  1. No. Gailley was in way over his head as an NFL head coach. He was done. I would have liked to see Fitz stick around but that wasn't going to happen.

Please give specific examples of "over his head" . That phrase is thrown around a lot as a fact, with no examples.

Gailey had the 13th best offence with the shittiest receivers in Bills history. I think he would have done better with Woods and Watkins. The Defense under Gailey was around 23rd, Dareus, McKelvin, and Gilmore had not matured yet. Now, It is a top 10 defense no matter who coaches it. IMO this team makes the playoffs and is a contender for the Division.

  2. FIRE THE COACHES AGAIN!!!!!! Fans are too impatient. They want change every year, and they have had their way. Since 2000, the Bills have had 13 different stating QB's, 7 different Head Coaches, 9 different Offensive Coordinators, and 7 different Defensive coordinators. That probably leads the league, or is close to it, in the number of changes in those key positions. How many of those that are calling for Marrones head, wanted Gailey gone, wanted Fitz gone? I want continuity. I want a HC given ample time to fix the areas that needed to be fixed. I am tired of starting over every 2 or 3 years with the same result. Those who wanted change every couple of years have got what they have wanted. It has resulted in 14 years of ineptitude. It is time for a change. Give the Head Coach time to fix the problem, 4 years Minimum. It is time for a different approach.

  3. You should add in, same horrible O line. IMO, that is the real problem. Although It is difficult to quantify the success or failure of the O line, watching the games you could see that there were no holes for the RB's, and very little time in the pocket. When Orton did have time, he looked shell shocked waiting for the pocket to collapse at any moment. Why do you think the red zone was so bad? It was because the O line sucks. One on One battles were consistently lost. Did you ever see the O line push the D Line back 1 yard to get the first down? Where the O line dominated the LOS. No! Not a single game. Almost all short yardage runs were met at the LOS. IMO, the O line is priority 1 this off-season. It is hard to evaluate the RB's and QB's with such a lousy O line. If you listened to Woods comment the other day, you could tell they all had a come to Jesus talk with the coaches. I expect a vastly improved O line next year. If not, then fire Marrone and Hackett for not being able to identify the root cause.

  4. Only if one presents his point like a jackass.

That said, the OP did NOT present his points like a jackass.

I'm extremely disappointed in this season because - as CB stated - a SB defense was wasted.

The defense and special teams were great this season. That's a good thing. This team truly was a QB away from not only playoffs, but winning playoff games, in my opinion.

So yes ... there were some good takeaways. However, I wonder how long this D will be dominant. Just because the almighty Kiko will be healthy next year, that might not be enough. Schwartz coming back in the same capacity is important, as is locking players in for a few years.

Most years, this exact team is a playoff team; even with Orton and/or EJ.

I am not sold on Marrone as a HC. I think the team lacked discipline, focus and execution. I blame Marrone FAR more than I blame Hackett.

If Whaley can get a FA who is better than Orton to come in here and compete with EJ, then I'll feel pretty good about next year. But that's a long ways away.

    Go Bills!

You obviously did not read all the Jack ass responses to his post
  5. I thought this thread was a joke when I first opened it.

Then as I read down the replies, I realized how funny it really was.

If you take away all the interceptions and sacks the Bills got this year from that awesome defense, you are really left with zero interceptions and zero sacks. And that my friends is fricken rocket science.

But, If you take away all the touchdowns and field goals given up by the defense, the Bills would be 15-0. How about them apples. Fire Schwartz!!!!

  6. People of Buffalo. News for you. High end coaching talent will not come to Buffalo not mater how much the pay is. The weather sucks, The taxes sucks. Their spouses will tell them to screw themselves and go alone if they want the job so bad. The only coach Buffalo can attract is a someone who wants to prove something. They will not attract someone who has already proven something. Saint Doug is perfect for the job.

  7. All the Marrone haters love crap like this. Lets take another statement and make a mountain out of a molehill. IMO Doug as the best head coach the Bills have had in years. And sadly, their record proves it. I am grateful he is not interested in a more lucrative offer. He is young and inexperienced, i believe he will only get better with time. The last thing this Organization needs is another turn over in coaching.

  8. I am always skeptical of people in a position like his. Fans listen to him and think he knows more about evaluating talent than people who do it for a living. Moments after every draft, fans are waiting for these so called experts draft grades. Clinging to the hope that their team did good. Football is a business, to some degree the teams have to appease the fans, during the draft, to sell season tickets. Do you really think Cleveland wanted to draft Johnny football in the first round? I guarantee you that people like Mel having JF so high on their draft board influenced Cleveland's decision. In the multi-billion dollar industry of the NFL, i would not put it past the agents to slide some money to these people to get their client higher up the draft board. Honestly, how did the Bills draft Aaron Maybin at #11? How did they draft James Hardy at #41? I just have no use for people like Mel.

  9. I knew i liked Marrone the minute i read the post.

IMO, Marronne is the best leader this team has had in a long time. Finding a leader is the hard part. But once you do, you surround them with good managers. It will be interesting to see what happens on the Offensive side of the ball. Will he fire or demote Hackett, or, like last year will he say they need better players to get it fixed.

That thread from couple years ago is insightful. Before they even played a game, some of the same people were complaining about him.

  10. Kyle is aging out of the equation, realistically.

Kyle Williams only makes 5,850,000 next year and 7 Mil for 2016/2017. He is still playing at a high level, especially for the amount they are paying him. Its the 19 Million that Marrio makes, and Marcell's big payday coming, that limits the amount they will spend on Hughes

  11. A head coach is defined by wins and losses so Marrone will play who he thinks gives him the best chance of winning regardless if they are still in the playoff hunt or not. Same reason why Chan kept going with Fitz.

Whaley and the front office would probably prefer to see more of EJ after sitting out most of the season

I agree 100%. How many of you think it was Pettines call to start Johnny Football? Did Rex really want to start Smith again? Marrone is just calling it like it is. He will put the best players on the field until someone higher up the food chain tells him differently. I think Marrone cares more about winning than trying to save face.
