Unless this is a new fire Hackett thread, or fire Marrone thread, expect it to be closed. Please use the search function. I thought the O line did a hell of a job.

It is not all bad. The Bills are 7th for Red Zone attempts per game. They are getting there, they just need to complete the drive.

I thought the O line played well too. Several times, Orton had a lot more time than he thought. Their continued improvement can get this offence rolling. There is a lot of football left to play. GO Bills!!!

We will know more Thursday night. I have always thought it would come down to the final game of the season against NE. They are only 2 losses behind NE. They need wins against Miami and the Jets. If they did win those games and go to New England 1 loss behind, a win would win the Division. I know New England looks unbeatable, but so did Pittsburgh. GO BILLS!!!!

That was with an owner who was more concerned with making a profit over winning, and used to micro manage his team / coaches. Plus the job insecurity of playing for a 90+ year old owner. Its why no top NFL head coach wanted to come to Buffalo.
New ownership changes everything!! the best part is when Terry Pegula was asked if he bought the team to make a profit. His response was if I need to make money, I'll drill another well. I want to win above all else!
No need to worry about coaching changes, as sometimes they are needed, and necessary. Marrone may or may not improve over the next 5 years. I for one am tired of his staff needing to learn as they go.
LOL And who was his first Head coach hired at the Sabres, The highly sought after Ted Nolan. That's the best they could get????
The fumbles and early dropped passes are what ultimatley cost us the game. I agree, Marrone and crew needs to improve also. I think they will. They are still 5 and 4. For what its worth, i thought the offensive line did a hell of a job in pass protection as the game went on. This is a young team, with a young coaching staff and GM. I like the direction this team is going. GO Bills!!!!!!!!!!!

I am amazed by all these fire the coach threads. It is easy to say fire the coach. Hell, the Bills are experts at it. The hard part is getting a good coach to come to Buffalo. No amount of money will bring an experienced, successful coach to Buffalo. IMO Marrone is as good as is going to get. He is young, but improving. Last years problems he said he would fix; Challenge Flags, Run Defense, Special Teams, Lack of depth at running back. IMO He is a good coach who will get better over time.

I thought the coaching was adequate to win. Leave it to McKelvin to loose another game by fumbling.

Whenever I ask myself how good a WR really is, I walways ask "What would he be able to do with a top 5 QB throwing to him?" Sammy would put up Randy Moss-like rookie numbers with that kind of QB throwing to him.
So yes, I consider him a rookie "phenom." With even Kyle Orton throwing to him for all 8 games so far this season he'd probably have over 800 yards already.
Randy Moss's first 8 games of his rookie season. 30 Receptions, 593 yards, 6 TDs
Sammy Watkins first 8 games. 38 receptions, 590 Yards, 5 TDs
His numbers are about equal half way through the season. It will be interesting to see what Sammy will do the second half of the season. GO Bills!!!

Payton has no zip on the ball. All of his passes look weak, even the ones he gets to step into.

IMO Orton is more than capable of being our franchise QB. I look at Eli, a player that has 2 Superbowl MVP's. His statistics and QB performance are very average, if not worse. Even in the years he won the Superbowl's, he was not stellar. The NY Giants have always won Superbowl's with average QB's. Joe Flacco is another example. What they have in common is a strong Defense. I believe the Bills have a SB caliber defense, requiring only slightly above average play from the QB. I believe Orton will do what no other Bills QB has done in 14 years. From what i have seen of Kyle so far, he is our Franchise QB. Until he sucks.
GO BILLS!!!

Pegula is cheap. He does not want to spend the points.
-
The major concern is the tie-breakers. We already lost the tiebreakers to SD and Houston. Need some more head-to-head wins.
That is why winning the Division is important. The last game of the season against NE could determine the Division Champs. GO BILLS!!!!!!

3-2 Bills vs. 3-2 Pats*. We've been here before,Bills fans. A chance to prove that this years squad is "different" from years past. I am hopeful, but im not getting sucked in again, and here's why:
2003: Opening day. Beat Brady and the Pats down 31-0. Finish the season 6-10, losing 31-0 in Foxborough in week 17.
2004: 9-6, heading into a week 17 catchup vs. PIT 3Rd stringers, with a playoff spot on the line. Loss.
2011: Start 3-0 after finally ending the Pats dominating streak after falling behind 21-0. Finish 6-10.
Look, I hate to be the guy looking at the glass half empty here, but we've seen this before. Hope im wrong...
Its a good thing i am old. Memory is the first thing to go.

Looking forward to being at the game. Definitely going to do my part in creating some noise. Go Bills

FYI: if we win this game I will dress my dog up in Bills gear and feed him a steak....and kiss him on the lips.
LOL Please post the photos.

He gets most of his passes off in about 2 seconds. I really like the play at 3:37. A Blitz with an unblocked man coming at him, and he throws 25 yards to the end zone with single man coverage. I like our chances Sunday, Go Bills!!!
-
IMO There is nothing wrong with our young GM and coach. Mistakes will be made. Learn from them, and move quickly and decisively. EJ has been, and is still a project in work. The time is now, GO Bills.

It looked like Marrone was calling the plays. Maybe he called a pass heavy game to see if Manuel is their guy. It is still early in the season and they can make a change with a .500 record. Manuel failed miserably today. We will know soon if he has lost faith in his QB. I was supporter of EJ until this game, he made a lot high school throws. I have gone to the dark side and think it is time for a change at the QB position.

This stat does not add up.
If you go to the ESPN website
According to ESPN, the total YAC for all Bill's players is about 100 Yards. The Sporting chart has it at 415. That's a 300 yard discrepancy.

In order of air time: Cowboys, Broncos, Texans, and Arizona

Bills 35 - Chargers 13

I thought Henderson should have been there too. After hearing all week about how Wake was going to own him, Henderson kept Wake irrelevant throughout the game.

Fred Jackson run for 7 yards

I Believe in EJ. IMO, It is way too early in his career to say that he is a bust. Statistically speaking, his rookie year was not all that bad. When compared to current NFL QBs that started their rookie seasons, his passer rating was near the middle of the pack. It will be interesting to see how he plays this year. For many years the Bills have had some of the NFL's worst receiving groups. This is by far, the most talented group they had had in a long time. Go Bills!!
Why I think Marrone should be fired...

Why is it that Marrone is held accountable for the the failures of the Offence, but is given no credit for the success of the Defense? Dareus was very average until Marrone arrived. In 2012 the defense was 22nd, 5.6 yards allowed per play. In 2013 it was 4th, 4.9 yards allowed per play. This year they are 4th again with 4.9 yards per play. I agree that the offence needs improvement, but IMO the overall team is still much better now than it was when he took over. Only giving him 1 1/2 seasons to overcome the past failures of 14 years is not enough time. I believe calling for his head, bringing in another coach nobody wants, and starting all over again is crazy talk giving the direction of the team.
