  1. Yes go take a look at the number of sacks that some of those lines gave up. You have some good lines and some poor lines in there. Guess we didn't need any of those high priced fat bastards that we got rid of. Russ Brandon just learned a lesson in the importance of DEPTH.
  2. Is it any surprise that those guys all have bigger arms than Trent? Did you see the air that Trent got under that one rainbow he threw to Lee Evans??? I THOUGH LEE WAS GOING TO FIND A LEPRECHAUN AND A POT OF GOLD AT THE END OF IT!!!!! The few balls he tired to throw into the middle of the field had NO velocity on them or they were high or off the mark.
  3. He's not that stupid but you were that block headed and obstinate supporting that balless terd of a QB we are trotting out there every week. Glad you are finally seeing the light. Only took 2+ years!!!
  4. Silly silly man. Don't you realize that Dick Jauron brought in TO and resigned Lee Evans just so that he could have his coordinator call plays to NOT utilize them and he has also instructed Trent to check down!?!?!?!?! WHEN WILL PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS NEVER TRENT'S FAULT!!?!!?!?!?!
  5. UH OH!!! Don't go drawing logical conclusions like that!!! It's all the offensive line's fault of course. If you don't think they shoulder a vast majority of the blame you must be a JP supporter. ROFLOL!!! I was going to sit this one out but that is a GREAT point you make. I'm upset I didn't think of it myself.
  6. Is that including Losman's first year when he broke his leg and didn't start? If so we are really talking about Losman's second year as a starter which equates to Trent's last year. YES, Losman even with a broken leg hopefully did benefit from film room study and being around the team his first year in the NFL, but unlike Edwards he wasn't actually taking first team reps his first year. I also question your stats for games as I did before: Are we only counting games where the QB was the starter for the year? Are you including games where the QB came in in relief of the actual starter having worked exclusively with the second team and not getting starter reps or the benefit of a game plan tailored to their skills? Are we looking at the present where on paper TE has perhaps anywhere from the 4th to 2nd best WR core in the game and can't get them the ball? ARE WE STILL TRYING TO EXCUSE EDWARDS POOR PERFORMANCE BY DREDGING UP JP FROM THE DEAD!?!??!?! Forget about what JP did. TRENT STINKS SO FAR ALL ON HIS OWN!!! Take off the rose colored glasses. Admit that he needs a LOT of improvement before he can be considered a QB we would want beyond the end of this year!!!!
  7. Actually you hit upon an issue that I hoped would be resolved this year. The BORING factor. I figured win or loose this year with TO we at least wouldn't be as boring as we have the last 2 years and beyond I guess for that matter. So much for that hope so far.
  8. Annhh WRONG. I point out that my stats do include run after catch. Thank you for finding it obvious what I already stated. To the detriment of my argument it doesn't even include OTHER long passes that just didn't happen to be that WRs longest of the day. Doesn't sound like cherry picking to me. Who cares about your point is?!??!? YOU refuted MY point saying that JP couldn't throw deep and didn't do it well or frequently!!! I DID intend to be condescending for most of the response but on ""that"" point, I use double double quotes because I quoted it the first time in my post, I didn't. Reading comprehension is an often overlooked skill. What kind of ridiculous statement is that. Until this second I don't think I have typed the name Fairchild in weeks if ever in this forum. I have asserted absolutely 100% NOTHING regarding Fairchild regarding his play calling or switching from successful plays to unsuccessful plays. Truly I have no idea what you are talking about. Again [insert standard don't put words in my mouth rant here]. You can't allege I said something I didn't and then rail against it. That is just silly. Heated emotional discussions are great but at least pay attention to what I have actually said. I will gladly at anytime defend or explain anything I have ACTUALLY said. You can't assume or make something up you think I said and then claim victory by disproving it. Seriously? Wow!
  9. JP had a gunslinger mentality. Doesn't mean he was good at it....lol. Many gunslingers ended up dead just like Losman. If he is not a good deep ball QB please compare and contrast him to Edwards as a deep ball QB. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. I dare ya. lol. One thing that we have going for us with JP is that he is fortunately not our QB anymore and can't hurt us. Can we say the same of Edwards and his deep ball?
  10. QUOTE (C.Biscuit97 @ Oct 1 2009, 01:23 PM) * Jauron, Mularkey and the NFL all gave up on Losman. Losman sucked as a NFL QB. Let's move on. As much as I bash Trent because some people still can't objectively see his flaws I think he deserves more time. I really do. I'm not sure if it is until the end of the year or not but I would make that a deadline. As I stated before he needs to show me a couple things. 1) Hit WR over 12yds in the air in stride SPECIFICALLY Owens and Evans 2) Be effective against a healthy 3 - 4 defense Honestly, if he does those things he could be a fine NFL QB. He'll never be a big arm throw it down the middle of the field or wedge it into tight double coverage QB. But he COULD be very good. So far I think it less than 50% likely he will become that but he needs more time if not for anything else to put controversy behind us as fans to say we gave him his shot, he didn't step up like the last chumps we had in here.
  11. So you assumed I meant he successfully completed every single one? Are you kidding? Seriously? NO QB in history has ever done that. Throughout his tenure as a starter he has been a successful long ball thrower. Make no other assumptions. Don't read into it and neither of us will look silly. I seem to recall that being a successful completion for a ridiculous number of yards in the air. How about you? I think this speaks to the point I have made of "trusting your WR". Funny how JP and Lee were able to make these plays where Trent's occasional jump ball Lee is reaching back over the DB to get. As stated above. Me neither. Duh! I have no idea what you are talking about. Please show me where I said anything in reference to that. [insert standard rant about not putting words in my mouth here] Could be wrong on this but when did I mention ONLY JP/Lee??? I said JP could throw the deep ball prior to losing his starting job and also referenced one game where he came off the bench and pretty much immediately hit Lee for a bomb. THIS DOES NOT MEAN I WAS ONLY TALKING ABOUT JP TO LEE. Just an example of JP going deep in the same game, same situation, same coaches, same WR, against the same team where Trent couldn't. Sorry to give you the slam dunk but take a look at just the LONGEST completions to a single WR over 25 yards over his last six games. This means that WR might have also had other long completions from JP that just weren't as long as their SINGLE longest. Not being condescending on "that" point but that statement honestly could be confusing. It also includes I'm sure some run after the catch but I think it easily speaks to his ability to throw the long ball well after Houston in '06. 30 Parrish 77 Reed 37 Evans 33 Royal 27 Reed 52 Reed 37 Evans 52 Evans As you'll see Evans wasn't the only guy that could get big completions. Even Reed was in there.
  12. ANH Party foul. JP is gone. Well over it. I just exposed some attempts at revisionist history that defense took the deep ball away from JP. WRONG. I guess it will never stop but just because you are critical of Edwards and his "short comings" (LOL...TOO funny) doesn't mean you want to resurrect JP Losman. Not that you pay attention but I have said SOOOO many times he wasn't the answer either. Pmommy...lol...Just a tiny bit childish aren't we? I would expect no less though I guess.
  13. So I assume we are talking about Trent who never gets it up nor goes balls deep so to speak?
  14. Correction. Trent couldn't get it done! JP could, always did, throw the long ball successfully. DCs didn't take it away. We lost that ability when we put in Trent who by comparison has a significantly weaker arm. The assertion that JP was ineffective throwing the long ball prior to Edwards getting the start is not correct. I remember one game where JP came of the bench to fill in for an injured Edwards and pretty much the first thing he did was throw a bomb to Lee Evans. Not to be argumentative but on this you are wrong. There are a lot of things JP sucked at and potentially DCs took away BUT IT WASN'T THE LONG BALL. "Chicks dig the long ball!"
  15. Of course there is no way to do this but that is a bet that I would consider taking. Buffalo is kind of like the opposite of New York in that Frank Sinatra song of the same name. "If you can't ...make it there....you can't make it ....anywhere" That's not exactly a knock on Trent. It's more to the point that our acceptable level of performance and development of QBs is so low and our inability to acquire competent ones probably stands out more on a QBs resume than anything else.
  16. Of course there is no way to do this but that is a bet that I would consider taking. Buffalo is kind of like the opposite of New York in that Frank Sinatra song of the same name. "If you can't ...make it there....you can't make it ....anywhere"
  17. JP had good WRs who could get open. Trent's WR's are covered and he's just taking what the defense is giving him!
  18. LOL. Way to cherry pick those stats. Why not stop trying to fool us and use his stats from the years that he was the opening day starter This is the kind of thing that keeps arguments raging on. People should responsibly use stats to support a "relevant" point. JP was headed out the door before the handful of games he played last year in relief of an injured Edwards against some very good teams.
  19. I love how on sports center they show only the last portion of that TO Q&A session. Unless you're a die hard Bills fan you wouldn't have seen the whole thing and gotten a true feel for the pace, tone and barrage of questions that TO was asked. I think it is INSULTING to the intelligence of many of us that we are expected to believe that that line of questioning WASN'T intended to get him to blow up, make selfish statements and throw the offensive coordinator and Trent under the bus! I would have been annoyed as heck as well. My new team can't figure out how to throw the ball over 12 yards, a 13 year streak ruined, embarrassing "play not to lose" loss. Like sharks smelling blood in the water these guys took their shot and thought he would be ripe for an explosive outburst. Since he didn't bite NOW the big issue is his petulant attitude. He's not stupid either. He knew exactly what those reporters were trying to do and was annoyed by it. What other Bills were asked that set of questions in this fashion? The comments of Lee Evans were much more to the point as many have said. If TO had said the same thing that would have been the big story about how he was "team obliterator" and "here we go again". FOR SHAME!!!!!
  20. No doubt I actually have been a supporter of Reeds after being useless for years. He has turned into a GOOD #3 WR. Perhaps part of his success is that he runs underneath routes and that is the only thing that Trent does well? He is certainly more accurate inside 12 yards.
  21. Can you elaborate?
  22. JOSH REED RULEZ!!!!
  23. What other players were that set of questions asked of with that delivery and the badgering attitude of the reporters???
  24. What I don't get is how we can suck so badly against it? We ran the 3 - 4 back in the golden age when everyone else in the world ran the 4 -3 and the emerging cover 2. We had no problem whoopin' everyone's butt. We ran the 4 - 6 when nobody else was. The 3 - 4 is NOT new and it is becoming the most used defense in the league. At this rate unless Lynch and Jackson somehow rush for 1500yds a piece we could be looking at considerably worse than 7 - 9.
  25. Trent has played and been the starter for 26 games. ONLY interrupted due to injury. Losman had 28 being yanked in and out of the line up being replaced by Trent Edwards version 1.0 (Kelly Holcomb). People made their decisions that he wasn't the guy way before that. I chose the option of let Edwards have the rest of the year. Keep it warm and draft a QB complete with a big time NFL arm and the balls and confidence to use it. If by some stretch of the imagination Trent learns how to read a 3 - 4 defense and starts to play like a QB that can win you some games in the mean time cool. Maybe he can keep his job. Keep playing like this and we should already be scouting out the 2010 class of QBs.
