Watkins played on an injured foot last year.
They were 5-3 without him
-
He has a history of not doing his job. Part of his job includes staying out of trouble, pass drug tests, and showing up for meetings on time, not just his play on the field. He is being paid like a man, time for him to start acting like one. IMO It was a preseason game and excellent opportunity to have a "come to Jesus" with the young man.
Go Bills!!

#1 We didn't even play Cleveland last year.
#2 Sammy didn't even play 8 games last year. He was on IR for 8 then out at least one more.
#1 Sorry for spelling Cleveland wrong, I posted that before I had my morning coffee.
#2 You are absolutely incorrect sir. Please see proof below.

Seeing some 7-9 predictions for #Bills now dropped to 4-12, 5-11. Is Sammy really a 2-3 win player? I really don’t think so. That’s crazy
I agree!!! He started 8 games last season, they were 2-6 with him, with one of wins against Cleveland where the Bills blew them out 33-13, Sammy had 1 catch for 10 yards in that game. They were 5-3 with out him.
-
9-6, maybe 10-6 if they can actually make 40- 49 yd field goals this year. 4-9 just doesn't cut it in the NFL, last year carpenter cost them 2 that I remember, and that was with the clown as the coach and IMO a worse receiving group.
Time will tell
Go Bills!!

You forgot to paste your code in the post also.
I got mine to. Disappointed that the bucks won't carry over next year if they're not used. I've still got about $40 on last years card to use.
I had the same thing, I called my rep about 2 weeks ago, he put the remaining on my season ticket balance.
-
Last year Sammy started 8 games. In those 8 games the Bills were 2-6 averaging 23 points a game. One of the wins was against Cleveland that the Bills won 33-13 and Sammy had 1 catch for 10 Yards. In the 8 games that Sammy did not play in, the Bills were 5-3, averaging 26.9 Points a game. I personally do not see the reason for the doom and gloom. He was fun to watch at times, but he was not a game changer IMO.

I want to see Nathan's arm concerns be way overblown and show to be a guy who can make plays
We have absolutely no idea how the QB situation is gonna work out......so as many irons in the fire as possible please!
I tend to think it is overblown, time will tell. This is a listing of ball velocity, it has Peterman at 49, and TT at 50. Watson went #12 in the 1st round and had a speed of only 45.

Athletes pay in states where they have away games. This "jock tax" is a complete rip off (and SERIOUSLY complicates their taxes!). If a banker or CPA goes to another state for a deal, they don't pay state taxes there.
It's all teams in all sports, not just the Dolphins.
"Jock tax" assessments to players by away-game jurisdictions are credited back to the player in their state of residence but only to the maximum rate in their home state. Players who live in the nine states without state income tax (Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, Tennessee, Texas, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming) pay full fare on "jock tax" assessments, Raiola says.
-
....yup....away games,...ludicrous right?..............
Crazy. NY must love the fact that Miami comes to town once a year.
-
...if I am correct, athletes are subject to non-resident income taxes when they play in a State venue as well as local taxes in municipalities......so an NFL domiciled resident in the state of Florida (no income taxes) plays in Philadelphia, 1/16 of their income is subject to Pennsylvania state income taxes (3.7%) as well as City of Philadelphia local tax (don't know the rate-PA is usually .5% to 2%).....extortion.........
According to this article, NY gets a cut of the Dolphins players salary every time they play in Buffalo because Florida does not have any state income tax. So every time the Dolphins play in Buffalo. The players on both teams are taxed by NY state on their income. Again, NY is making a killing off of the Bills being in NY

-
yup...and the income taxes and property taxes are killers..........life long New York State resident and what I pay is repulsive.....I think we are in the top 3 in the US.....
Oh i agree, and how much income and property taxes are paid to NY state by just the players every year? That initial investment of 22 million is looking pretty small after 45 years. That is my whole point. The state makes a killing off of the team. It would be in their best interest to fund a large portion of the stadium when it is needed.
-
...are you a NY resident?..........
Yes, I moved back to the area about 2 years ago. Are you?
-
At this point in time, I see no need for the stadium to be replaced. However, when that time comes, I have no problem with the state footing a large percentage of the cost. I have no idea the economic impact of having an NFL team in the area does, but I am sure the State does. State income tax on 52 professional football players, coaches, and all supporting personnel to include stadium employees. Property tax collected by the same employees. Then the sales tax generated every home game, to include the estimated 12,000 (last I heard) Canadians who spend their hard earned money supporting the team as well. How much Tax do they collect for every beer I drink at the game? How much gasoline tax is collected from all those who need to fill up to get to the game and back home. I could go on and on. I haven't even touched on the services such as restaurants and hotels and the impact of those employees and the sales and income tax generated. When you think about it, it could be staggering. Ralph Wilson Stadium was built in 1973 for 22 Million. I would think that the state and local taxes collected every couple of years now, easily recovers their original investment.
-
Hell Yes!!! This is the year!!.... Or was it last year? Or maybe it was 2012 when they signed Mario. Hell its been so long I cant remember. Either way, its definitely this year, I think.
-
You might want to look at who they were playing in those games. If you think a healthy Watkins would not help the Bills win games in 2017, then I just don't know what to say. And of course, any future draft pick(s) the Bills might acquire for Watkins would contribute zero this coming season.
The same could be said in the 2 games they won with him as a starter, Cleveland and Jacksonville, the two teams combined for 4 wins. The bottom line is that so far in his career, he has not been a game changer. People make it sound like they can't win without him, when to the contrary, last year they had a better record without him, than with him.
-
I agree, and if Beane were to make that deal, it would sway me to your position that McDermott and company are in over their heads. I can't see it happening, though. It would, IMO, amount to giving up on 2017, which the new coach cannot afford to do.
I would have to disagree, that if they did trade Sammy, that they were giving up on the season. Sammy was not an impact player for them last year. The team went 5-3 without him and 2-6 with him. And in one of the wins he played in was against Cleveland, he had 1 catch for 10 yards in garbage time. Maybe they think they can find a player who can contribute to wins with the pick they would get in return.

OMG, you're still here?!!!
We hauled the bombed-out remains of your argument to the dumpster where it belonged in the first place.
At that point in the game, with that field position, down & distance, etc, no rational observer thinks it shows "maturity" for Sammy to risk injury, fumbling the ball, and possibly turning it over... I'll refer you back to rest of that possession.. Sammy's catch put us at 3rd & 3 at their 40! at 3rd and 3, WHY IS TT PASSING AT ALL???! -Shady's on the field!... If there's any immaturity there, it's in the playcalling...
I suggest you reign-in your Sammy-hatred long enough to see the multitude of other things that went wrong in that game... -Pick a different one, maybe?
This is the most absurd argument I have ever heard of. In a must win game to stay in the hunt for a playoff spot. With only 4 minutes left in OT, a tie does not help. And you are saying Sammy shows maturity for not trying to get extra yardage . This is classic man crush!!
I will agree with what you said about the play calling, but again, this is about Sammy. And I believe, if he gives it a full effort on that play, he gets and extra 2 yards making it 3rd and one. Changing the scenario enough that the Bills think about running it twice if needed for the first down. Again, a tie does not help and there was only 4 minutes left in the game.
For the record, I don't hate Sammy. I hate that play because of the lack of effort. And it couldn't have happened at a worse time in the season.
-
You're argument is in ruins...
Watch at 2:18.39 as the TT QB-keeper goes nowhere.. at 2:19.21 Sammy scoops an uncatchable ball off the turf for a SOLID gain to the 17 yard line....At 2:21.42 there's a stupid end-around to bush taking us out of the RZ, setting up Carpenter to miss his 2nd field goal of the day... -ALL SAMMY'S FAULT!
You are a fountain of absurdities, my man.
What don't you get? I am talking about the Bills last possession of the game. At 4:16 in OT. Everything else you describe is exactly what he gets paid for. And I have complained plenty about Carpenter and his 4 of 9 from 40-49 yards. But this thread is about Sammy.
-
You are simply wrong man. He had 3 defenders in front of him.
Thank you for the link, I was looking for it but did not expect to find a full game video. Does the NFL put all previous games on YouTube for free now or something? Or is that not even really the NFL posting those?
Thanks for proving my point. Again, this was overtime, in a must win game to have a chance to end the playoff drought, and your princess Sammy comes up small on a play that the team needed more from him. I pay to watch the NFL, not flag football. I expected him to lower his head and fight for the first down. Anything less, and I feel robed as a customer. This type of play is exactly why the Bills haven't been to the playoffs in the last 17 years. I hope Coach McD can change the "me first" mentality of some of the players. I hope Sammy is more mature and becomes a team player and has a pro bowl season. But as I sat there watching this game, and seen this lack of effort from probably the most talented player on the team, I knew the season was over. If one of your most talented players is not willing to sacrifice himself for the team, then how can you expect anyone else to. Some of you are allow your man crush on Sammy to cloud your judgment.

The upgrade I feel we received in coaching.
There's a big reason why though.
In 2016, the Bills lost 6 of 9 games by 7 points or less, including 6 games by 6 points or less.
Throw in a week 17 Jet game we basically lost on purpose, that's 8 losses and 6 were by more less 1 score...
@Sea VsMia @Mia @Bal VsNYJ
All were veryyyyy winnable games.
Good coaching and a better system over the chaotic one Rex had , and you can easily turn 3 of those into W's.
That's 10 Wins.
No crazy analyitics, just some facts, proving the Bills were an extremely competitive team and if you upgrade the coaching on a team that is close, it can go a long way in producing a competitive football team.
I believe we massively upgraded. This group needed more discipline and accountability. McD and Co. bring that, as well as a extremely high football i.q..
10 Wins is very attainable, stop listening to the chronic negative fan, that seems to prefer the negativity, and look at facts and legit bright spots, that show this team has the potential to be competitors immediately
Edit- The Bills won only 2 of 7 games by 7 or less points. 6 games by less than 6 points..
I agree with you 100%.

Ok ex-BBMB'er.... Watch it yourself.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw85u5Q8NM0
Sammy had a pretty good outing that day, -And I'm no Sammy Loyalist... Start at about 2:17 of OT and go to about 2:26... Then preach your b#llsh*t about Sammy needing a new mindset...
After that go from about 2:28 of OT to right about 2:30.58 where Clay converts a nice 3rd and 8... If you watch the rest, Sammy has 3 defendders bearing down on him... Only a moron doesn't skip out of bounds at that point....
Oh look!.. -Another low, poorly thrown ball at around 2:32 from Tyrod... -Batted by Suh.... Guess that was Sammy's fault too... Lord, I wish BBMB would start back up...
Two things dumb assss!
Take a look at 4:16 left in overtime. Only a self serving primadonna steps out of bounds in that situation. No Patriot would step out of bounds under the same circumstances, or they would be looking for another job. The game often comes down to inches, he could have easily dove forward and gained a couple yards without getting hit hard. Other receivers do it all the time. Again, he did not have a first down, and it was overtime.
And another thing smart asss. Take a look how long i have been here, you stupid !@#$!!!I I have never been to BBMB
Who are you, Sammy's agent???
-
Pretty sure that isn't at all what happened. Was 154 yards 1 td not good enough for you?
Played like a 4th rounder? Jesus this board sometimes. Granted he was injured, but he plays like an elite receiver whenever he is on the field.
That's exactly what happened!! Do you actually watch these games?? When the game matter the most, he quit. At 4:16 in OT he steps out of bounds to avoid a hit instead of fighting for every foot. I don't care how many yards he had, TT had lead the Bills offense to 581 yards until that point, it obviously wasn't enough to win. But the difference between TT and your precious Sammy, is that TT never quits!!! Sammy has all the talent in the world, but no heart.
-
Sammy didn't need a new mindset... I think he needed a pair of new cleats... Perhaps a new playbook... It's TT who's mind wasn't right...
Doesn't need a new mindset? WTF? Obviously you don't watch the games. In overtime against Miami, he ran out of bounds a couple of yards short of the first down so he would have to take a hit. You don't think anything was wrong with that?
Boldin does want to play football

I respectfully disagree with you about Sammy. Please give me one example where Sammy single handily won the game. If he is as great as some of you proclaim, there should be plenty of examples in the 37 games he has played in a Bills uniform. I am a Buffalo Bills fan and want to see them win. I enjoyed watching Sammy play, he does have talent, I will give him that. But the Miami game did it for me. He has no heart to win and no one can argue against that fact when you watch the Miami game. He had a great game stats wise, but when they absolutely needed to keep moving the chains, he lacked heart and effort. When he stepped out of bounds without the first down, with 4 minutes left in overtime, in a must win game to stay alive in the playoff hunt, he was dead to me. I for one, am glad they got rid of him.
