Whitner (pulls away actually) and its OK? Dude Troy Polamalu or Bob Sanders makes that tackle 10/10 times. Sorry when my team picks a S w/ the #8 pick those are my expectations. He has to come upfield alot faster (watch when he makes open field tackles he just stands still moving his feet up and down) and just be able to be athletic enough to not get juked and then get outran (poorly). I think you see Drayton Florence (whos big and physical and is not fast) catch up to both of them - so I have a good measuring stick for comparison. Whitner is slow - not good enough of a ball hawk to play FS (and not good enough open field tackler) and too small to play SS (cant cover TEs and gets run over by RBs too much). Lets be honest - George Wilson makes wayyyyy more plays than Whitner. Scott makes way morrre plays. And of course Byrd. He is not a nickel cover guy either. He is a backup. A lot of Bills players (defense) are backups.
  6. Yes by far the Buffalo Bills best offensive lineman is Brad Butler. Solid and consistent. How many holding penalties or false starts. How many sacks given up? Butler at RT, Hang (w/ Levitre and wood at g's he is more than avg) at C. Wood RG, Levitre at LG. You pick up a LT in 1st round or FA. You have Meredith (who I think has more potential than Bell - b/c i dont think Bell will pan out), Bell, and Scott as backups --> not too bad backup crew I think. I would still draft OL later in the draft b/c these guys get hurt so much during the season. Absolutely can not have Fitz as your starting QB beginning next season. I don't think they will be able to get Locker or Clausen - maybe Bradford. You go out and try and find a legit starting QB in FA - knowing that your real "starter" whom you will groom until the starter sucks or the rookie is ready is the guy you draft. i am thinking about Vick - 2 yr contract, 8 mill. Done. he is wayyyy better than anything we have (hes not a franchise QB) but you have two good RBs, good enough WRs - I would sign TO 1 yr 5-6 mill too, and presumably a good OL. Offense should be good enough to take run at the playoffs - plus we have bradford or pike learning. The D- we need LBs and DTs. And we need playmakers at those positions. Mcclain ILB from bama. Mccoy DT from Oklahoma. Or the OLB from TCU who is a great pass rusher. These guys are top ten picks - so LT may have to wait. i say if OKung is off the board you go d-fense (assuming clausen, locker are off the board).
  7. Mmmm there is no way the bills are getting a really good (on paper) QB. Rams and Browns will def pick before the bills and def will get locker or clausen. Bucs will absolutely pick Suh. I believe they went back to their tampa-2/43 defense. You are not going to reach (hopefully they wont reach) for McCoy,Bradford, Mallet, TEBOW in the 1st round. Bills will be looking at OL/DL/LB I think where they will pick around 6-11. Mcclain LB from bama, Okung T from Okstate or the T from Oklahoma, and the DL Cody from bama or DL kid from Oklahoma.
  8. Well he showed emotion - got in refs faces all good things. But very Jauron like time-management and missed challenge. That was a fumble and it could have won the game for the team. Sorry he doesnt get a pass just because its nice not to look at DJ
  9. I don't give coaches a buffer just because its his first game. OP is right. Uhh what about the non-challenge of that fumble by Holt? OMGGGGGG even if you don't win it (you have 3 TOs) it has to be made. It was a fumble by the way. Its the final drive of the 4th quarter and a big play. Your players thought enough to pick it up. Refs were super quick to say its down (which tells me its iffy). HAVE TO HAVE TO challenge. The bills get the ball. And run out the clock. Maybe Jax has 10 secs for a hail mary. But yea his 1st half clock management. terrible
  10. Case Keenum. QB from Houston. Best pro prospect. Fiery, athletic, looks like Jim Kelly to me. I didn't even look at his stats until now: http://espn.go.com/college-football/statis.../_/stat/passing Just watch him play. Enough said. Oh hes 6'2" 210
  11. What are you talking about? Ellison got hurt he plays strong side. Draft plays weak side. Now to fill in for Ellison, Nic Harris is in. The Bills play a lot of nickel so they only have two LBs in (poz and prob draft/harris)
  12. Uhhh that was a terribly inaccurate pass to TO - and he is blowing by DB's and our QBs cant throw him an accurate pass. Our OL is bad too- but its the QBs
  13. I think we need to keep in mind that our D had 6 INT's. I think a healthy Edwards we put up more points (not saying more TDs) and win in regulation. Just to contrast, though Fitz made a point to get the ball the WRs.
  14. one thing is clear - fitz is making an effort to get the ball out fast and to his WRs ! how many times has he targeted evans and TO? Striking difference from edwards. fitz isnt that good - im just saying its nice
  15. Just watching ESPN gameday. Finally someone highlighted the outstanding play of the most dominant defensive player in CFB. Suh from Nebraska. Freak DT/DE. He is a top 5 overall pick. Bills need to grab him - I also want Spikes (LB from FL). Alas there line is a mess so hopefully they can get some good FA's for once.
  16. Right! OL and DL first last and always. I would tend to always stack my team with DL - giants, pats, titans, ravens, vikings all have great drafts and signings w/ DL and it pays off. But the post was about who are good QB prospects. I loved the edwards pick - but he was a calculated gamble - did not see enough of him in college (injured). Believe it or not JP is like a shorter Flacco, I guarantee if the current Ravens drafted JP they would be as good. Bills organization is not good. The Bills just have too many holes - really need DE help last year- and they still do. Still could use another DT. Def need stud strong side LB. I don't like whitner at free safety i am sorry but he does not stop TE down the pipe to help out the LBs. And we know they need OL. God help thim if they get another injury at T or even G/C. Mckinney is real bad. I like this GB kid though. But all these players are so raw.
  17. Floyd is sure thing. I see the fitz comparison. I like there TEs. Really sure about Clausen - thats his #1 throw the 35-40 yd jump ball fade.? I didn't see the ND v wash game. His umich and mich st. games were good. Inconsistent. His last drive against Purdue makes you move him up your board significantly. He is definitely progressing - but his elbow worries me - it drops some times and his balls float - i remember having elbow injuries early - loses velocity. Jay Cutler and Rodgers absolutely have the best "form" for throwing a football. Unrelated - I think the Bills had a sweet & sour draft. OMG wood is a freakishly good talent (everyone wanted him) and levitre too. But Maybin at #11 wasn't the pick - he is good athlete, he is like Derrick Thomas LB/DE speed rusher. Not a good rusher in terms of hands, techniques. Really undersized. He is a rookie tho and DEs get better in the NFL after rookie years. Byrd was a reach - but will be good (his tackling sucks right now - its due to him being rookie and missing camp - b/c he tackled well in college). But their Mckelvin pick at 11 last year was again the wrong pick haha. Talib all day. Their reasoning was that Mckelvin could return kicks too so his deficiency in covering tech/hands would overcome Talib's superior skills. Pick the guy who will be the better player at their position in first round - can't justify for his return abilities.
  18. The above poster is right. Head to head is nice. In Locker I see a lot of similarities to a Jamarcus Russell (Jake runs though). Not good enough accuracy. Clausen last two years - I would have said no way. Over hyped in hs. Remember Paulis was Gatorade PLayer of the Year (hype) but he took a Duke bball scholarship to sit on the bench his junior and senior yr b/c he was not getting the offers from the schools that merrit attention for the Gatorade Player of the Year. And he is not good. But Clausen is getting better - really like the Purdue last drive - really good. But he is a weaker Brady Quinn - not to say Quinn is no good (more of Browsn organizational issues). And Quinn was hyped so much in college- deservedly so. I wouldn't recommend Clausen (maybe 6th round). Everyone knew Matt Ryan was going to be good. Flacco is a bit of a surprise, but he is doing in Balt exactly what he did at Del. Steady, steady, steady. Big arm. He is just starting to look off guys, and pump fake and fine tune his accuracy. Case Keenum is for real.
  19. Well I am a college scout. Worked with guys that did NFL. You get assigned to a region - and certain set of schools. You don't scout practices (until senior bowl, pro days, combine) which today tuesday being a practice day. We actually rarely go to a lot of games physically (unless it is close and their are a lot of players there). Most tapes, film, TV. Cold weather is a factor - (back in the day the big ten was awesoeme - brees at purdue, brady at umich, harbaugh at umich) But there isnt a lot of weight to it. No one could predict that Favre would be so good in cold weather if you just looked at he was a missippii kid that went to SM. If the guy is just fiery and psychologically on point he could throw a lubed up football in -20 degree weather. Aikmen was at OU ad UCLA from that area. And Brady is from CA high school. It really doesnt matter. It is the player.
  20. I can't believe no one has mentioned this kid from Houston - Case Keenum (pronounced casey). QB is ticky scouting assignment. Everyone here is naming big school popular QBs. Look at the guy and see if A)he can make NFL throws, B)good pocket presence, C)moves the ball up and down the field, D)is he good or product of the system?, E)just makes plays, F)wins G)size, H)good knowledge of time (internal clock, knows D&D, TOs, etc). That is how you scout for NFL QBs. Tebow - are you kidding me? he is not an NFL QB (fails A, C, D). He is not at all fast enough to be a wildcat QB either. Snead- hes OK - not franchise. hyped too much Mccoy - hes average, hyped too much Forcier - kind of like Tebow, he will be a great college player but not an NFL arm. too small in general the big ten is a joke - and ND plays lots of the big ten so I don't look at good performance from QBs that play these teams. Pike - I really like him, but I think he is like Harrell, Daniels - product of the spread. I think he is better than those two though Bradford - hes better than OK, dont know if hes franchise - kind of like deer in headlights, has really good players around him big 12 teams don't play defense Keenum - just watch him, A-H, not to mention he is fiery and a great leader. Also he is very athletic, can run well. Runs a spread like offense, but he is not a product of the system - as a frosh everyone at houston was like OMG we have a steal. *Yes I am a scout
  21. Yea my expectations are low to quite low. I like this little stat from nfl.com: Lee Evans at Patriots (Mon.): 25 catches, 372 yards (37.2 YPG), no TDs in 10 career games vs. New England. That is just horrendous for your #1 receiver.
